Revenue streams at a football stadium are many and varied. I stopped using the car park several years ago after the final game against York – stuck for nearly 2 hours. I stopped using the catering after queueing before half time to be told they’d run out of burgers. I stopped treating myself and my son to executive tickets after they withdrew the free car parking option. I stopped using the Iron Bar after they ran out of all draught beers apart from Strongbow and were charging £4 for a Guinness served in a plastic glass. To say our current chairman has experience in hospitality does beg the question as to the definition of that word. Well it means -‘the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers.’ There you go. Not sure what it will take or me to stop paying to watch the team – after nearly 58 years perhaps I’ll give it a bit longer. Just think with a little bit of attention those streams could be a lot more lucrative than at present. I work in hospitality and I have to say that the current set up at the ground seems to generate complaints rather than revenue.

Most of the folk that post on here have NEVER been in the game at all but can see what the problems are.
All our kits seem to be migraine inducing at the moment.
25 games in 3 years at Killie so he should be nice and fresh. At 6’2″ could he be covering CB as well as FB?
Yes if you are pretty poor in 6 positions (including the bench and the treatment table) rather brilliant in one, then it’s a shoo-in!

Maybe he thought Sutton was from Sutton-on-Sea!!
Not a chance, and if the did sign anybody they will probably name and parade them in July wearing the new shirts.
New shirts in July? – now that would be a bonus!
Clearly, there are basic levels of competency: trapping the ball, accuracy in passing, not gifting possession, grit, determination and a little vision.
This seems to be a word for word opposite of the criteria we have been using.

CT, the quote was attributed to Einstein, –
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”About sums Cox up.
I think Thomas Edison’s quote might be apt here also. When accused of not making many discoveries, he contered – ‘On the contrary, I have discovered HUNDREDS of things that don’t work’.
IF Loft turns up, I think this is the best we’ve put out so far. Let’s get McGahey fit and we may see a corner to turn – then we’ve got to turn it.
As there are only 2 choices and sacking hasn’t worked on the past several occasions – let’s try backing for a change.
Should we form a ‘succession list’ of ‘Bru’ members in case anyone else goes down?
The large one no good then?
I have a large one (no – really!) if you are interested.
What size are you after?
Agree with all the above BUT why can we NEVER apply pressure to our opponents? Why do we allow them so much possession? Why are we never on the front foot and in their half for long periods?
Loft again the stand out player for me – although I did detect a slight drop of the shoulders in frustration before he scpred his scorcher.Disappointed to see no 4-4-2 attacking formation that we were promised, but for a young team in their first game, a point seemed a good return for their performance. Not convinced Newport are anything special on that showing but the next few games may tell us more. Onwards and upwards Neil! This now needs moving to ‘non-football’
As what?
The 2 Bournemouth lads looked good. Loft looks a real find. Still need a keeper who can marshal a defence and dominate his area. Most disappointing was that for the last 10/15 minutes we wre playing in our half and not their’s – and at home.
I’m in.
Some ‘modern thinkers’ may regard 4-4-2 as ‘yesterday’s tactics’
First came across Neil reffing him playing U13/14 for App Frod(Alan Cooke’s team)They were winning all their games by large margins, mainly due to Neil and another talented lad Wayne Sykes – who joined him as apprentices at the iRON. Fast forward several years and one Saturday we heard that Neil had signed for Villa and was flying out to Hong Kong to join his new team mates. That same afternoon I was reffing Wayne Sykes as he turned out for Swinefleet in the Scunthorpe Saturday League. Such a fine line between these two highly talented youngsters. Wish him all the luck in the world – he may need it!
