If that price quoted for your club / land is correct you shouldn’t have trouble finding a buyer, surely the developments around that area off the m181 will see the price of land increase?

My team Southend have a chairman who has turned down a reported bid for £100M to buy the club and development for the new stadium

As a Southend fan I sympathise with your situation, we face a winding up order on the 18th, it’s close to our 20th winding up order, (still unbeaten vs HMRC), as long as the HMRC have a reasonable expectation to get paid in full they will adjourn.

If however they have no realistic expectation to recover the debt they may be more aggressive.

This winding up order will put you under an embargo in this league, hopefully your takeover can go through and you can clear the debt.

Southend 2million shortfall expected this season, averaging 5700, backroom staff not been paid since October and then when they did Southend trust loaned them 40.000 pounds to do so, winding up petition by the HMRC on the 18th, from the sounds of it we’re not far behind them the only difference is their fans haven’t deserted them in numbers like ours actually, similar to most clubs most fans get behind their teams when the chips are down.

Hi as a Southend fan I thought I’d provide a bit of an update, our staff are being paid they are however being paid late which is obviously not right.

Quite simply our chairman has major cash flow problems which should change by the end of the season. Our new training pitches are complete and we are literally waiting for the grass to grow before we can use them.

This will mean building work on the new ground can begin which will allow more funding to be available, the properties to be built as part of the new stadium, around the new stadium and at roots hall will generate close to half a billion.

Realistically we fully expect our chairman to sell up once we are in the new stadium, there is so much I’ll feeling towards him now that he will never be accepted by the majority of the fan base.

I hope your takeover goes through and you have a bright future even if you have a hell of a battle to stay up this season
