Watson- 2 needs to hang up his gloves, not a goalkeeper
Bedeau 4 getting gradually worse
Cordener 3 all over the place positionally, not going to make it as a footballer
Onaraise 7 did well whilst all around went missing, for a CB to get 7 in a 5-0 defeat says something
Spence 4 nothing to say about him, just jogging around doing little
Gillead 5 added little
Taylor 5 won’t be around long – getting absolutely ruined by this club
Hippolyte 0 I have never seen a worst performance by a professional footballer, including that fella Souness signed who wasn’t a footballer. Don’t bother coming back after the suspension
McAtee 2 I don’t know what move he thinks he will get playing like that. Another embarrassment
Loft 2 Just shit really
Jarvis 5 isolated one nice touch not his faultCox 4 not his fault but listening to the RH interview seems like he cannot do anything with this bunch and the fact he is starting out himself makes it worse.
Swann – should be nowhere near football
Good god imagine what the Swann committee trawler will scrape out of the footballing sea bed now.
Don’t forget Swann said these players are exciting…..
maybe Swann doesn’t get involved in the u23’s
Watson 5 still too weak, lots of long balls straight to the keeper
Hornshaw 4 not good enough for league football
Bedeau 5 too many basic errors
Cordner 4 very poor positioning and very weak
O’Malley 5 not his best game but should learn by watching how FGR played. I think he will learn more looking at how others play rather than learning from our manager (ironically)
Eisa 6 some good spots but needs more game time and confidence
Spence 6 basic simple passing – choice between attacking pass or pass back he picks the latter
Vincent 4 getting worse by the game and too much like Spence. Both quite negative players stifles any movement or creativity
Gillead 6.5 tried several runs but when support required nobody near
Taylor 5 started brightly but learned that nobody was making runs finding space or trying to dominate so started to become a busy fool dropping deep and appearing everywhere to the detriment of his attacking instinct. The player Vale had is a lot different because of the players he is playing with
Jarvis 5 isolated, good goal, keeper should’ve stopped nothing elseLoft 3 Awful awful positional sense has no idea where to put himself, passing needs work
McAtee 5 ok needs game time and sort his attitude
Beestin some decent touches not on long
Cox 3 mixed feelings; he’s been dealt a really shit hand with the players he’s got and those injured but I see no tactical nous or any ability to affect the game.
Swann needs to get a keeper RB and CM in on loan or other asap otherwise our only hope will be not finishing the season. Whatever he thinks will work, won’t. We need experience
We’ve got no evidence Swann interferes with the football management and I doubt we’ll ever know; what we do know is that McAll, Cox, and Hirst (maybe more) all stated 442 in the press but ended up playing the 352 which never worked and we also know that we have a whole heap of players that the Chairman bought without a manager in place, most of these players are turning in really poor performances on a regular basis. We also know the Charimam said these players are exciting….. I’ve seen more exciting knitting patterns
we’re being outclassed all over the pitch. Taylor must be wondering what he’s done wrong to end up here.
All of the Prawn’s signings are turning out poor performances on a regular basis. Surprising that!
I for one would like the club to help him out, granted I do not know the full details but a bit of faith in him would hopefully see him on the right track and perform to his ability. He’s done wrong but if he takes on board his punishment surely he can be rehabilitated.
If he’s got previous of assaulting a police officer then fair enough he’s had a second chance.
It’s a shame, I was at the Wigan Doncaster match when he scored and came off – the Wigan fans had nothing but good things to say about him and clearly just starting on family life. Sometimes there are deeper rooted problems that people need help with but sometimes they’re just wrong uns. Hoped Ryan was in the former.
He clearly needs help. Assaulting a policeman outside Taco Bell late Wednesday night (whilst drunk) points towards bigger issues. He can’t be in a good place at the minute
Day 1: I’m going to play crisp passing attacking 4-4-2 football and put the pride and passion back into the club
Day 2: Ernest: Can you come into my office Neil
Day3: We’re going to play (checks instructions) 3-5-2 with players playing in the wrong positions and then we’re going to rest/fall out with the talent and play attacking players in defence so they can use the ball more because we don’t like it in the opposition box.
