Bitslot just been blocked on my phone.
And on missing Sargents icecream, I also miss Riley’s crisps. Susan Riley was in my class at ‘Hendy Av’, and everyone really looked forward to her birthday parties, crisps heaven!

I was 11 too, my Dad had moved job from Gunness Wharf to Leeds when I was 10, and we watched it (in black & white) in the front room in our house in Leeds. Like many, the German equaliser so upset me, when I heard the ice cream van round the corner (Mr Softee – not a patch on Sargents) I went out & bought one. Returned in time to see the goals go in, happy days.

Poor Neil, we all knew he was having some personal problems, but I’d no idea it was so dreadful. Hope you manage to get over it OK with time Neil.

On the positive side – we didn’t get beat today :-)
Ffs……:-(
Me too Les. Not at all enthused with the drive from Cottingham to Scunny to watch what’s been offered for the last few seasons. And now losing regularly in tier 5.
Footy now for a bit will be tier 9 North Ferriby, nearby, fiver in for Jill, £3 for me.
Can’t believe I feel like this, born in Scunny, walked past the ground every day going to Hendy Ave school. Moved at 10, STILL attended when I could, and regularly last 20 years.
You’ve really done it for me and many of the diehards Swann.
PLEASE go.4 users thanked author for this post.
We’re walking on gilded splinters if we wanna stay in NL fellas…
Bucks – expecting humble pie from Swann. Don’t hold your breath.
And yes Swann, I’ve heard your pontificating first hand, eg ‘we won’t be relegated’, ‘I’ll do what it takes’.
Talk’s cheap. F off.

Good point well made Ferrite….I quote:
‘The Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act 2022 restricts ground rents on newly created long residential leases for single dwellings such as a flat or house to a token one peppercorn per year, effectively restricting ground rents to zero financial value’.
There’s still the rental income or sale proceeds to benefit (I assume, from what Swanny said) the Club.

Leanne Mayo remains as a Director but is no longer CEO?
Is Lee Turnbull stepping in to the CEO role?
What’s going on?No Chairman, no CEO – what next?
No players…..

Way things are going at the iron, you’d think the owner was ‘Thick as a Brick’ (no slight intended here….)
Just had a McDonald’s you know what it’s like,greasy fingers,smearing shabby clothes.
We’re sinking that fast we need an Aqualung!
Be the odd game for us Les, but North Ferriby are at tier 9 now, and a lot easier to get to from Cottingham train as well, so ok for a few pints). Dead cheap admission too, so we’ll watch a few games there. Les Hare, their owner, is a top bloke too, he’s put his heart, soul & money into that club over the years. Maybe he could do some training events….

Welcome words from you again Cap’n.
Swanny, take heed. Sell up and eff off.

That poor young lad, I really feel for him after that. After a super debut from him last week, what the hell was KH thinking, fielding such an inexperienced side with a rookie keeper? As a consequence, he’s shipped 7 goals, his confidence must be shot to bits. Not good KH.
30 October I said ‘I think we’ll exceed a -50 goal difference but not as bad as -60 (surely???). On 24 points now, we’re never gonna hit 30 the way we’re playing, might scrape the odd draw so prob finish with 26 or 27. I can’t see a win in us I’m afraid’.
Well, I was nearly right – but MINUS 61 goal difference, WTF???
Today a total embarrassment to anybody involved with the club ffs. To field such an inexperienced side shows no respect to the name of the Club, the opposition, the remaining teams in the division where our game could impact on their final position AND OUR TRAVELLING FANS.
Things have gone very badly wrong at our beloved club, and it needs major rebuilding. As a start Mr Swann, for everyone’s sake, don’t mess about, do the deal and DO ONE.
With a hugely low bar, he’s won the player of the season awards and improved immensely this season.
I think the amount of practice he’s had with the number of incoming shots he’s had to field given no ‘hold up’ forwards, no midfield and a variably reliable defence has helped!
Unfortunately towards the back end of the season he reverted to the Watson of old, and came out with a fair few right howlers.
At League 1 level – good luck with that one. Hope the lad does well for you.
I’m so gutted about relegation it’s like a Poison Arrow through my heart…
Sorry all, covering some old ground here, but he’s come out with so many statements publically (some of which I’ve personally heard), many of which have just not been delivered on, including…’we won’t be relegated’…I’ll do whatever it takes….I’ll pay the EFL loan off if needs be’…’we’ll have spades in the ground in the next two weeks’.
NONE of these were delivered on Mr Swann. Why should we believe you now?

I can concur that there has most definitely been a circus there.
Usually on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday night.
…isn’t that the walking football Awaywego mentioned?
April 23, 2022 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Keith – ‘some didn’t want to play today fearing injury’ #236306Does Hallam fit in to this category.
KH said he couldn’t play because he’d been in hospital as he’d had an allergic reaction to his booster.
I wish the lad well, but ffs, you couldn’t make it up could you?

2-0 @ 5/1 is the shortest correct score with the bookies – so I’ll go with that.
Well, good luck with that one Renee – 2-0 already :-(
