Should change the back 4 and we’ll be quite solid,. I sense we are on the cusp of a championship run. We’ve got a lot of home games coming up and a few easy aways.
When you say hostile takeover, of what? The business isn’t really a business that is investable right now so have the existing board split over something? Has the new CEO gone off in a different direction? Has Scunny Bunny instigated an MBO?
I wouldn’t want to be part of any club that would have me as a member

They had a good cup run and are doing well in the league? I thought you were only allowed one?

Fitz was ‘enjoying a drink’ in a pub in Notts last night, hopefully he recovered in time. I don’t blame him mind, you need a coping mechanism in this league.
He’s up there with one of the worst signings for the club. Unless he is given penalty duties (and even then it’s not guaranteed) I cannot see him scoring a goal for us.
Spennymoor beating Rushall 5-0,
Williams missing again in squad line up. Not in the 5 named subs

If we didn’t have Fitz we’d be mid table at best. Some of the saves he makes are league class. There has been the odd clanger but few and far between. If we lose him next year and we’re still in this league then the sort of keeper who we’d attract would be of significant lesser quality.

If he’s good enough he’s old enough, I think he’ll be good for us
All Beck needs is 1 goal to get going, however as he’s not on a 4 yr contract we’re unlikely to see it here.

They said promotion is a must this season. Another season in this league serving up dross is going to be the death knell of professional football for the town.

The score is 0-0 when matching the two. Both are very limited but we are in a terrible league so we aren’t going to have decent managers knocking on the door.
Sounds serious, never nice when players sustain serious injuries. Was the dodgy pitch to blame?
We’re heading into postponement season with the clubs having difficulty preparing/protecting from the weather (we’ve always had issues at that away end which gets no sun). Our fixtures will start to pile up as well, do we look to bolster the squad as we’ll be hitting Saturday/Tuesday consistently (should be an advantage against the part timers). I’m assuming that as our home form on Saturday is poor that the Tuesday results are good.
Best first half performance for some time, the subs sort of put paid to any shape and attacking intent second half but the first half made up for it. 9/10 performance 1/10 pitch quality – looks dangerous to play on

I really do not understand the lack of utilisation of the loan market. I would hope, heading into winter, we look to bolster the squad
We’re lacking goals and creativity, Roberts gives us both. Butterfield’s stats last season were remarkable (even when he slowed down)and Roberts this are good. I can’t see Williams being fit long enough to get any consistency and if we get £80k for him (just a guess) then another year in this league will cost double that when fans lose patience.
What I don’t understand is where are the loanees? We were told the squad would be supplemented with loan players, have we had any? Would be a bad move to let him go unless it’s silly money being offered.1 user thanked author for this post.
Hereford got a tonking, and were the better team v us last week. Curzon could have been well clear but now slip up conceding for fun. It’s a very poor league so there are still opportunities for us. We’ve played by far the worse football I’ve ever seen us play and we’re one win off top! We need to start scoring more freely and from other players to maintain our chances

Not having been for a while I was disappointed with the pitch on the edges, not really up to standard, whether it was a bad season I don’t know – I’ve seen a few others not quite up to scratch. They probably tried to etch out a sponsors name and mucked it up.
He needs to finish of his statement…. and if you don’t score you never win.
I think Butler has got it in his head that we have to play drab football and get out of the league by snatching 1-0 wins. Let’s face it he hasn’t got a hope in hell in the NL, especially playing however the hell he thinks we’re playing.
I don’t rate him but then again half the squad should be playing on a Sunday morning not Saturday afternoon

I didn’t see a 4-4-2 I saw a 4-2-3-1 with Beck the ‘1’ who was isolated first half flicking it on to nobody. That’s the second match I’ve gone to this season following a season ticket last year – logisitically it’s not ideal to attend matches but I’m not missing much. 1st half no idea what the strategy was, just looked completely aimless all over the pitch. Second half slight improvement but Hereford were the better team in that game. The keeper made a tremendous save first half that was goal bound. I think Butler comes across as extremely limited, tactically, in his interviews. Keeps banging on about clean sheets, which is great when we actually score, which of late has not been happening. I don’t think he knows what formation to play, he again talked about nullifying them – which means he is not setting up to our strengths. Very loud boos from where I was sat. It’s too cold to sit and watch that rubbish.
The outside noise comes from pretty poor performances in what is a poor league, the voices of some of this outside noise parts with their own cash to follow (and save) the club. It’s a slippery slope to try and instil a them and us when the ‘them’ clearly weren’t performing (simple 5 yard passes as en eg) and the us the people who keep spending money and donating to the club.
At least OT does challenge and if Andy wants a career in football management at any decent level you’re going to have to get used to being challenged with questions you might not like answering.
Let’s see how they play v Hereford which is now a very important fixture.2 users thanked author for this post.
If it stays like this it might be curtains for Butler.
Thankfully they’re professional footballers so should come back second half with crisp attacking intent.
It struck me as odd they got rid of Rosenior, he looked very capable and intelligent in his comms with RH
If we’re going for Bond Villian owners I’d take Scaramanga, at least he had something interesting to talk about unlike Musk.
Relatively speaking we are a big draw – for those knocking about the upper echelons of regional football we are appealing – but no more than that. Anybody with league/professional football aspirations need not apply. However I would welcome some footballing experience into the building because we have a team of well meaning non footballing people running the club.
