the Club knows fans are worried yet remains totally tight lipped on everything except advertising streams to relieve them of their hard earned cash .. season tickets to restaurant hospitality when all we want to know is THE PLAN or at least regular updates not this total radio silence.. seems to me obvious that the owners /those running this shambolic situation of a club dont really give a shit about the fans at all.. and as for Hill having a plan .. thats a joke his plan from day one was to keep his job as long as possible, he has zero affinity with the club and IMO doesnt give a toss just stumbling from one cliche filled excuse to another whilst sucking Swanns ball sack along the way to extend his working life before job seekers .
Crap clueless manager get rid ASAP.
Im expecting a few signings from now on as more player become available … waiting with baited breath to see just who the messiah Hill lands.

Kieran O’Hara, released by Fleetwood, would be better IMO.
Take him in a heart beat .. he was very good and impressed in his brief spell on emergency loan
doomed

The Cods signed Maher (check i got the name correct) from Halifax so maybe Taft isnt on their radar now ??.. in truth he Taft has been and still is crap.
The total lack of any updates and info from the club is a slap in the chops to fans especially those who have forked out for a season ticket already .. a few pics of player in a gym doesnt really cut it IMO.
Waiting anxiously for the flood of signings and then the NL fixture list coming out to see where the first few games will be…not that it makes too much difference , just hope we havent got Nil points after 5 fixtures played.Speaks volumes … whilst all around football clubs notably in L2 (WALSAL CODS AS EXAMPLES) and NL (WOKING ALDERSHOT) are signing players at will nary a whisper of any action at SUFC, the Parker pen is primed ready for the rush of last minute signings and the book of Hill cliches open and on chapter entitiled
“New players must say this to the media”…
its great to be here .. a dream move for me.. it was great to meet the BOYS a great bunch of lads.. the gaffa has told me my role hes a great guy we go back along way.. i want to get the club back on track ..its will take time but im fit determined and ready to play anywhere… money was not an issue .. the chairman seems like a really nice guy whose heart is in the club.Note in case of emergency fire exits to the rear , left and right ..
Up the creek without a paddle and the boat has sprung a leak .. it aint looking good and a very tough season awaits

be lucky to a mass 8 signings in the next 12 months not a few days … by then we will be dropping into the Conference North.
I simply cant see any righ minded semi decent pro footballer even contemplating coming to Scunny
Pros
Hang on need time to think
Guaranteed a first team spot ..if fit
Nice new apartment in the fantastic new development built next to the ground ..oh scrub that !!Cons
Toxic state of the club
Ownership limbo
Crap wages due to a budget lower than most others in the NL
uncertain Future re the club even remaining in business
Being a non league club players will sign for any club that is in the league.
The beach in Scunny isnt that nice and the high st and night life is drab
Having to listen to Hills BS on a daily basis and the solid promise of being played out of position then told your just not good enough at this level.
The smell of Drapolyne nappy rash cream emminating from some of the younger players that form the back bone of the side.
Getting thumped every week by former footballing power houses like Aldershot and Barnet
The perminent doom n gloom .. dark clouds over the town are the norm
Swann n family AND yes man Hill.
Boycie must have had one too many sherries or just very desperate to come back home ..please add any ive missed
WHERE DO I SIGN ????
Henceforth im prediction not a lot of action re players coming in .. also the likes of Taft will be going..
Thanks Peter

I popped down this afternoon out of interest. Looking around I noticed two gents sat at a desk in the corner. One in tracksuit, one neatly dressed in a sharp suit, clearly a man of substance and high standing. The track suited gent caught my eye and beckoned me over. ‘Hi son’ he said in his grizzled northerly voice. ‘Alright Keef’ I responded…‘didn’t see you there’. ‘You ever played the great game son’ he asked. ‘Ten years between the sticks for St Bernadette in the Scunthorpe Sunday League Div 6’ I replied. Keef and his mate looked up in an air of excitement, Keef opened his book and began scribbling. ‘Any achievements during that period son?’ He enquired. ‘2 players player of the year trophies and a top half finish one season’ I responded. Keef and his mate turned to each other and they both grinned widely. ‘You will do for me son’ said Keef ‘fancy a contract ?’. His mate was now becoming increasingly excitable, ‘how did you achieve the top half finish?’ He enquired. ‘I remember it well’ I said, ‘it was the year we brought regular Bru poster Iron King into the holding midfield position to do the job Kenton never quite did for you last year, supported with Jerry Mahoney dancing down the wing Beagrie style, doing the job Devarn Green never quite did for you last season and with Bru poster Stocky on the bench, usually introduced towards the end Of games getting on the end of the Mahoney crosses when we needed the all important winner notching, doing the job that Bunn and Hallam never quite did for you last season’. By now there was frantic scribbling in books’Iron king available do you think?’ Said Keef ‘is he cheap?’ Said his mate. ‘What about Jerry and Stocky ?’ Said Keef. It was all becoming very frantic and dribbles of excitement were beginning to form amongst the pair. Turning to his mate Keef said ‘if we play our cards right here Will we could have squad reinforcements done and dusted in one afternoon’. ‘I don’t know’ said his mate beginning to look a little crestfallen ‘they look over 17 years of age to me, not sure dad will be happy, and I think they will want paying more than the apprentice rate of £3K per year’. The mood changed in an instant, ‘yeah your right’ said Keef ‘ah well son, maybe next year when we breeze the Conference’ he said as I shuffled away….dreams shattered.
Excellent .. good to see a creative sense of humour is still alive n well in Scunny even if the football club is up the creek without a paddle.

