Even though i do have a black sheep relative living in a tin shed in Grimesby i really dont like codneads .. they smell, most have a limp and, going by their most prominent YT vloggers they never completed full time education and need to go on a diet thats does not include Coke, Chips and Lard butties ..

On the footballing front i would hate them to get a sneaky promotion via the NL playoffs that would really make my piss boil.

Disclaimer ..tho its the truth no offence was intended when writing this post and i apologize if any Cods broke into a sweat when reading it prior to their weekly counciling session and collecting their benefits…maybe a stroll down Cleggy prom will blow away any angst.

Back on topic .. im starting to swing ..no no not that way , is Hill the right man for the job .. pushed to offer either a straight YES or NO ..it would be a NO from me…purely on what he hasnt achieved and the way he sucks up to Swann.

You know a lot about goalkeepers Pat specialist subject is it, “Howard has been shocking” was one of your posts.Mmmm.

Howard playing very well at Carlisle ..mate tells me they are desperate to keep him yet he left us under what ever circumstances , thats leads us nicely onto the departure of Hippo and Manny who are also playing superb at Stockport n DnR …oh Loft at Bristol who isnt and still has a face like a slapped arse..

I think Watson will be on his toes come the end of the season, not fussed as a whole new squad will be playing in the NL , mostly youngsters im guessing ..

Back to keepers have to say i rated O Hara the emergency keeper very highly..

50 hit with ease and no sign of a win or a goal being scored (not including penalties and own goals) i reckon at best maybe scrapping a sad 0-0 , finishing on -60 is a real possibility.

I read what Lee Turnbull had to say re new owners in his “breaking the silence” interview and as usual left me with little hope or confidence in any new people buying the club .. similar rhetoric to what weve been hearing from Swann over the years … is he just Swanns puppet rent boy ..of course he is .. Add Hill to that genre too.

I too fear for us in the NL .. been following it more since resigned to relegation weeks ago and its a lot harder then i previously thought .. we may fall out the other end of that if things dont change re investment both on and off the pitch.

    sad times

If any protest occurs the 72 minute mass walk out against Mansfield town is IMO the best option ..

IMO ..We could be in for a real pasting againsnt Mansfield.

Not that it would really change anything just sending a message which in reality will fall on deaf ears as Swann doesnt give a toss.

Our club is fooked until he leaves totally and we have new owners .. recent events re him “stepping down” mean nothing its like hes just washing his hands of the responsibility whilst still owning and controlling things until the time is right to allow the club to fold ..its a distancing tactic for sure.

What are any new prospective buyers gonna think when its … yes its ONLY XXXXX million pounds for this great little sustainable club with great potential …OH BTW the real estate and ground are not included.

well done to the guys winning the Lincs cup. aand at the same time scoring 2 goals in a a game for what seems like months… Oldham away i think ??

Thanks to Gareth Ironarmy for the YT vids.

I was happy when Hill came in but alas for what ever reasons been a massive let down and this building for the future tag is very tedious !! …the future is mid table NL or even lower level league for the next decade.

Im still predicting he will pushed or not jump ship sooner rather than later…and whose to say its for the betterment of the club ..his record is woeful no hiding the facts and stats

i read with glee Swann steps down … only to have the happy rug pulled from under my feet when realizing both before and more so after his announcement that nothing has changed and its just more bullshit from the man .. he spews total bollocks and must think fans are all daft if they believe this crap.. the guy is a parasite that has destroyed a once great little football club and now he is first in the life boat before the women n kids.

What a total shambles and disgrace SUFC have become under his watch.

Regardless of recent events i still think a 72 minute walk out against Mansfield is an excellent idea.. IF ALL are on board…

Im used to the Idea of NL football next season im over relegation we deserve it , Hill remains a massive let down but i am more concerned about the actual ownership / boardroom events currently on going and the actual survival of the club than SUFC could easily go out of business totally if things dont change and anew owner is found.

The new manager bounce was managing a 0-0 draw if i recall correctly .. IMO Hill has been a massive disappointment and i would not be surprised to see him leave at any time before next seasons National League adventure starts.

Goals win games and this current ensemble mish mash cobbled together from the left overs from a very poor Cox group and a bottom of the barrel January intake have sealed our fate… being constantly out played possession wise and shots on goal both home and away isnt fun to watch and im not sure we will see Scunny win another game in the league ,,,or maybe even score another goal.

Back to Hill .. hes been here before ..just another job , stepping stone he doesnt have any love for the club and seems unfazed at its demise mirroring Swanns vibe.

A 72 minute mass walk out is a great idea

Wrexhan 2 nil up n cruising then it goes tits up and 5 -2 down after 63 mins to bottom and already relegated Dover … they think its all over ..but it isnt with goals in 91 n 98 the minutes Wrexham snatch an unbelievable win…

i was pleased when Hill came on board .. he offered hope ..but in reality he has just joined the list of really crap managers the club have had in recent years … i was a fan of Laws , Adkins and Alexander ..all else have been dross, statts n records dont lie and Hill, Coxs’ are the poorest hence we are going out the football league and make no mistake it could be for decades …worse still into admin and out of business.

