The weasel words of the minister who refused to condemn this booing were absolutely appalling. No wonder this country is in such a terrible state with such cowardly, gutless leaders.

It is similar to the PRIDE events and marches, I have no room for men marrying men or things like that, but have nothing against them doing their thing in either privacy, or as in Hull where they advertise their parades, so anyone like myself can just stay away and let them get on with their beleives, this way we are all happy and it is not being rammed down our throat by taking place in front of people that do not attend. Does anyone actually think that it has any effect what so ever, and if so, how??

What ARE you on about? If people should express their love in private, what does that make weddings?

How can somehing be rammed down the throats of people who do not attend?

I would be more happy with it if the heading was “ALL LIVES MATTER”

That is literally the point of BLM. They are saying “all lives matter, including black ones which currently don’t seem to count in the eyes of the law and wider society”. That’s the only point that’s being made: “we want equal treatment”. What’s wrong with that?

Far more importantly than new signings, a few new contracts could make a big difference in January…..

If football and politics should be kept separate, presumably we need to keep all the soldiers & other people in military uniform out of grounds every November.

Politics is part of life, it’s not just what happens in Westminster. Given how our game has been hijacked by people to make a quick buck, I think it’s a good thing that clubs are still doing something to help improve society.

Only just noticed it’s a stupid 1pm kick off, won’t be watching in that case.

Even if you doubled the number of stewards, which seems unlikely, it wouldn’t cut into matchday costs that much I would have thought. You might lose out on some food sales but then again you wouldn’t have to buy in so much stock. I can well imagine that clubs at our level will earn quite a bit less than in normal times but I’m not convinced they’d actually lose money. Of course, I could be wrong!

How many did they have in? I can’t believe that up to 2,000 would run at a loss. How many more people were they employing? It’s not like they normally get 20,000 at the Abbey!

I like the white away kit but we are a claret and blue club, one of only four out of the ninety two in the professional game, let’s keep our traditional kit for home games and be proud of our identity.

    This!

Got Saturday-Tuesday games for the next couple of weeks, might be necessary to change the team around a bit, can’t really see us picking an unchanged line-up match after match. I wouldn’t play Clarke in this game, for example.

Of course, the reverse of this argument is that if our players are harder to see, they will be harder for opposition players to pick up, so they should be unmarked.

    Or… it makes no difference!

I can see a possible argument that shirts which match the seats in empty stadia might be an issue, one which many clubs would have to deal with.

    *Looks at record for 04/05, 06/07 & 13/14 seasons*

*Looks at colour of home kit*

Yes, wearing claret & blue at home is clearly the problem.

Won’t be coming back, we got 10 players for his salary!!

Players is a generous word for some of them! But you make a good point.

He’s got a few vacancies to fill apparently, no manager, several other coaching vacancies too!

Might be getting a new boss soon as well.

Football has no morals, clubs will overlook any shortcoming in a person’s character if they’re good enough or important enough. Just look at how little mention there has been of Maradona’s behaviour with women & his own children in the last week….

Well, WG, I did a bit of research and discovered that Will Swann is a 23-year-old who Neil Cox has apparently worked with for 7 years.

One poster was particularly strident about it. I think the majority realised that time was needed.

It’s ok you saying that Cliffster but we have a manager now who appears to have zero tactical nous and not one jot of positivity in him.

Cox approach to games is really depressing.

It’s one thing to not have options but to have options and willingly go back to a formation which didn’t work before is another thing entirely.

I won’t call for his head but I can’t see it working out with him. I personally don’t think he’s a good enough manager.

    We shall see !

No, it doesn’t sound like you’re writing him off!

Weren’t you the excitable poster on here who was calling for Hurst to be sacked in August of last season?

One thing about these conspiracy loons though – imagine if the government was even 10% as organised as they’d need to be to implement all these grand plans that Alcy and his ilk claim they have. Christ, this lot can’t even order some flipping masks without getting massively ripped off!

Bringing up Thalidomide is doing the tin hat rounds. Saw it several times on social media yesterday.

Also, and I know it’s not worth engaging with conspiracy “theorists” because they’re not dealing in rational thought, but just because something was believed to be the correct option at one point only to subsequently turn out not to be, it doesn’t mean we should never do anything again.

If a player missed a penalty because he slipped while trying to put it in the top corner, does that mean no player should ever aim for the top corner again? Should Mark Howard never come for a cross because he dropped that one at Exeter?

Do you remember Dagnall? Used to run all over the place, chasing back into his own box at time, never stopped working. He also missed lots of chances because he was breathing out of his backside from all the running around!

Lineker was a master at conserving energy and just making the runs he needed to make. Unfortunately, these days forwards are asked to do so much more work with “pressing” and so on that Lineker wouldn’t have been able to play like that these days.

Test 1000 people, find 6 “positives”, not much to worry about.
Test 100000 people, find 600 “positives”….oooh, oooh, the rate has gone sky high, better lock down…

So we can add maths to the things you don’t understand?

So some clubs will benefit from home support but not others!

Hardly a level playing field is it?

Should be everyone or no one IMO.

At this level, maybe so, but in higher divisions there are far bigger problems in the game that make it unfair than just fans in the ground or not.

What would be good would be if gate receipts were pooled until every ground can be opened, so that all clubs benefit. I know, I’m only dreaming, but if the game were run properly it would happen….

I’m sorry I drove you to such excitement IA!

You’re right to a point but footballers only have so much energy – why waste it on fruitless runs into the box when you know the ball isn’t going to come?