I’m not prepared to accept that a really good manager like Hill can just lose all his abilities. It is illogical.
You should have seen what Tranmere fans said about him. Playing players out of position for no real reason and tactically inept was just two. We all saw evidence of this last season. I must admit that some of his decision making was completely bonkers and made little to no sense.
Tranmere fans actually cheered when he went. I remember one of their fans laughing when we signed Hill on twitter and went on to explain people were getting pissed off with Hill playing one of their LB’s in CM and a RB at CB when they had no previous experience in even playing in those positions.
The fan in question said it was only when he went and they got in a manager who actually played the players where they were supposed to be played that they started to progress.
Keith Hill did well at Rochdale signing bargain bin basement players fuelled with the “everybody are against us” siege mentality. Hill always has played ultra simplistic, direct football. I’ve never seen a silky Keith Hill side.
Another thing which was said by the same fan was that he over emphasis work rate and “passion” over every thing else. That was also apparent last season.
I was the first person to credit the club in signing Keith Hill but I was another who was suckered in by his Rochdale days but when you look beyond that he’s dubious to say the least. I quickly began to realise that the Tranmere fan knew what the crack was.
Do I think he’s the one for us ?. No I don’t !
Hill will stay though while ever Swann is hanging around like a bad smell. I want both the Swann clan and Hill throwing out.
Cant disagree with any of that … a new broom sweeps clean n BOTH Swann and Hill need to go.
long hard tough season awaits ..with IMO little to cheer, with this current mob its a relegation fight all the way and i wouldnt be surprised to see us drop further at the end of it.
weakest SUFC squad i can ever recall

You need not spend too much of your time assessing promotion needs pal, ask yourself how many points are required to save relegation, or more obviouse, how does the club stay afloat, with no imput from it’s owner, that has only been interested in taking from the club, and who’s aim appears to be to destroy it. National League North or liquidation is coming our way.
Yes agree ..a more realistic area in which to assess and predict… defo a higher likely hood of relegation than promotion IMO

the more i hear from Hill the more i think hes just covering his back in the likelyhood of another dire season … nothing will be his fault and never blame laid at the door of Swann..SO
WHERE HAS IT ALL GONE WRONG ..
other clubs seem to be able to find and sign players ..alas not Scunny , im guessing the current toxicity at the club is one reason… the future most certainly isnt claret n blue with this current outfit from the top all way down to the matchday food and broken scoreboard .. its rotten
im dreamin of new owners exciting football, a new manager and no ore Hill waffling.

digging for gold ????? rumours theres a rich vein coursing under the GP stadia possibly started by Swann to increase the value of the sale.
apologies for my foopar re the Allegro … got it mixed up with another less than sort after vehicular commodity.. my analogy on SUFC and the scrapped Allegro remains the same and at this exact point in time our football club appears also to be going to the knackers yard same way as many other Brit traditions and some nostalgia from my past growing up in Scunny.