A generation or two may never see the Iron play in the league again .. thats very sad

3 things you can bet your bottom dollar on

Scunny loose … thats the norm now
Wont score (should of been at least 1 up before they scored)
Hackney gets booked (all be it he was our best player yesterday (not a difficult task to achieve)

As previously mentioned with other results going our way over the last week or two it could have been a very different table if we could have mustered a win or two built some confidence and shown some fight n desire to stay up …alas none of these were remotely offered and going down looking un interested , dejected and more sadly with a whimper.

My worry now is the club will go out of business totally and with recent board room goings on its becoming a real possibility.

oh we are singing PLEASE GET SWAN OUT.

Based on the previous seasons crap , Swan letting all the players go )due to covid) and Cox at the wheel i had us nailed on for the drop before a ball was kicked and had a small wager on it .. sad to say it will be paying out and a few mates n i will drink the winnings at a small wake we have planned .. back then i was of the opinion Stevenage Sutton and Barrow would also be in the relegation mix (not Oldham)..Sutton have surprised me.

It was very sadly as predictable as the stink of fish in Grimesby this was on the cards…

may make a small suggestion … any one attending both the last home or away fixture should wear black clothing and or black arm bands, this would send a message to SWann as it appears hes taking this event rather well like the death of a pet rabbit (not that he gives a shit its just how to grab the asset money now)..a small and easy thing to do ..if every turned up in respectful black its a sign of fan solidarity against the owners.
im currently overseas and will don my funeral attire for both fixtures as IMO this relegation is the demise of the club ive supported since i was 10 years old.

I’ve been trying to find any teams which were worse than our lot in this division. I’ve gone back 60 years and I can only find a couple of teams which were worse than our current points table.

    20 Doncaster 97/98
    23 Workington 76/77*
    —————-
    24 Us – with 8 games left
    —————-
    25 Newport 87/88
    25 Bradford PA 68/69
    27 Crewe 81/82
28 Southport 76/77* – this is the only side I’ve found which won fewer than 4 games.
    28 Workington 75/76*
    29 Torquay 95/96
    29 Barrow 70/71*
    29 Bradford PA 69/70*

    * Adjusted for 3 points for a win

What is perhaps most alarming about this list is what happened to a number of clubs on this list after leaving the Football League.

Southport, Bradford PA, Barrow & Workington all disappeared from the Football League around the time of these record low seasons and only Barrow have recently come back. Newport went bankrupt the season after being relegated and Doncaster barely survived. Torquay yo-yo’d for a decade or two and have been out of the league for nearly a decade.

The moral of this story is that a team this bad doesn’t tend to bounce back quickly. We’re currently on course for 29. Are we destined to become another Bradford PA or Southport, a name remembered only in Football League history?

Sobering analysis.. the future most certainly is not bright regardless of how many time MR Hill feels the need to tell us how the club is restructuring and rebuilding for it. LOB imo

National League North will likely be our destination in 23/24 season.

sadly a real and distinct possibility….

Question … if we had played this squad in the NL this season where do you think we would of finished ?? , i suggest NOT top half of table more likely bottom half just scrapping it to avoid relegation.

I’d seen Grant listed as one of the 6 loanees but seems he was actually signed permanently. So the loanees would be:

    Delaney
    Matheson
    Sinclair
    Hackney
    Pyke
    Burns

Not going to miss many of them, although I think Sinclair would possibly offer something in the Conference.

Out of the loanees listed above i would keep Delaney Burns and Sinclair the others i will pay for the taxi.
IMO Delaney is the only one i think may stay and play in the NL.

I would like to think things cant get any worse ..but im afraid they can and probably will while Swann is still involved .. a tough season in the NL is looming for sure

Who would want to buy us for the price Swann will want?

The share value of the club when he took over was, I believe, around £1m – and of course the club owned their own ground.

Whilst the shares themselves are worthless Swann made a series of share issues that he himself took up – notionally placing the share value of the club at several millions of pounds.

Having now hived off the ground (and ascribing a notional value of around £11m to it) it seems to me that Mr Swann will be seeking offers in the region of 8 figures – certainly if any prospective purchaser wants to take the ground back rather than being left with Swann as the landlord.

This also nearly recoups most of the money he squandered at the clubs expense of course.

For this hefty investment you will get a loss making entity, on an unprecedented downward spiral, with no playing squad worth talking about and a stadium that is falling down.

Besides that, you’d have the issue of having to totally reorganise the off field structure of the club – unless you were happy with the current chief scout et al.

Whilst I’m sure there must be a kind hearted simpleton out there who also happens to be a multi millionaire I’d be surprised if he came knocking on our door anytime soon because he’s probably under lock and key for his own safety.

