One should never take for granted the option of supporting your chosen footy team and going to watch them on match days.. rain snow or blow through good times and bad, yes its always better whilst winning and competing at the toppa which ever league your club is in.
I followed Scunny home and away for years pre 2000 before left UK shores .. i can honestly say after 22 years away there are very few things i miss in Blighty..but going to watch the Iron is most definately one of them along with family , friends and proper fish n chips from a proper chippy (Scunny had plenty back then) , 7 hour time difference is a pain and thank the lord for tinternet so i can keep up to speed and watch “live” on line when available…i get my Scunny shirts sent over every year via a mate but IMO none of this compares to being at the ground and all that goes into a day at the footy , pre match pint , shitty pie n bovril at half time and the banter with the lads.only my opinion ans each to their own thats what makes the world go around.

Love your loyalty and optimism .. i too am keeping the faith and praying for a run of wins starting against Oldham.
IF only Hill had been brought in sooner .. my worry is its too late ..but miracles happen n its a funny old game and not over until mathematically impossible to survive.

I think Hill is doing his best with his hands tied some what.. 6 losses on the bounce but talking to a mate who went to Vale Park said played a lot better and Feeney Grant and Sinclair improved us dramatically … hope can get a striker , goal scorer in ..Nuttal ciming soon ???? plus another ..also a replacement for Taft who is dog shit.
Why would you take Burns off 1-0 down ??? n chuck on a fella who was right back 2 weeks ago if im not mistaken.
Its looking bleak …bleaker by the week ..and if a miracle happens forever more it will be Houdini Hill .. alas pretty much look doomed to the NL
Fantastic turn out n support from the traveling fans .. WELL DONE TO ALL
ironarmy YT vlog sums it up all be it this week a bit strange due to sad circumstances
UP THE IRON ..CALRET N BLUE ALL WAY THROUGH.

good news ..lets hope can get a few more book ends out n better options in , more so they click from the outset ..
Obvious with Kenyon dropping 2 leagues it highlights theres been too much dead wood in the squad in recent years… Cox years mainly.
Hoping for Grant , Nuttal plus a couple more at the very least… it looks like Hill is specifying players he wants and not the boardroom mafia.

Oops forgot about Matheson .
So at present we have had Burns , Sinclair and Feeney come in … what is happening re Nuttal , Grant ???? and also be nice to keep informed as to who is leaving…..its like the club seem hesitant to keep fans updated and they have to rely on the various media rumours and tweets are these deals so cloak n dagger and signed off with a secret handshake?
A HUGE week for SUFC ?? .. HOPE SO
Posted at Christmas things would be a whole lot clearee come end of Jan .. well they are
Lost every game n slow iut the e transfer window blocks .. big loss to Carlisle.. followed bt Tranmere n Newport now BristolThe fat lady is tuning up

Loosing football league status is nailed on .. just a shame looks like going out with a wimper before reach March.
Cox allowed to stay too long
Sub standeard players brought in
Doomed this season before a ball was kicked
Sad but true9 users thanked author for this post.
B Rovers seem to have to been busy in the transfer window .. as do many other clubs , im hoping Loft doesnt play would hate him to play well , score his head wouldnt get through the coach door for the trip back.
Anything but a home win not enough .. Barrow play Salford keep an eye on that one too.

like the sound of this lad … get him in .
What happened to any Nuttall deal ????
so so far still only Burns has arrived .. circa 6 days to go more so games added players can be involved in are dwindling away.
Will Loft score the winner?
Just know he will ..its a dead cert

Seems we are missing out a lot, whilst all around us are signing at will Sunny Scunny obviously is not as appealing .. most of the clubs around us in L2 have made numerous signings , Stevenage Carlisle and even Oldham n Colchester are on the bus ..
circa 9 days and it aint looking good is it.
Even the Cods are finding players and Abrahams is a tidy player.

