Any conformation Hilton and his family got abused, or is it all Social Media Talk?
If that is true, then it is poor form. How did a club official manage to come into contact with fans leaving the stadium? Did Hilton leave on the whistle or did the fans wait for him to leave the stadium?
Calling people names, verbal and physical abuse is childish and such behaviour shows people up for what they are, lacking both respect and an education.
As you might have gathered, I am no fan of Hilton but the pen will always be mightier than the sword. In times like this it is always best not to give people an exit route.
Wonder Goals – A nice easy one for you this morning, what do you estimate Hilton’s net worth to be?
As I have said before, owners of loss making football clubs have to have deep pockets. Such individuals have sufficient wealth that they are not reliant on a bank or a third party funders, they are the bank. In other words, they buy assets with their own money which generates them a return.
Where is the money coming from, which Hilton said would be in the form of donations/share capital as opposed to loans?
You appear to be confident a deal will be done, so tell those with concerns how it will be done.

Ask roderick langham what he thinks of him
Iron Insider, I’m intrigued by your post above and I will tell you why.
I have found a screenshot on social media of an historic tweet by “hiltonsgroup” who alleged to have been in dispute with Rod Langham.
Can you add anything further?
Hilton, as he’s called now, also took a gamble on himself, and now he is in a right mess, searching for capital everywhere he can, offering that which he doesn’t have as collateral.
I believe the modern terminology is a no money down deal, at least none of your own. In my day, it was called not having a pot to piddle in.

‘false accounts looking to divide opinion between the majority on here who are loyal Scunny fans’
Talking of ‘false accounts’ I-A, you and other non Twitter users / observers ought to know that a number of new Twitter accounts appeared a few weeks back threatening Iron supporters critical or sceptical of the new owner and suggested plans. Pretty nasty stuff. They came and went pretty fast. Those accounts have since been deleted. Pretty unprecedented stuff as far as I’m aware. Think it’s useful for non Twitter users / observers to be aware of this amd the wider environment.
After spending most of last night doing a sweep of Twitter, it certainly throws up certain patterns of behaviour.
You might find “hiltonsgroup” (more about that later) of interest. Remember to view by Top, Latest and Photos for the screenshots.

, CMCWonder what those who choose to make snide remarks about Sharp and Elliott’s wealth or lack of have done to help save the club recently?
I’d be amazed if its costs any of them the thick end of 200k.
Most of those commenting wouldn’t have the first idea how to calculate an individual’s net worth. Too many people talk a good game but by the time you have deducted what the banks are into them for, they are worth the thin end of nothing.
The supporting evidence is they couldn’t wouldn’t come forward with a bid that the owner would accept, Kirchner was the preferred bidder for the administrator at Derby he couldn’t come up with the funds, so the local man slipped in at the last minute, happens all the time. Don’t really get why snide remarks aren’t allowed against St Simon and Ian yet perfectly acceptable for Hilton the man who actually bought the club guess it’s a scunny thing? You’ve got to admit Swanny played a blinder there suckering them for a months wages, even if you do hate the man, they weren’t even clever enough to put the money in as a loan fancy gifting Swanny the thick end of 200k not really the kind of people I would want to run the club.
For all the mistrust of Peter Swann and the desire to see the back of him, it surprises me that you and others have sufficient trust in his judgement to select the club’s next custodian correctly. Generally speaking, unpopular and outgoing chairmen usually do their best to ensure their successors do a worse job than them. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if there is a clause in the sale agreement that if Hilton reneges on the terms then ownership transfers back to Swann for a nominal amount.
Given the duration of negotiations, it would suggest to me that the sale of the club was done on the hoof. No professional advisor would put their name to any due diligence (if any was conducted) in such as short space of time because their professional indemnity cover wouldn’t allow it.
As for Simon Elliott, Ian Sharp and their consortium, you don’t know the terms of their offer, you just know they were unsuccessful. In these situations it is good practice not to upset the locals because they are usually to first to sign a cheque when it goes tXXX up.

