last night was the most entertaining match I have seen this season.
Yes great game ..as were the Altrinham Gateshead and Bristol Rovers Oxford ties ..
i like that Quigley fella Scunny need one of those
Madden looked good.
i fancied Bradford to do well this season .. just not happening
would love a Gillead , Sutton and Eisa in the current Scunny set up .. oh and a Van Veen, Billy Sharp Hooper n BothamJust listened to the podcast and Hill came across very well .. lets just say a tad better than Cox and his pre n post match ramblings .. Hill didnt talk too much about Scunny more so his past , being a straight shooter i would of liked to hear a more candid opinion of what he inherited ( a group of unfit sherkers n jerkers ) and what Swan promised but that was never gonna happen.
Slight chance with this fella at the helm but it is SLIGHT .
have to agree with the earlier post .. all be it tight points wise at the bottom the rot is set in too deep and with all things taken into consideration it would amaze me if Hill can keep us in the league ..sad fact but very real.
The Cods NL bubble has burst and with clubs like Stockport , Chesterfield , Wrexham and the lesser know but superb Bromley and Boreham Wood etc its hard to see them getting promoted …local derby next season !!
UP THE IRON.
spot on post WG .. something has changed .. hindsight is a wonderful thing what if Swan had ditched Cox / Lillis n got Hill in a month sooner??
Im guessing more will come out in the future as to just how piss poor Cox actions and management style were.Up the Iron

Much improved performance .. my fence sitting prediction came in .. 1-1 looked like a fair result and not a bad start for Hills first L2 fixture , even Kenyon whom i have been very critical of did ok , for a change lots of positive performances Watson again , Hackney and Omalley.
Looked to be acres of space out wide on the wings .. at some point i would like to see Thompson at LB Omally left wing Wilson right wing .. just how that can be done re the current personal remains to be seen .. nice to have a manager with experience and talks pre n post match very well unlike the total waffling twaddle Cox used to come out with .
As previously said .. its tight in the bottom area 5 points bottom to lower mid table , sadly Mansfield seem to have hit some good form at the wrong time.
Lets hope this new positive energy can be turned into points.

Be interesting to see Mr Hills team formation n personal chosen.
I am a tad more optimistic but gonna stay on the fence n go with a draw today.1 user thanked author for this post.
This got me thinking about the past Scunny fan chants .. all be it i now watch via livestream how quiet the fans are nowadays .. totally understandable with attendances dwindling and not a lot to cheer in recent times… any atmosphere creating noise is welcome even if it possibly contains a bit of soft racist banter .. ” wings of a sparrow arse of a cow ” ..alas in the UK today indeed many other countries society appears all to woke and having recently watched some old episodes of Little Britain , Love Thy Neighbour and Til death do us part it compounds my opinion how silly things have become.
sorry if on wrong thread btw ..dont wanna upset anyone 5555

I used to do the markets in Scunny ,York ,Donny Sheffield and Cleethorpes and had / still have a few very good traveler mates in and around Lincs n West Yorkshire area , for more reasons than i wish to state gimme a pikey over a dingy diver any day.

I would like to see Wilson game some L2 game time we need a bit of pace on the wing and get some decent crosses in the oppositions box.
After the “tinkering” in the cup fixtures it will be very interesting to see Hills first L2 starting 11 formation plus bench… hopefully hes seen enough and his experience and decisions can make a difference.
Cant say why but i do have a more optimistic mindset now the pretty inept Cox and Lillis have left the building.A few L2 club fans in my area i chat to a Carlisle fan who is worried now Scunny have a decent manager ..he was hoping Cox n Co would be in the job longer for obvious reasons , he also thought it was laughable that Chris Beech was in the running for the Iron job bearing in mind Carlisle had just sacked him… also got a Walsal fan here who is happier now they have improved recently and moved up the league not forgetting a Port Vale mate who is crowing a the moment giving me earache.
Hoping for a positive outcome Saturday ..UP THE IRON
Hes been about a bit this Eaves fella
The thought that COVID is the main cause re stay away fans is at best an excuse or a cop out not wanting to recognize the real reason which is no buggar likes to go watch their team loose week in week out whilst loosing with out a fight and effort.
I am not based in the UK so cannot comment on the Covid situation there but now i very much doubt more than a hand full are staying away due to it .. i may be wrong.