After 22 years away my daughter informs me ..Dad you wouldnt recognize the place !! but its still my home town and one day i hope to visit it again.
The thing i miss the most is going to the footy home n away and so sad to see the club i love in such a mess with the possibility of more woe ..heart breaking what Swann has done.
The worst manager we have ever had, dull, boring, uninspiring, tactically inept, clueless and unfortunately still here.
Makes Cox look like a local hero.
Cant disagree with that analogy.. add his annoying pre n post match arse covering warblings and its the perfect recipe for more disasters coming to a football club near us very soon.
Sadly I think the NL will be our home for many years under the current watch and teams like Aldershot let alone Wrexham will give us a proper tonking.
Buy season tickets kids, enjoy all the excitement that you’ve come to expect in recent seasons!
I always thought Hill was a motivator, a budget Adkins, but since he’s been here it feels like all he’s done is try to get us to revise our expectations downwards. Come on Keith, give us something to dream about! Give us some hope!
Hill interview was tedium at its best .. negative offering zero inspiration to supporters more so in a way telling them to expect the worst..
Hill just the latest yes man lacking in many departments ..similar to Southgate spewing sound bites without actually giving any info on stuff that really matters to the fans .. already covering his own arse in advance of weekly NL tepid defeats and lack of exitment n hope… can hear him now a few weeks into the season..
we didnt sign players we are not good enough .. when really should be .. im a shit manager working for a really crap water tight snake of a chairman who doesnt care.
increasingly im tending to think Hill is just the next appointed YES man .. i was pretty chuffed when he arrived but now after his woeful stats and equally inept man management skills ( some players didnt want to play to avoid injury still erks me ) like to see the back of him .. talks in cliches n its the same old bollocks he spouted last season , without new owners and big changes with him and Swann we are totally screwed ..DOOMED to further bad times and ridicule.
The clubs current situation remind me of a purple resprayed old banger Hillman Allegro thats been up for sale on the forecourt for years .. the price gradually reduced as the rust spots start to bleed through and still no takers .. finally the wheels fall off it rots and has to be scrapped.
Just who in gods name would want to buy the club ???? its in a shambolic state both on and off the pitch and more so financially so unappealing to any investor of sound mind n body.
i wish i had some thing positive to post but the reality is .. theres nothing to see here move along please.
England will never win any meaningful trophies with Southgate in charge .. boring and clueless but media friendly just how the EFA like their men … even with all the young exiting talent on hand seems only know a set up that is defensive and negative. Being ripped a new arse by the mighty Hungarians confirmed just how bad this turd has become .. a turd very difficult to flush and imo no way will he get the boot as no one to replace him NO ONE ..
ITS NOT COMING HOME , ITS NEVER COMING HOME

also on twatter ….. Ronald Macdonald to K ..FC
Yes a raft of new faces required even to hold our own in the NL next season .. anything top half even play offs is called a miracle…Wrexham are next seasons Stockport which leaves only the play route ………… for Oldham Chesterfield Solihull Halifax Notts County.
There are lots of players out there that would be good signings for Scunny ..alas with the current toxicity at the club actually getting them to sign over another less shambolic outfit is always gonna be the problem ..Hill must soon be through his black book of his ex players and mates.
CC ..well done to the Cods on getting promoted .. deserved especially the way the Mariners handled the 3 play off games… shame no derby fixtures next season but im sure the Iron will be back , alas it may take way longer then it took your mob if we dont get rid of Swann n Co.

all this take over talk is a sham ..its Swann BS .. IMO there wont be one anytime soon for the precise reasons mentioned already in this thread .. i would add i hope im wrong but it we are stuck with this leech another season it just means more heartache and pain , hang on theres a song in there some where.
SUFC are possibly the worst club for keeping supporters updated .. winning awards etc deflects the fact no info ever seems to be shared re the general running of the club , be it a sale signings or other .. the club website is pants.
Not looking forward to Hills pre n post match drivel … wait n see if he thinks ” WE ARE GOOD ENOUGH ” for the NL as it seemed his favourite phrase in his L2 debacle and he cant blame anyone else now as its his baby now… i believe his points per game record remains the poorest of any manager at the club ..i may be wrong not sure but its still piss poor and got us relegated from the EFL.

Being released by Eastleigh doesn’t excite me. If they don’t want him doubt whether he will be much of an asset to us.
That hit the nail on the head .. being released by a club that didnt do anything much in the NL (regardless of the reasons) last season and ORRRR the lad wants to come home to the North , IMO totally uninspiring signing and already it seems Hill is chasing any rag tag n bobtail cheapo players as his budget allows, same old cliches from the player on the SUFC website of how he feels happy and settled and wants to impress ..just what else could he say ??? ..expect more of the same low level additions and the same old bollocks UNTIL there are changes at the top and management levels… no marque players signings as just WTF would want to come to Scunny in its current state ??
mid table at best next season but im edging to us being lower and in an arse nipping relegation scrap most of the time.
You’ve decided that another relegation is acceptable then?
IMO i just cant see enough ability and experience in any depth now or arriving any time soon , dont rate Hill and with the current budget and uninterested “want out” chairman another relegation is favourite .. if i had to put a 500 quid bet on SUFC being champions , promoted via play offs or relegated (no mid table obscurity) im afraid it would have to be placed on the latter as things stand…sad but true.
The club is rotten to the core and in a shambolic state .. a quick fix is impossible under the situation as it stands.
Every morning i wake up turn on my PC and log into this site hoping for news of a new owner of any kind .. alas not yet and the thought of another season with Swann at the helm Turnbil as his puppet steering us rudderless to oblivion isnt much fun… and listening to more Hill post match BS makes my piss boil.