Your post is an excellent one, constructive criticism is always good, not that you have been very critical.
You are correct about me knowing Mr Hilton very well, therefore it can be frustrating to see criticism from all quarters for just about anything he does, or doesn’t do ?
Your assessment of the gamble he took to stay up is 100% correct, and your other thoughts are spot on as well.
If you and any friends want to visit Ilkeston anytime you are very welcome, I have some wonderful ideas that would benefit both our clubs (innovative pioneering interaction that someone like yourself would quickly grasp).
I am the catering manager at Ilkeston, which you see if you visit?, and not Mr Hilton masquerading as someone else, as has been suggested by some on here.
Ilkeston is a hive of activity everyday of the week, so any day is fine to see the running of the club, and if Mr Hilton is left to get on with things you may well find Scunthorpe will follow the model we have…. self suffient, susstainable and a very positive buzz from the staff, players, and most importantly the fans.Welcome, Pat.
Catering Manager? Now that has put a smile on my face because the last time I saw you, you were in the back of a van (no, not that type), a burger van.
Your loyalty to Hilton is beyond question though I will take into consideration who you are related to and that it appears you have one eye on some catering gig at Glanford Park.
However, may I refer you to this website (https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08456806308) which was started back in December 2011, long before Hilton’s links to Ilkeston, Bury and Scunthorpe. I’m not sure “troll” was even a word back then either.
There are two names mentioned within the thread which you will be familiar with. I would like you to look at one particular post by an “Andrew Nally” on page 23, dated 30/10/14. Can you offer an explanation or some insight relating to what the poster “Andrew Nally” was referring to?

What has peaked my interest is the period of inactivity following the petition served by the Secretary of State For Business Innovation And Skills to wind up (in public interest) Guardian Property Corporation Ltd, a company under the control of David Anderson. From that petition being served in December 2013 until November 2017 there was no activity for David White, David Anderson or David Hilton. My sole focus now is the period of inactivity.
Look, just cut it out. Wait until the deadline is up and see if the takeover is completed, if not then speculate all you like but until then stop with all the speculation.
Really, it’s not wanted nor needed.
Why are you so defensive and desperate to shut sown discussions about Hilton? What are you frightened of? There will be no prizes here for backing the wrong horse.
My advice to you, stand up straight, pull your trousers back up and have some respect for your football club, but more importantly have some self-respect.
IB do you live under a bridge and have a keen interest in Billy goats? I suspect you do.
There you go with the insults again. I await your defence.
Can’t you seriously give it a rest with this bullshit ?. I’m wary and remain sceptical until the deal is fully completed and it’s in Hilton’s hands but all this armchair detective investigation work is taking it too far.
Taking him on face value if he has every intention of fully completing the takeover, is all this rubbish by Interested Bystander going to want him to even complete it ?
I suggest you wait until may24th to see if the deal goes through and then if it doesn’t for whatever reason you can speculate all you like but don’t be doing it now !
You call it rubbish and BS but you fail to even offer any sort of defence.
If you want to continue with your head up your ***, please carry on.
IB will get back to you when he’s typed up some more bullshit for you all to absorb.
If you intend on questioning my information please have the decency to offer some defence. Claiming something is BS or no comment is no defence in my World.
Interested bystander, have you any other links for the David Anderson information, won’t work for me, this is very interesting, thank you.

