Hypothetical Deerie. Do you have any examples of his grey activities?
I don’t disagree that he only paid it back because he had to (and quite rightly) although I doubt many people who had been made redundant would be concerning themselves too much on whether or not their council was losing money (I certainly wasn’t).
What about the mental health of the people on the end of his fraud?..That’s who I feel sorry for.
I understood from Hilton’s interview earlier today that the fraud for which he was jailed was against national and/or local government bodies, hence there aren’t likely to have been any private individuals directly affected by the fraud.
You could say that as taxpayers we’re all affected but Hilton did say that the he had to repay the £68k obtained through his fraudulent actions, so no effect at all on the general population.Captain – Michael Clunan.
I can’t imagine it being anyone else, after all he was the captain of last season’s runners-up.
Cosmos staying at Brackley, announcement on club website earlier this afternoon.

To be able to read his tweets without being a follower as Samways said earlier.
Just follow him what’s the difference?
Aah, if only it was that simple. Much like WG I tried to Follow Neil when he first became a fan director, like WG I’m still ‘Pending’.
Marcus Barnes, last played for Oldham in the 20/21 season, don’t think he made many appearances or scored any goals. Ex Southampton youth player loaned out to Eastleigh and Yeovil in L2. Not many goals to his name in senior football.
Unfair to judge without seeing him so no further comments. What we need and what we’ll get are two different things. The club is working on a self sufficient budget based (reputedly) on crowds of 2000. Don’t waste time looking at EFL players, they’re out of our reach.

Without doubt you’re right, the same as it has been for the last 2-3 seasons. But, unless you know better, there isn’t a manager in the country who could have improved last seasons squad. As the old saying goes ‘you can’t polish a turd’. And we can’t keep changing the manager every 6 months or so, what makes you think that’s the answer? It hasn’t worked so far for Swann.

Looking for bites or are you really as stupid as you appear from your post?
What part of the post is stupid? Am I missing something?
If you need to ask then yes, you are missing something. Without tackling the root cause of all our problems there is nothing Hill or any other manager can do to change our current plight.
I’m surprised that people are surprised at Hill. In all of his interviews last season he was dull, boring & uninspiring. What made you think he’d change?
Blind optimism? Straw-clutching?
Don’t forget Robins as well.
In fact Scunny fans haven’t liked any manager since Adkins, and many on the old Bru site wanted NA sacked during and after our first relegation from the Championship.
In all my years watching Scunthorpe I think only Ron Suart escaped criticism (probably because he got out quickly). Didn’t Keith Houchen call Scunthorpe fans a miserable set of moaning bustards, or something similar.
Edit. Sorry, this was meant as a reply to the marty303 post.1 user thanked author for this post.

Yes, totally agree with all of the above tributes.
Among many great players from our halcyon days, Barrie Thomas, Noddy and Ken Jones were at the top as far as I was concerned. You only had to see Noddy bearing down on some breakaway attacker to know that unless he passed it quickly, then the attack was over and Noddy was going to dump the attacking forward off the field of play.Hill comes out and says he needs to change the mentality at the club. I think he needs to change his own mentality regarding players after the way he has treated Oliver Lobley. This was no way to treat a youth player or any player come to that. The lad plays his debut is subbed early in the match and then released. If I were Tony Daws or his parents I would be devastated and fuming as the lad must feel. If this is how he treats players this is another reason why Hill should be gone.
Have you any knowledge of discussions between Lobley and Hill? If so please share, it could be illuminating.
Alternatively, if it’s just your take on the situation it is quite possible that you are very wide of the mark. Here’s the info from transfermarkt.co.uk not guaranteed 100% accurate but it’s a guide at least. The 6 loanees will obviously go at the end of the season, the rest listed below are all out of contract.
Bunn

GallimoreTaft, Millen, Perry and Hallam are with us to the end of next season. Harry Lewis signed until the end of the 23-24 season.
No info on Feeney, O’Neill and Jessop.Gregarious? I would have said gargantuan.

Well, I’m one of the missing 1000 and the reason for this? This is the fourth season of crap unentertaining and losing football and I’ve had enough wasting my time and money on a Saturday afternoon, I can find better things to do with my time.
I have no interest in the doings and utterances of the chairman, I’m only interested in what is happening on the pitch, when things improve on the pitch then I’ll be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.11 users thanked author for this post.
BS – Hull are a Championship team. Burton, Lincoln and Wimbledon are L1 teams, we beat Burton and Wimbledon and lost against Lincoln. Hope that clarifies things for you.
Cameron Wilson is one of our own, comes from Goole I believe. Was offered (and signed) a pro contract at the end of last season. I’m surprised that you haven’t heard of him.1 user thanked author for this post.
It seems to me that there is a widening gap between what fans want to see and what coaches/managers provide.
We’ve been stuck with this boring style of football for three years or more now and I guess it’s not likely to change anytime soon.
The inevitable result will be the demise of small clubs like ours as fans prefer to stay at home and watch the Premiership superstars or lose interest altogether and find other interests. I find myself increasingly in the second category.Heard rumours we are considering selling him.
Wouldn’t be surprised, it’s what we do. Probably better for MO’M as well, he’ll likely develop better away from a club playing crap football and involved in a relegation battle.
Sell Eisa? We would be lucky if someone just took him off our hands. He’s been poor and shown little interest in playing for us since Hurst left.
…
Who’s Hurst keen on, Butroid/Dales ?
Jake Taylor
Burney, I think you’ve misread CBRGs quote in Keadby Iron’s post. Either that or you’re guilty of a selective misquote.
And replaced by Karacan already.
That’s right CT and that’s why very few (if any) of these players will ever play higher than L2. Two poor, poor teams.
I’m afraid that the widespread fans of Man U feel that their club (which they worship from afar, mainly in front of a TV screen) has a devine right to win the premiership every season. If they aren’t at the very top then sack the manager, (like every other club’s supporters I suppose).
SanFran, how do you know that Cox was targeting the Southend game? If Cox has said as much or you have other proof then fair enough, if not then it is only your opinion.
So, he rests 3 players on Tuesday and you complain. He brings the same 3 players back today, rests Clarke and replaces the injured McGahey and still you complain.
These aren’t changes for the sake of it, he’s trying to manage, what is in reality, a very slim first team squad while beset with injuries to senior players. Van Veen and Brown out for 2-3 months, McGahey – don’t know yet. Clarke has to be nursed along and even Olamola is out for weeks.
I suggest that you try to engage your brain before posting.Apart from Clarke (rested today) Howard and Onariaise, we are now back to the squad that was available earlier in the season – and we all know how that went.
BS, why should we, supporters limited to (at best) watching on TV, know the reasons why Neil Cox made the changes he did? Were the players carrying knocks, not fully fit, etc. McAtee for one has had a stop/start season. Loft has played most games and run himself into the ground in most of those games. Playing twice a week and all the problems associated with Covid-19 means that there will be many more changes to the team than usual.
Oh, by the way, calling the manager ‘this Cox guy’ only shows your ignorance.