well its a start ..just .. i was getting worried we wont be able to field a side with anyone over 20 in it… not the most enthusiastic fist pumping news lets hope there are more experienced individuals to come… meanwhile the Cods are off to London in huge numbers brimming with confidence… stand back n take a look at the two clubs and think
“”where did it all go so wrong “” for Scunny and right for Hursts Cods ????
forgot to add .. pleased for Shrimpton , give the lad a chance and hope he goes on to do well.

The first ten games last season yielded 7 points.
Higher or lower by game 10 next season?
Unlike Bruce’s ‘Play Your Cards Right’ – you can’t freeze!
Less than 7 points from the first ten games and I guess it’s going to be a long, long season again.
7 to 10 points and it’s probably going to be another relegation season.
10 to 15 points and we will stay up.
15 to 20 points high mid table
20 to 25 points play offs
25 to 30 points champions
i think in all honesty to manage lower to mid table and avoid relegation again its as good as its gonna get.. the only thing that will change that prediction is new enthused owners and decent signings , alas cant see either happening any time soon.
AMAZED GOBSMACKED at the season ticket sales numbers especially with the club in its current state, well done to all those who have chucked their hat in the ring.
Watched Ironarmy Gareths YT vlog at the championship play off ..the Forest fans were awesome apparently .. bottom of the league when Cook came in n now in the EPL .. remarkable !!
BTW a milkshake is 8 quid let alone the price of a beer or some scran.
I dont often say this in fact its a first ..good luck to the Cods they desrve their chance to go back in the EPL and looking how things have panned out in the play offs there should definately e some goals (late goals) and an entertaining game in prospect… the Cods should not take Solihul to lightly thinking they are up already after beating both Notts C and Hollywood Wrexham… Solihul have a fantastic goal scoring ratio ..yes teams score against them but they score more USUALLY.
Solihul 2 Cods 3 AET … with a late winner from Macatee
Okay. Now we need to see players starting to arrive. (And yes, I know most contracts do not finish til 30th June)
The next ten days will tell us much:
a) Whether it is worth people buying season tickets and
b) Whether we are hanging around for the usual leftovers to be shunted in, for the most part, AFTER the lads are already back in training.i would be massively surprised if any “” experienced half decent”” players come in with the club in this current state..i think the next ten days will tell us just what kind of shit we are up to our eye balls in ..
I cant see any real positives or feel enthused by anything to do with the club at the moment
i am however very fond of passion fruit smoothies and IMO like the Iron they are just hanging on before being liquidizedindeed a cracking game tho im hearing Mullin is getting a bit of stick re POSSIBLY falling over for the penalty and then his Maradona moment ..alas means not a jot as the Cods never gave up and IMO deserved their win.
On a selfish note hoping Solihul win the final purely as already ststed it means 2 local derbies plus a packed away end .. the latter may happen a few times with some of the higher profile NL clubs .. ie Chesterfield , Wrexham , Notts County and Halifax etc.Alas im predicting a Cod promotion as the way they have won the games sniffs of this is their year and well done to them and Hurst … kicked out ov GP cos he wouldnt put up with Swanns bullshit.. seems Hill isnt so straight and continues to try to run with the foxes n the hounds saying the right things to the fans whilst always watching Swanns back .. a yes man that IMO needs to go as soon new owners arrive IF ANY ARRIVE.
PREDICTION Solihul 2 Cods 3

The silence is deafening .. whilst i realize we are in a sort of limbo stage re Swann selling and understandably not wishing to fund the club anymore it still would be nice for some one to keep fans informed re plans budget and any potential signings… enticing any half decent players here will be very difficult and if this state of comatose rumbles on through next season we are doomed doomed i say.
im guessing the owners of the open top bus needed to give it a run out prior to the MOT .. its a fact its not been needed by Swann SUFC all star A team recently and probably will be scrapped well before its needed again ..
Real possibilities for next season without new owners and huge changes … Relegation , Administration or Liquidation
Good luck to both Mansfield and Port Vale for the play off final this weekend .. no real bias or wishing a certain one wins just hoping for a good exiting game and no pens to decide it.
STRONG BIAS … hope some one can stop the Cods getting promoted.. after the Notts County result i got a real nasty feeling they will be back in the EFL next season