I’ve seen all the games so far (league), all the teams have been shit. But we’ve managed 8 shots on target in 6 hours of football. We’ve had bizarre formations (Ernest Prawn no doubt) and mini fall outs with the best players. 4pts out of 12 and zero entertainment.
Cox still has time on his hands but for god sake play your best players in the correct positions, buy/loan a good keeper and right back (because Watson and Hornshaw aren’t the answers). The two best players on that pitch got moved to different more defensive positions – that just beggars belief.
It’s the worrying lack of quality. You can forgive Cox for having to put up with the Chairman’s signings (which are generally shit and what you’d expect from a non football type) but playing Gillead right back and sitting Taylor deep – which basically nullified any effect he had on the game is just extremely poor management
Here’s a jinx for you….Tranmere haven’t scored a goal this season in the league yet….
and square pegs square holes
I want Cox to be given plenty of time. However the main stream of revenue is ifollow at the minute and you can’t serve up that crap week in week out.
He has lots of wingers, use your best two for every match. O’Malley and Clarke when fit will be more than capable cover (assuming 4-4-2/4-5-1)
It was vital to get the three points so we move on….but we can’t repeat those tactics that we had for the last 25 minutes reverting to 8-1-1 formation no outlet. Let’s face it Carlisle were very unlikely, came across an inspired performance by our keeper, it won’t happen too many times and a goal by them would’ve put a huge dampener on it. Interesting comments he had about Eisa – he had planned for a defensive game. I don’t think he knows how to use his wingers
I fear we have a younger version of Wilcox. I want him to go back to the promises about attacking football getting it on the deck and quick passing. He’s got the full season to get it right so he needs to think about attacking and entertaining – his words.
Watson 9 3 excellent saves 1 spill in the box
Hornshaw 5 has struggled last two games needs to improve and we need Clarke back
Cordner 7 Solid enough
Bedeau 6 one slip should’ve led to their goal
O Malley 7 I like the look of him needs to get forward more
Hippolyte 4 offered nothing – what is more worrying is Cox kept him on the pitch
Spence 6 tidy enough
Vincent 6 as above
Gillead 7 good runs and positions but needs strikers with more positional sense in front of him
Hallam 7 good goal should have killed the game off
Loft 7 some good footwork needs to work more on decision making with passing and attacking in the boxCox 5 Even though its a win I have seen nothing I like about him yet, aside from the fact he’s local and ‘knows the club’ the tactics to date leave a lot to be desired. Carlisle lost that game (and Watson won it). He has plenty of time left but we can’t keep playing like this.
It looks like a really poor division with a lot of poor teams.
this is Swann’s formation – always has been.
If we can’t get at least a point against this dog shit then we are in trouble
How many players are bring others into play now?
A Greek goddess nonetheless
Man with money and no football brain plays football manager. Problem is the fall guys are club legends. It was a risk with a full squad, a threadbare squad with no rocks and a dodgy keeper is a worry.
Swann has apparently learnt lessons but it feels like we’re back on the same ride.
Didn’t he just claim Swanny was a sacker of managers?
Are they any further forward with seating details for a potential October start? Presumably DRE closed with home fans sat in away end?
Really disgusting stuff. Compounded by the Scunny groundsman saying all Scunny fans are the same!!
I don’t think he realised the seriousness of the issue and just threw his remarks in without thinking but pretty stupid thing to do
Swann playing football manager again – and failing again
It’s a real world problem we have a boring negative manager. He has neutralised the clubs best assets – assets worth a lot less under his tutorship. All I want is Russ to go back to U23’s – if that is still a thing – and a young attack minded manager with good connections (Mcsheffrey) to come in. Prize money for finishing 6th or above a lot better than 23rd or 24th. I get we have to be frugal but settling with a negative manager who is easy to play against isn’t being careful with money, quite the opposite.
It’s the perfect storm – Wilcox in charge with a young side with severe shortage in all defensive positions. If we are going with youth then we must have a different manager. I can stomach the risk of going down cheap youth option – I cannot stomach Wilcox in charge in any scenario.
Clinging on to the ‘he got us promoted’ tag line isn’t going to wash. You are only as good as your last game – Cods at home, 5 at the back, wingers neutralised. Embarrassment.