During his tenture seems a few of Cox choices were strange including his reluctance to give Wilson etc a run out .. he obviously had his favourites. Hopefully being more experiences at this level (in general) dont think we will see the same from Hill .. he has a big job on his hands sorting the wheat from the chaff ..or the semi chaff from the chaff, we may not see Hippolyte play for a while if the rumors are correct on Hills thoughts on him.
Went to the Meeting and Swann totally focused on getting the missing 1000 back.
I m also not impressed with what’s going on to attract people back who they are convinced don’t come mainly from Covid related reasons.
Seem to pinning a lot of hope on this survey but when asked how many had replied no one seemed certain ! Then 400 mentioned but survey still open.
When suggestions put forward to attract new fans there always seemed a reason why they could nt do it. It might have been an idea if one of the Team with Mr Swann had taken notes of suggestions put to them !
Not doing this gives the impression not really interested in what was said to them! Mind you the Meeting was half over before the other 3 were introduced and that was only after someone asked who they were !
They did not seem to grasp or want to that there are a lot of other factors besides Covid that have lost the 1000 fans.
Hill turning this lot into a Football Team seems to be their plan
The Meeting was told by Mr Swann that something is happening at Board Level in the next couple of weeks. The selling of shares perhaps ????

See Bunn wasn’t involved for long again. Think him and Hallam need to go.
Where to?
think Loft has already moved on in his own head. Didn’t he say not long back that he was looking to move on in January ?
He’ll have to start scoring at the right end if he’s hoping for a move.
Bunn Kenyon amongst others need shipping out ASAP.

If they were horses it would be the knackers yard .. are do keys near enough ??
Re the missing 1000 … a combination of
Shit football
No one likes to constantly watch crap football and your team loosing week in week out.Dislike of owners .. keeping disgruntled fans away.
Overall are the club are offering a shit product ?? ..match day experience , crap food and a depressing atmos etc , former regular fans will find other ways to spend a Saturday afternoon .. cutting the grass, going the bingo , a tupperware party or painting the spare bedroom more enticing.
Covid and the economic effect

When you stand back and look at the loan signings and crocks that have come into the club it makes you wonder who sanctioned these deals and were the players checked out medically and to a certain extent rated at all for their talents… Bunn Kenyon amongst others need shipping out ASAP.
Re yesterday ..first have was decent .. second useless , in truth probably a good chance for Hill to see waht hes working with 555 .. a cup run would ov been nice but not overly bothered we are out.ironarmy Gareth summed it up well on his YT channel…always follow his vids.
IMO Loft just waiting to leave , others on longer contracts just taking the piss i really hope
Hill can find some way of turning things around as IF thats IF we go out the league it could well be years before we return looking at the strength and money NL clubs now have at their disposal.Maybe get the youngsters ( Wilson etc ) in cos at the mo their are only 4 or 5 players who should be pulling on the shirt come match days.
No confirmation what Swann has promised Hill on a budget to bring in players now (free agents) or in January but its a fact there are plenty that need to leave.
Next league fixture will be very interesting to see not only the line up but if the players chosen show any change in desire or effort.

Has Mr Hill given an interview or made any statements to the media yet? not seem or heard owt, if so where ?
All i picked up was a short vid of him taking a first training session on twitter0-2
Out at the first hurdle. It’s the Iron way, don’t y’know.
YEP sadly thats my prediction as well … a cup run would be handy for the added cash but really staying in the football league is way more important and be able to give Hurst and all the cods fans the finger IF we avoid relegation as they are being particularly vocal on the Iron being doomed already with Hurst speaking carefully to the media re the subject… i caught a sense of glee in his warblings.