Now your asking Ironff, I will try and drag it out but I am not good with names, even with a clue of Alan the only one that comes to mind is Dent.
Not a Dent .. i recall taking cover in a bakery at one point .. i went by the monika JB in those days
Alex Calvo Garcia .i think Motek was the shirt sponsor at Wembley ??? .. 99/2000 was my last season living in UK.

at the end of the window desperation is bound to set in and will end up with an odd experienced past it player of little use/improvement to the squad .. but then Swann can say he tried ..
FEEL SORRY FOR HILLIm due a 1 month trip back to Blighty later this year put off cos of covid and will be attending as many home and away fixtures as poss , never been to Boreham Wood only the service station .. twill be interesting to see what sort of home crowds Scunny will get IF IF they do end up in the NL .
. by that i mean 3 plus new faces including a decent striker
I think we need 2 good-ish strikers in as one won’t cut it. Need a CB and a progressive CM player. That’s the bare minimum because even then you could argue we need a RB and a mobile DCM player as Rowe is preferred over Kenyon so that can’t say much for Kenyon and he’s injury prone himself.
We have nothing at all upfront besides Burns and he’s never even played league football before coming here.
Cant disagree with that ..alas cant see any of it happening in the next 10 days ..hope im wrong but appears we may being going out with wimper .. even some young codhead fookwits are taking the piss on SM re our plight and Mactee scoring a stunner against Altrincham.
Covid is Swanns relegation blame card and will be his excuse for sure .
On the kits .. 3 looks very similar to an old shirt i have here .. age has clouded my memory and not sure what year but it was back when Motek were the sponsor.
Choice .. i like 1 and 3 equally.
We felt lucky to get the half mile to the ground without to many injuries, well outnumbered, then again when weren’t we, on arriving outside the I met an old school friend who said will you hold my brother up I think he’s broke his leg, I of course obliged and he went full pelt into the Leicester fans with a scaffold pole retrieved from someone’s garden, nowt like brotherly love. It was bad wasn’t it, but what a day to remember for everyone.
What was the name of your school buddy .. i thought my leg was broke that day and my brother Alan steamed into the em after he dragged me away.
Pub on the corner of a road junction .. it was crazy in the ground aswell
Anyhow remember the battle of Nuneaton, scary happy days.
Yes i was there .. crazy day , i believe they were Coventry fans that turned up for a bit of action.

If you’ve been following the Iron for 60 years and it’s still firm but pliant then that’s something else you’ve been fibbing about!
Colchester and Oldham finishing below us will do for me!
[/quote]
Twood do for me also ..but do you think we are currently better than both of them .. i dont and Oldham have strengthened in the last week or so ..(not sure about Colchester).
Sad to say n i hate being a doom n gloom merchant im more of the thinking Scunny will fall away and finish bottom by a margin …leaving them two to fight over the remaining NL place.

pretty much nailed on that there wont be anymore significant additions to the squad .. by that i mean 3 plus new faces including a decent striker .. also a cert is the fact when we do go down Swann will blame covid and the fans before looking in the mirror at the piss poor way he has raped the club and lied constantly …. even down to the money grab for Loft without a replacement.
Miracles do happen but not with this current bunch .. i feel for Kieth Hill.

great memories ..OMG i was 17 years old.
Question .. that team sounds very familiar to another memory i have … what year did we play Altrincham away in the FA cup and Joe Neenan kneed their guy in the nuts to give them a penalty n a 1-0 win .. i think they went on to draw a big club.
Vince Grimes .. he was bald by the time he was 15 , Rick Green enjoyed a pint and Stevie Cammack , they all put a shift in and had pride wearing the shirt… alas no so nowadays , how the great game has changed.
I read on that Hill has openly stated selling Loft has made us weaker !!.. as much as i was NOT a fan of Loft (ATTITUDE MAINLY) Hill is obviously correct and i agree , Loft so clearly wanted to leave and was just playing to get away.

SWANN alway goes back on what he says he will do ironfromafar. When have you ever known him to tell the truth???????
I need time to think about that … memory may have to go back back in time a long way.

Maybe Swann is skint more skint than it appears ..or not being allowed to blow anymore cash on SUFC by his wife and / or others involved in his business dealings… doubtful more likely hes going back on what he said he would do.
4 users thanked author for this post.
because I cannot see Hill being here still May!!!, I am sorry to say.
yes i must agree with that .. although the NL does have some larger well ran clubs with big budgets and good managers ..( example Challinor at Stockport ) i cant see Hill wanting to carry on working with Swann as its a job where his hands are tied and basically a road to no where so come the end of the season (or even before) i would expect him to walk , SUFC could well find themselves in the NL or lower for decades
