I’m not defending Swann, but the majority of the questions that we want to ask can not be answered at this moment in time.
There is no way that Swann can discuss the 2 offers that have been made, and therefore it is wrong to assume that he is demanding too high a price. Maybe the offers made were lowball – not surprising as you need to start somewhere.
He has continually said that he will give the ground back, and he has reiterated that again via the forum.
The idea that we go into administration so that Swann can make more money is ludicrous. If you want to make money you don’t buy a football club. He could have made loads of dosh by investing what he has spent elsewhere.
He, very obviously, doesn’t know how to run a football club. He wants out. It may take time, and we will not be party to any discussions until the deal is done, but we will still be here next season and the season after, and I for one will still be supporting the Club.
It’s not the last football league game today, it is the last football league gane AT HOME today.

Sharp & Hooper?
They would never have played for us if every team waited for ever……
If you were to list the strikers that we released that were never heard of again, the list would be far longer.
If they do it during the half-time interval it will save them from getting into trouble in the Iron bar……

At 3-0 I patted my now son-in-law on the back and said “you have now seen the Iron win a game”.
It was his seventh, and last, match.
I wonder if he has been sneaking in for the last six seasons?

Whilst Swann is responsible for where we find ourselves, Keith Hill has not improved our team/squad in any shape or form.
You would expect an experienced, and supposedly successful, manager to at least get a higher level of performance out of them than the previous (and unsuccessful) manager did. But no. NOTHING!!!
A full clean out would be best. So Hill needs to go.

Great video & great times.
However, whilst Swann has been a total disaster, let’s not forget that we had 30 years of pretty shit football under Wharton.
Now, I’m not suggesting that we give Swann any longet, but we would have been glad to see the back of Wharton long before we had our success in the noughties.
WW may, or may not, have known about today’s news.
If he did know something, then why not tell us?
What he posted was pointless. No info, no insight, nothing.

What was pointless III was you feeling the need to tell the opening poster to ‘sod off’ when you could have just ignored it if you didn’t like / agree with it. There was nothing harmless or offensive in the post that warranted the abuse. Hope that’s clear for you.
Nothing harmless or offensive? So what was in the post…
It was a me me me post. He is making out that he knows something, but doesn’t doesn’t say what it is. A ppontless post.
‘If you know something, tell us.
If not, then sod off.’
No need. Absolutely no need.
It was a totally pointless post. So was yours.
They acted professionally, as they were trained to use them and they did so. Nobody got injured in the process, so job done.
In my day a copper would have given the lad a slap with his truncheon and then beaten him up in the van on the way to the nick.
Times change.

And so he faces, his final curtain!!
The fat lady is clearing her throat… the day some of us have scarcely dared dream about is coming…
For some this has been the longest of long roads… but equally the most inevitable road in the history of the club…
As crazy as it seems – the relegation party could be as special as previous promotion ones if it gets over the line in time…
Dare to dream. It’s time to believe. Scunthorpe United FC will soon be on the way back!!
If you know something, tell us.
If not, then sod off.
He is 100% correct though.

Well, it looks like there are 6, possibly 7, people ready to walk out after 72 minutes.
Nobody will notice!!
A proper protest needs planning and support. There has been neither.
There’s only 100 or so who read threads on this site with any regularity. 70% don’t attend matches. Of the remaining 30 only 10 are interested. So you have 3 or 4 more to get on board …..
It ain’t going to happen.
If Hill had nanaged to make any improvements to performance when he csne in, or signed anyone who could improve the team in the trabsfer window, we could have survived (although it was a difficult ask).
We had no new manager bounce and we have not seen any improvement in results. He has achieved nothing.
He has done nothing since he came.

In what respect is he on thin ice?
I would suggest that he is on thin ice because his record is appalling.
The fan base should be calling for his head. They have done for the last few managers- who all had a better points per game ratio.
Don’t just talk about it, get it ORGANISED.
You shouldn’t expect someone else to take responsibility. Get off your arses and start planning.

You never said whether you would have joined Swanny given the chance Ironawe?
Hypothetical question but who ever chooses or is chosen to be on a company board has to sign a confidentiality agreement, that will apply to Neil Wright too. Thought you might have understood that Awaywego TBH.
I was a member of a number of company boards and I never signed a confidentiality agreement.

One idiot fan charging onto the pitch to attack a steward reflects badly on our club.
Did not realise you were aware exactly what went on and all the circumstances , were you one of the stewards/security people involved? If so please give us all on this forum a full, fair unbiased account.
I know what I saw, so I was responding to what was an illegal pitch invasion. There is no way anybody can justify what happened.

You can tell how bad the football is when people are spending so much time talking about a little wanker who broke the law. Serves him right in my view.
If we had won he would never have been mentioned.

Sadly, he will have no power at all.
Whilst he may get to know more about what is happening their will be restrictions about what he can and can’t say.
Anybody who thinks Hill is the answer is asking the wrong question.
Hill, Cox, Swann or Burny. It would make no difference.

go
I can’t believe how many people are making out that Hill is a Messiah.
We have had no new manager bounce, we have seen no consistent improvement, the new players are not performing any better than thoae they have replaced and the stats are just as bad as they were under Cox
I am underwhelmed.

This must be the fifth ” must win” game in a row.
Surely we must win a must win game soon…….
If we don’t win this “must win” game today then next week’s game at Crawley will surely become a “must win” game.

We move the ball around quite well (and surprisingly quickly kast night) until we get to the 18 yard line. Then we panic.
Very few of our team are willing to shoot from distance either – or maybe they aren’t good enough.
We could have played until midnight and we wouldn’t have scored, and therein lies our problem.
I came up with my son in law, who is an NT supporter, and he was surprised at how much better we were than when we played at Sixfields.
There is definitely some improvement going on, but we really need a couple of goalscorers.
Sinclair had a good game but my MOTM was Millen – solid all round.

2355 might have been the official att3ndance, but that must have included all season ticket holders, a mumber of whom weren’t there!!
We estimated just under 2000 – with about 400 NT supporters.
Not great news for us Flynn going to Walsall.
Let’s hope that he has the same effect as Hill had when he came here……
What a sensible post.
Swann is many things, but I would suggest that incompetent is quite probably top of the list.
I will also say that his intentions have always been to improve the position of the club. Sadly, his incompetence and lack of football knowledge have led us to where we are now. The sooner he realises this the better. Let’s hope that the recent activity and the confirmation of Hill staying on regardless as the start of a change in fortune.
Regarding ‘matters sinister’.
Someone whose highly knowledgeable opinion I value greatly – and really knows her/his politics from the inside – has declared to me that he/she has encountered a surprisingly tiny ratio of plots in high places as opposed to the alternative explanations.
Whether this is where plots are assumed to have happened in: politics, business, high finance etc – playing the odds, apparently, you are ALWAYS safer assuming incompetence to be at the heart of the matter. It begins as the odds on favourite.Consequently – applying the logic above – this writer would wager his tenner on incompetence. Managing businesses – and football clubs which happen to be businesses – are not the same thing.
