From what I’ve seen recently some physicality and legs in the middle of the pitch is what we need most. We’re weak in the tackle and get cut through time and again, if you don’t control the middle of the pitch then you can’t control the game.
We’ve surely got enough options there? Shrimpton & Pugh not getting a look in, Beestin in & out the team, feels like there are people there who can freshen things up in the middle.
The question is, what areas need strengthening?
From what I saw on Saturday, I’d say Ogle needs a rest, and someone to play on the left-hand side would be helpful. And maybe someone else to add competition up front?

I think he’s talking about Saturday 3pm games which aren’t usually available in the UK.

I believe he’s pointing out the schadenfreude of Harry kane moving to Bayern to guarantee a trophy on his CV, only for Leverkusen to go on a 31 game unbeaten run and beat them 3-0 this weekend to move 5 point clear at the top.
It’ll be funny if Bayern don’t win the league, always with when a big club gets a taste of normality, but I don’t get the Harry Kane angle. He’s such a bland, vanilla character I can’t really have strong opinions about him.
My thinking is that my UK phone with my UK provider would prevent me from watching our games on NLTV?
I’m thinking that in order to watch the games, I may have to purchase a phone & SIM card of the country that I’m in?
An overseas wifi network will have an overseas IP address so that should be fine.
You’re not human if you’re not laughing
Why’s that?
But will any potential buyers be willing and able to match their current (apparently generous) wages bearing in mind the level they’re likely to be playing?
Who knows? But I can’t imagine that, say, Fitzsimons has harmed his market value this season.
Adkins used to defend poor performances and have you coming away thinking “we’ll be fine” because he’d have that way of making you believe in the team. I can’t imagine Dean having that effect.

Realistically, I would expect any contracted players to be available for sale this summer, I can’t see how we will be able to avoid that.
How is where we are the clubs making ? There is no way the club wanted this. The club has been reduced to this by people who were failures ! They took it out on the Supporters and did it by nearly driving the club to extinction !
Because the club existed before the current ownership and because the fact that we signed a bunch of high quality players in the summer heaped pressure on us. And indeed previous owners led us to a division where we were the huge pre-season favourites.
Correct. Butterfield needs a rest any way. Pugh will probably be more suited away from home so not too bothered and it gives Butterfield’s legs a rest.
Literally just had the best part of a month off.
Looking forward to finding out what Clunan does, because I’ve seen him a few times and I still can’t work it out.
Wot?? The grip of Brussels has been broke, the foreigners are goin and we are soverin and free. Im standin proud n loudly declarin Brexit the best thing since WW2.
Les and the jonnies were on the money. You must be so glad you believed their propaganda on ere. I deeply regret bein cynical and warnin of the damage. Just look at us now. Go Britain!
And you wonder why people voted Leave.
Own worst enemy suggests we are actively sabotaging our own success, I’d say we might be a victim of circumstances, some of which are the club’s own making.
Any clues?

I hate to think where we would have been without him, would the club have survived that first winding up petition questionable, if some Savior had come in at that time would we be in second place in the league, yes just second with the professional squad we’ve got questionable, with an average crowd of over 3900, now let me think i mean Swanny was leaving us debt free or was I dreaming.
If you only you knew what you were trying to say.
Back to the opening statement CMC… the performance on Tuesday never cost us 1700 to 1800 fans or £30000. We were never going to approach 5300 on Saturday ..even if we’d won on Tuesday. A good win might have given us a 4500 crowd on Saturday at very best. It was a dire performance. It’s cost us fans, money and momentum .. but those figures are an exaggeration out of dislike of the Manager.
100% this. If we’d beaten Tamworth 5-0 on Tuesday, I doubt we’d have got close to 4,500 against Rushall, it’s just not such an attractive fixture.
Subbed on for the last 10, managed to get a booking for kicking the ball away. Never change, Kev!
So the Rangers feal fell through ?
Not sure that was every more than paper talk. Kilmarnock is an interesting move for him, they’re having a great season, having beaten both of the Old Firm, they’ll be wanting KVV to help them get into Europe next season.
You only get 5 subs. You need a keeper and at least 1 defender. So who are leaving off the bench out of Whitehall/Elliott, Sembie-Ferris/Beestin, Pugh, Law/Wilson?
10th club, not sure he’s played 50 games for any of them.
Not sure what the point of this post is? So the guy was taken in by a conman and was optimistic about the future? He’s hardly the only one. Why the victim blaming?
Stuart’s admitted his mistakes, his gullibility around Hilton, and is trying to make amends. I don’t understand why people keep wanting to re-litigate the past?
Better than Daniels or Gilks? Not sure about that.
Gilks was ok but Daniels was terrible.
Good player at Mansfield, didn’t do so well elsewhere but we had about 19 midfielders at the time
Took us apart, along with Liam Lawerence, in a 5-0 gubbing at Field Mill one way.
Was it Rochdale where Laws got involved with fans when he was still player-manager?
I don’t like Dean and don’t rate him as a manager but we don’t have any choice but to stick with him, there’s no way the club can be paying off a manager in the current financial position.
As for the selections, they said on Humberside that it was touch & go whether Sembie-Ferris would be available tonight, so on that basis it makes sense to start with him on the bench, so you prepare the team without him.
Whitehall’s exclusion really surprised me but he has just become a dad, plus he’s been out for several weeks, was he really in the right mental & physical condition to start? The one that really gets me is why Boyce has been dropped when, for my money, he’s been the stand-out defender this season.

It’s lose and the play offs.
12 points is definitely not insurmountable with 17 games remaining, especially as Tamworth would have 15 games left.
Was that the, shouldn’t really mention his name, Darren Deadman game?
It was. Must admit, every time he came back he was fine, and indeed I have a lot more time for him after I saw him referee a Donny game the day after Billy Sharp had lost his young baby. When Sharp scored, he took off his shirt to show a T-shirt with a message to his son, and Deadman made sure he was looking the other way. I know people will say that there’d have been a riot if he’d booked Sharp for it but something not dissimilar happened just this weekend and the ref showed the player a yellow card.
You might be right. Would have been one of his last games for us.
That late goal was so deflating after a proper rear guard and mighty lungs from Andy Keogh,if I remember rightly.I just didn’t think Oldham would score.
And they shouldn’t have done – there were two clear fouls on Joe Murphy in the lead-up to their equaliser.
Not sure about the Andy Keogh comment but our goal was an Oldham OG.
It’s gonna be a tough match and I would go so far as to say, if Tamworth win this I think they’ll go on to be league champs. They just keep winning and with that record, would be deserving of the title too.
Reminds me of *that* game against Oldham in 2007. We were neck & neck with them going into the game and that late Oldham equaliser, against our 9 men, with all the injustice of that match, really felt like a huge blow for our promotion hopes.
Yet fast forward to the end of the season and it was Oldham who never really recovered. They only got another 27 points in the final 20 games of the season, meaning we finished 16 points above them.
It just goes to show that, important as tonight is, nothing is decided in January.