The reality is that either by incompetence or design, Swann seems to have managed to make us totally unsaleable – unless he is simply prepared to give the club and ground away of course for next to nothing – which seems even more unlikely than the kind hearted simpleton scenario described above.

I would go with just about all that … Swann has most definately made the club as a business entity more or less worthless and ny on impossible to sell.
A devout Scunny fan needs to win the Euro millions or a consortium of business people …anything to get Swann gone.
the football is embarassingly bad worse still is the apparent lack of fight n desire to even try to win a game .. Nuttal is only one goal off being the seasons top scorer i believe thats a shambolic stat.

Gareths ironarmy YT vlog made for painful viewing except for the magnificent away support , so well done to all that went to Salford.

Well same as once again, 20 mins to go and 3-1 down, this will be the 53rd match and only 4 wins during this pathetic period, there is no wonder that Swann is no longer gobbing off his bullshit, although we have had seven years of it, so no wonder he hides out of the way of the once 5,000 devoted supporters.

Our club is ruined with Swann at the helm, we no longer have a league team, no decent players, no ground, no money and down to less than 2,000 fans who are still turning up in hope of some kind of change, but this will not happen when a club is run by a Chairman that has given up hope, and the only change will be that the club debt will be getting bigger each week, and administration must be getting nearer week by week.

The past four years have been heart breaking for the once loyal fans that used to treck down to GP each week for years on end, for it all to end like this, for Christ sake Swann, we have had more than enough of your bullshit and management skills.

WELL SAID .. when will we flush this turd away ..?? so fookin sad to see what our once half decent club was . now total n utter shite

    In an ideal world

    keep
Warson (that wont ever happen he will leave)
    Grant (possibility)
    Delaney (unlikely)
    Rowe (possibility)
    Omally (possibility)
AND ALL THE DECENT YOUNGSTERS .. Cribb , Wilson etc

The rest due to being injury prone and / or crap can all go including paying off the likes of Hallam and KDT with Swanns relegation bonus.

Agre with earlier post … a lot will boil down to who wants to stay .. fear not im sure this is all part of Mr Hills master plan of rebuilding for the future , that seems to be the current phrase being touted.

Still wake up thinking this is all a bad dream …alas no

IMO depending how Scunny get on result and performance wise the attendances at GP (still refusing to call it TSVS) will vary from 1000 to 1600 allowing for the bigger clubs bringing a few in the away end…of course these numbers would increase dramatically if Swann was to leave.

Just because both Hill and Cox struggled at the club with the current owner, doesn’t mean Cox wasn’t doing a bad job. One may also speculate how bad things were before Hill came in after Cox in charge for a considerable length of time, perhaps leaving Hill with an impossible task under pressing circumstances.

Yes agree .. leaving Cox at the helm so long was a huge mistake .. Hill came in and hasnt changed results but should be given a bit of leeway due to what he inherited and lets not forget hes working with a huge nail in his boot in Swan .. at least it appears he isnt a yes man same as Cox ..

saying all above ..Hill may walk who knows especially if the club ownership changes.

another must win game slips by pointless … pointless being an appropriate word as it seems upon this terrible joke performance its pointless shelling out a tenna to go watch us whimper out of the football league.. well beaten by another bad side the scoreline should of been more emphatic than 1-0 .. yes another harsh red and a dikky ref but no excuses for SUFC matching up to the title of this thread.

I wish the season could end now , alas a few more stabs n kicks to come before we can draw a line under what has been 2 disasterous seasons ..

Sad to see Manny go .. a shock.

    Is Hill committed ??

Will we win another game . score another goal this season ??

Can some one please come forward n buy the club to get Swann gone.

Rowe is the nearest thing to a competent right back at the club at least until Millen is fit. Should be playing there until Millen is back.

Another 8 or 10 games and Matheson might show some promise but that is Wolves problem, not ours.

Lewis is the nearest thing we have to a competent left back until O’Malley is fit. Delaney is a decent left side centre back and needs to play there. He is an average at best left back so playing him there weakens us in 2 positions.

Onariase is our best right sided centre back. Not perfect but the best we have at least whilst we need to play Rowe at right back. Grant and Feeney have to play in midfield. Sinclair is now showing some attacking promise so play him. If Beeston is over his Covid problem then play him. Nuttall and Burns up front and there is our starting 11 until relegation is certain.

Once we bow to the inevitable we should only play people that will be here next season plus the people we would like to be here next season. Fill the rest of the team with our promising youngsters that haven’t already been tapped up by bigger clubs.

Tell the players they are playing for their pride and their future careers. Send the those who have not bought into getting fit and working hard on garden leave.

It’s a simple game Keith, let’s get back to playing it that way. If that frees up a bit of time for you and your coaches you could start looking for the dozen or so players you will need to find to keep us in the National League next season.

Above totally spot on .. it aint rocket science, im finding some of Hills selection and set up choices a bit iffy.. players playing out of position at random , maybe done to confuse the opponents, ITS NOT WORKING Keith