Calling longstanding Iron supporters trolls and the other abuse is out of order, end of. Not helpful, divisive and inappropriate, to put it politely.
To label an individual a troll is just a lazy thing to do. It merely acts as a defence mechanism to deflect attention away from the difficult subjects that have been raised.
Contributors on an internet thread 13 years ago – trolls.
Supporters of Bury FC – trolls.
Supporters of Scunthorpe – trolls.
Perhaps the problem doesn’t lie with the trolls.
First of all I will make it perfectly clear that I am not a Scunthorpe United supporter, although I am a football supporter and have a keen interest in the wider issue of mis-management in football and the reasons behind the demise of some clubs. Sadly the club that I support has suffered from gross incompetence, mis-management and I suspect, probably worse.
I listened to the recent interview with David Hilton and a few things raised questions.
1) To buy any football club you need deep pockets, Hilton acknowledges the point in his interview. Most people with substantial wealth, the sort required to own and finance a football club have a business background, a clear path of how their wealth has been accrued. Given that Hilton is 45 years of age, I would expect some trading history of at least 10-15 years and for the companies under his control to have a balance sheet with a positive net asset value of at least 7-figures.
2) Hilton’s previous name (David White). Again, Hilton acknowledges his previous name but fails to explain the reasons for it other than it was personal. From my experience, most people change their names for two reasons, they don’t want to be found (in Hilton’s case we can probably rule this out given his involvement at Ilkeston and at your club) or they don’t want to be associated with their past.
3) Hilton, in the closing part of the interview states that if there is any evidence about him to bring it to him so it can be discussed. For me, this was a peculiar thing to say.
4) Companies House, Google, thegazette.co.uk, social media and Credit Reference Agencies are usually a good starting point for any supporter wanting to conduct some basic due diligence on those involved with their club or those who are looking to get involved.
5) If you are unfortunate to hold a senior position at a club, say Director or Co. Secretary you can usually submit a background request with a Police Force and related agencies with varying degrees of success without too much trouble.
6) A simple Google search of David White and Andy Nally (name of current Chairman at Ilkeston) throws up an interesting thread (https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08456806308) dating back to 2011. There are 23 pages of this but they are worth persevering with.
7) Judging by Hilton’s comments, there is clearly an element of mistrust that exists between part of your fanbase and him. He would be better addressing those concerns by explaining the reasons for his name change, his business background and how he has accrued sufficient wealth to purchase and finance the day-to-day running of a loss making football club because it is far from obvious in my opinion). If he fails to do so, the concerns of the silent majority will grow to being the suspicions of the majority.
Keep your eyes peeled and I will wish you the very best of luck.
A few of you have mentioned the name “David Anderson”, here are my findings to date:
1) Hilton’s date of birth is 09/10/1977.
2) I have found a David Anderson with the same date of birth, who held at least two, possibly three directorships.
3) The beauty of some of the old filings at Companies House is that they are handwritten.
6) I will let you form your own opinions on the handwriting on both forms.
7) If you search the official Gazette for Guardian Property Corporation Ltd, it produces the following result (https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/L-60707-1953344).
“A Petition to wind up the above-named Company of 37th Floor, 1 Canada Square Canary Wharf, London, England, E14 5AA, presented on 12 November 2013 by THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR BUSINESS INNOVATION AND SKILLS, c/o Howes Percival LLP, 19 Spring Gardens, Manchester M2 1FB in the public interest”.
This is highly unusual to sat the least. From my experience, petitions served by the Secretary of State For Business Innovation and Skills in the Public Interest are as rare as hen’s teeth.
I will try and pull in a few favours to establish the reasons behind the original petition to the Court.
Well at least he admitted to using another name, white, but did he use 2 other names too, mellors and Anderson? I wonder why someone would need to do this? Don’t seem right to me, maybe another question to ask him.
In regards to Anderson, I’ve been working on that today. I’ll have more to report later.
Also similar ‘Maxwell Cohen Limited’ with 6 outstanding charges against it
Never mind the charges and the deficit on the balance sheet, their accounts were due for filing at Companies House on 31/03/22, so nearly 13 months overdue.
Hardly a sign of good corporate governance.
Ask roderick langham what he thinks of him
Another name not without some controversy.

IRONFROMAFAR – We will no doubt get on like a house on fire because I specialise in detecting the bull variety.
Interested Bystander – The alarm bell is already ringing for me and with some others but it seems the majority are relieved the club seems to be saved and don’t want to look too deep and are happy to accept what he says. Time will tell.
The majority of a club’s fanbase just want a team to support, only a minority are interested in what goes off behind the scenes and the backgrounds of those who are involved. As I see it, the questions about Hilton are not going to go away, it’s in his interests and one assumes in the best interests of Scunthorpe United if he answers those questions.

Going back to Hilton’s proposal of moving the footballing operation to Ilkeston, just what was he thinking?
Football clubs, players and officials have an important role to play in the community. Good clubs, with good community structures interact with their fanbase away from the club because commercially it makes sense to do so. How did Hilton intend on building relationships and the fanbase from Ilkeston?
I’m undecided whether this boiled down to commercial naivety and a lack of awareness on Hilton’s part or a sign of what is to follow.
Did I also hear Hilton say that he’s hardly at Glanford Park during the week? I would expect a new owner of a struggling club who is committed to its survival to be visible and leading from the front.

Interested Bystander: good points raised. In all honesty, most of us are conveniently avoiding these questions as we all know it’s probably not going to make for a nice read. A shame we don’t have a strong local newspaper to follow up these leads anymore.
I’ve spoken with Ilkeston fans and their reviews are nothing but positive, in terms of evidence, that’s all we can really form an opinion on at the moment.
I may be wrong ( and I hope I am wrong), but I’ve got a feeling in my gut that things might go tits up when the ground completion is due.
Very few local journalists have the appetite for it, those that do risk being banned by clubs or ridiculed by those unable to acknowledge the bigger picture.