In a direct answer to the thread header .. UP THE LEAGUE AND SAVED FROM RELEGATION.
Indeed a warm welcome Keith Hill .. i wish him well in what can only be described as a sticky situation. My personal choice was Hill or Adkins ..praying it wasnt Beech , Ball or a Swann “on the cheap” cop out and any other previously connected to the club..
I hope he clears the passionless dead wood and crocks quickly , PLEASE someone tell Mr Hill about young Wilson….. and more so he gets his chance.
UP THE IRON ..claret n blue all way through.

All Scunny fans should be worried reading this
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/efl-tougher-punishments-clubs-administration-25341108With Swann Cox Lillis n Co administration is where we are heading
Finally managed to get a decent non buffering set up to watch online … i wished i hadnt bothered , total garbage .. other adjectives should include disgraceful , lazy , passionless and crap..it really is time for Cox to go and the longer he Lillis n co remain the more it strengthens the arguments and thoughts that Swann wants the club to do York Bury Darlo etc so he can snaffle the real estate.
Looking at this current group and comparing them to the past really does sum it up .. worst bunch ever and apart from maybe 2 or 3 if any of them had morals they would refuse to take their salary.
Donny next week ..expect a pasting that will do nothing for dwindling /zero confidence levels..only slight chortle was that the Cods have now lost 2 on the bounce and the national league honeymoon is over ..and a local derby next season still may be on the fixture list.
Im going to watch a local Asean L1 encounter today which all be it years behind the English game would probably beat the current Iron mob at a cantor.
Surprised to see Southend in the NL relegation places .. it could be guess who next year ??
Sad times indeed ..

Ay 20 plus yrs ..
Dont tell.me Woollies is closed ive still.got a 5 quid voucher from 20011 user thanked author for this post.
I would love to be proved wrong but past history shows Swann has been very quick to sack .. something has changed where now he is so reluctant to give Cox n Lillis the boot when they are so clearly inept at all aspects of football management .. for sure the longer Swann for whatever reason doesnt sack them it will come to the point its just too late who ever comes in post Cox Lillis.. the damage will be done and beyond repair if its left much longer .. a win at home on Saturday against Crawley would certainly keep them at the helm longer .. silly but would another home defeat this weekend be enough for then to be dismissed ??? i doubt it .
Kieth Hill isnt a manager im familiar with need to read up on him and his past positions etc.

Nigel Adkins return would be great but ill show my arse in Woollies window if it happens.. he has moved on and i doubt would give the idea much thought.
Who would want to manage SUFC with Swann in charge????
Exactly .. i cant name a single half decent AVAILABLE experienced manager that would want to come to Scunny .. with or without Swann ..though i suspect without it may be easier to find the right man.
Oh for the heady days of Laws n Adkins and a squad with pride, passion and owners that really cared about the club and the fans… SUFC were the pride of Lincolnshire in those days , now a laughing stock.

Thats where we are heading the York Chester Darlo route …. and that is if the Club survives at all as being wound up and cease trading is a real possibility.
Parasitic Swann doesnt give a toss hes holding all the clubs assets and his property developing mentality to make sure he comes out of this ok kicked in long ago.
BTW what is the current value of SUFC IF it was put up for sale ???????
1 user thanked author for this post.
Just read the statement put out by Swann .. WALOB.. dont believe a word that comes out that fellas gob .. the snaffling of the ground and renaming it was done to protect him and him alone.
He says hes bank rolling the club .. getting Cox in on the cheap and allowing him to sign all the dead wood no one else wanted re crocked ” experienced ” Kenyon etc to name just one… also very poor loan signings dont help…but WTF would want to come to SUFC in its current state ??remembering games at The Old Show Ground in the Donny Rd end .. they were great, days when we had a club.
