Nor me, but I’ve supported the Iron since 1953.
I think that Suetonius mentioned a “cithera”.
Yes, I do know that Rex died. We attended his funeral.

Steve is, and always was, a gentleman.
I knew Rex much better (having married his wife’s bridesmaid and played the organ at their wedding) and his legal expertise and enthusiasm were always appreciated. Times have changed, Steve and Rex have left and look where we are now. It all starts from the top.1 user thanked author for this post.
One was a gentleman whom I knew quite well.
This is not acceptable against any criteria. I hold firstly Swann and secondly Cox responsible for this wretched performance. At this rate, we are going non-League. After supporting the Iron for 68 years, I do not anticipate doing so for much longer.

I shall not be attending. I have no time for the Board because it comprises three members of the Swann family and the C. E. O. whom they pay. There can be little diversity of opinion. By the way, other former Board members still have large sums of money in the Club.
I wish the Club were being run “as a hobby” (Swann’s own words, as I recall), as it allegedly was under Wharton.
I am thinking of writing two books:
1. How to run a Football Club and
2. How to ruin a Football Club.
Whom should I choose to help me?
It is unfortunate that the Chairman has at various times alienated many fans by his actions, “Biscuitgate” being one of them. How petty!
Swann didn’t want to run Shareholders’ Meetings in the past so I ask myself why has he changed his tune?
In the words of T.S.E., “Descend lower …”. Sorry, we can’t because we’re already bottom of the F.L.!
Here lie the thoughts of an ex referee who has supported the Iron since the 1950s and, if we’re not very careful, F. L. status, too.Good start – not! Typical.
So sad, but so true!

I wouldn’t argue with you. I am INCENSED at what my Club has become.

As many as that? O. K., but then that’s it.
We were so much better when the Club “was run as a hobby.”Don’t we know who is (or isn’t) pulling the strings?
When’s the funeral?
Surely we can win. We’re at home, the sun is shining (in Newbury, at least!), we’re putting out a reasonable team v. one which, like us, doesn’t shoot well so come on. FFS, score some goals!
For fish and chips, I rate very highly Scalinis in Ravendale Street, Scunthorpe.

A fairly tight match. Three positives: we came from behind, we scored from open play and we got a point. A few negatives e.g. we need a striker, greater penetration and more cohesion.

Very worrying!

Hell! I read this initially as 15 miles!
He was 77 which seems about right to me.
It looks as though it is Tom who has died. He was a good chap, a pig farmer from Amcotts iirc and like Steve W. and others ran the Club “as a hobby”. They were far happier days, weren’t they?

Hard luck, Ferrite! It’s cold up North.
I went from the University of Durham by ‘bus in 1969 or 1970. It was a cold, wet Friday night but we won.
In the late 50s, the team trained at App. Frod. Jack told us where the pen. was going and we had to stop it. Happy days – and a real gent.
Sad to say, there have been very few “highs” but very many “lows”. As a shareholder, I am not happy with the way the Club has been run, and that starts with the inward-looking Board which has no room for outsiders (except for the C.E.O. who, of course, is pais by the Board.

Are the Swanns on the list?

If you Google “Scunthorpe salaries”, there are figures mentioned. How accurate they are, I don’t know.
We’ve had a shot. It was not on target.
Look at tonight’s result:
Harrogate 5-4 Cambridge
If only…!But Bob did play the ball.
