thanks for that MK n Cass.. yep its been updated since i last checked.. sounds like we can scrub Hallam out the equation for several months according to Hills latest info on him.
Buzzin .. camorn Scunny .. any predictions for the Yeovil game ???
3-1 to the Iron would be nice
back to the football .. can some one please post an up to date SUFC season 22/23 squad list .. the mob we will be starting the season with ??? i done a search and some names still in there who i know have departed and some missing who have come in , seems totally not updated.
Thanks in advance.
August 4, 2022 at 12:33 am in reply to: Will Today be the day for the takeover to go through ? #241965SO THERE IS A CHANCE …. Loyd to Mary SWANson
i am felling a tad more optimistic re the Irons up coming NL campaign then i was a few weeks ago .. this is due to the club signing the likes of Butterfield , Whitehouse Daniel etc plus also the high probability of new owners in the very near future… all this in mind ive been watching all the YT NL prediction vids who ALL bar one so far(who has us 5th) have Scunny down for back to back relegation and oblivion along with Dorking Gateshead and Aldershot..
So my question .. surely we are better than that now ???? .. yes desperately need a striker or two but dont look like it will happen until after the season has kicked off now.
UTI
maybe he chose to sign due to his connections with the town … doesnt didnt he or his family have a fish n chip shop on Ashby Hight St ???, be handy after a a game to go work OT in the chippy to make up his money..
Pleased to see a striker coming , all be it with a poor record from his Hartlepool spell, lets hope he isnt feeding off scraps and batters our opponents in the NL… i will get my coat !!!!
Disclaimer … Carvers may have closed down its a long time since i was in Ashby.
oh dear .. how sad … never mind ..
beware the badge kisser .. im sure Cod fans will be gurning this morning , oh hang on they look like that all the time.

obviously hoping for the best start possible .. alas without a strike force to speak of im thinking circa 10 to 12 points after 11 will be where we are at… hovering just in that nasty spot too close to the relegation zone
An omen or not .. log into the FLASHSCORE website and go to the National league section and there is the table already listed without a game being played yet and Scunny sit proudly on the top .. take a screen shot it may not happen again for a long time.
without any further additions ..ie strikers .. we are relegation fodder n in for a real tough season
comorm keef sign a striker or 2 .. with some goals in the locker.mid table survival is the best outcome on offer as with this current mob no way can we compete with the likes of Wrexhan , Notts County Chestefield let alone Oldham Southend

SO THERE IS A CHANCE as Loyd said to MARY
that almost definately hopefully maybe possibly going through next week ..
wg .. glue is the poor mans high here 5555 av in all good DIY stores i use it for sealing my letterbox so bailiffs and CC companys cannot post their demands and hate mail..
Without strikers!!!
Lee.T sort this out asap because all your good work counts for NOTHING if we start the season with 1 recognised ‘bang average’ striker
The lack of recruitment up top is absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable!!!!!!!!
Spot on .. its a very worrying situation having one striker ..n hes is as you say average until proven otherwise.

Spoke to a couple of ardent Scunny fan mates who are home n away never miss typer guys they are looking forward to the start of the season especially the new places to visit away
As for me … Yep even though not based in Scunny the anticipation is killing me , the first game (Yeovil not an easy opener at all) and then the 4 or 5 games after that will define what our NL life will be like, its important to get off to a decent start …
new owners and a couple of strikers would make a huge difference to my optimism level.
Good luck to Hill and his ” new ” team and all the fans that support the Iron.
whoever it is / they are lets hope the deal gets concluded ASAP .. and he she or they have a huge lump of cash to invest and get the Iron on the up… possibly even a new ground ???

still quite surprised nothing leaked on twitter of SM as to who n how much.. the suspenders are killing me.
ordered mine .. home and white away ..now patiently waiting for Fed ex or the like to drop off hoping they dont go astray or get knicked by customs.

Could literally be anyone. Who envisaged Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney buying Wrexham or WAGMI United buying Crawley? Whoever it is I just hope it gets over the line pronto as this relationship with Swann is just toxic and needs to be severed!
IMO these guys buying Wrexham may have helped to make it trendy to buy a football club, there seems to be a certain element of glamour involved .. with these rich famous young blokes buying maybe (i hope) if the SUFC goes through it turns out to be people or a person with the wish to make the Iron great again .. to get rid of swann is the main benefit though , fingers crossed it all goes to plan.
still no goss or snippets on SM alluding to who and how much ???? fingers crossed a big unveiling of the new owners is coming very soon and Swanns taxi is ticking over at the side door.

this saga is not over until the cash is in the bank and Swann has left the building and is out of the club totally .. too many buy outs / takeovers etc have failed at the 11th hour and this is not different .. yes great news and im over the moon to coin a phrase ..but thats WHEN ITS ACTUALLY happened. until then fingers crossed ..in fact cross everything including yer ears.
IT WILL BE VERY INTERESTING TO FIND OUT THE PRICE ..

just watched this YT vid .. dont know if its been posted here already but here you go .. being as i have been out of the UK for a while i found it very informative re just how the club ended up so deep in the sh8t.. very sobering and worrying.
apologies if already posted and depresses any members even more.

Things certainly looking more positive now after the great signing of Butterfield … lets follow that up with new owners Swann out the door and a couple of new strikers coming in , if THATS IF all that happens my doom n gloom will have transformed into real optimism and with a good chance of a decent season.
Big well done to lads on the victory .. some positives .. especially scoring 3 goals in a game since .. god knows when ..hang on was it Oldham last season ??
if no intention of repairing the deceased scoreboard then it should be removed .. bit of an embarassment really.. a new one installed in the corner would be a better idea , suppose its down to budget again ..or lack of any plan to maintain the fixtures n fittings of GP…much the same as the team… one swallow doesnt make a summer as my old gran used to say.
Rumour is here ………. hes sold his bed n breakfast in Blackpool n decided not to sell up and invest millions in SUFC to push on for more future success and regain EFL status.
or not

been thinking for a while ..had to have a couple of pints ..n still cant name only one from my generation
Steve Cammack
Andy Flounders
Jamie Forester
Billy Sharp
Alex Calvo Garcia 1999Garcia a striker?
no just remembering his Wembley goal so dropped his name in .
Gainsborough trinity have signed Clayton Donaldson top scorer for York city last season… what a signing that is for their level… well done Bish!!
Meanwhile we’ve got one striker who might or might not score at national league level next season… crazy!!
Indeed an impressive signing and as you say its very worrying still all quiet on the striker front at GP.. comorm Keef get yer finger out
Just seen a piece on Talk Tv and some BBC bint jouralist slating the England womens team after their magnificent 8 nil win to reach the quarter finals .. apparently the team is TOO WHITE and lacking diversity as all player fielded and on the subs bench were white.. this is a BBC employee the national TV provider and IMO her statement is ridiculous … what next the Nigerian WC side side is too black… YCMTSU
