Although Nelson has made a good fist of his interim role, now is not the time for sentiment. Trust in the new owner until he gives us real cause not to. He has indicated that new players will come in the next 2 weeks. United we stand. Up the Iron.

He did say our Club would be in a better position when he left than when he took over and also that he would give the stadium back at some point to our Club.
Aye – and Neville Chamberlain said ‘peace for our time’ – and he had a signed piece of paper to prove it!!
Dewhurst,Arblaster and Lavery possibly not the best.
Add O’Meara and Reeves and that completes the set.
Loved Perez, amazed nobody’s mentioned the keeper that turned out to be the best we ever had.
Think you’ll find 2 of us already have.
Seen most from Ken Jones til present day. All round confidence I would say Matt Gilks. Favourites were Joe Murphy (of his time, though I think he owed part of his golden boot to Crosby and Foster), Geoff Barnard – smiling through the thick and thin and who could forget Lionel Perez?

“..carvers may have closed down.”
New owners ,but it’s closed for two – three weeks due to a fire!Hope he’s not left fighting for scraps then….
Twice – once to Grange Over Sands for a week at Easter to catch the Good Friday game in Morecambe (1-1 – Winnall), and again to Clyst St Mary in Devon to get within 50 miles of Plymouth (4-0 – Madden 2, Morris & Hopper )

My ‘mole’ assures me he was misinformed and the announcement will be made tomorrow. (I did say ‘tomorrow’ in the original post). If it isn’t then I will hang my head in shame forever more. If it is then I retain the right to crow for a short while.
Masterstroke! – 2 players in one and saves us wasting money on a back up keeper.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jan/17/scunthorpe-united-bristol-city-league-one-match-reportHe’s tried the kids over and over. Why not put all the duds and no hopers and the ‘scared of getting injured’ brigade in if it’s a no hope game. at least that way we’d have got some satisfaction of booing some of those who deserve it – then again I assume our owner wasn’t there.
Graham Rusling – Fox St end on the goal line and put it over the stand!
Didn’t Stuart Pilling score in the first minute?
Yes we timed it at about 12 seconds – I was doing the ‘shot list’ for Harold Caine the photographer who was filming for Yorkshire TV. We were positioned at the bottom right corner of the cantilever.

Calvin Andrew
Can’t see it. 35yrs old and only played 11 games in the whole of 2021. I know Hill used to love him but I think he’s expired now.
Over the Hill then?
The Milwall game is also memorable as they had a good side. Some of the Millwall nutters dressed as surgeons!!
Known as ‘treatment’ if I remember. Another set of morons went by the name of ‘F Troop’.
There’s a documentary somewhere about them.

But hey, he’s an astute businessman, he knows what he’s doing.
Sadly – this may be true.

Not for me.
He has absolutely nothing to gain from a career standpoint in coming here and I Don’t want to see another Scunny hero’s reputation ruined.
But have Neil’s inadequacies as a manager ruined his playing reputation? I would say not. Similarly Nigel would be in a win win situation with regard to his standing as an Iron legend. Let’s not forget when he left he hauled Southampton from the bottom of league one to the premiership. His reward was to be replaced by Pochettino, albeit after our then Chairman said that the Saints weren’t a club he would recommend doing business with – perhaps Nigel should’ve heeded his advice.
No! But Henry VIII was shagging Jane Seymour whilst Ann Boylen was having her head cut off!
And now Steve Bruce can afford to shag anyone he wants while his ex bosses cut anyone’s head off they want.

October 19, 2021 at 7:31 pm in reply to: PL clubs vote to block sponsorship deals linked to a club’s owner #216042Won’t make a scrap of difference. Club owners will remove links to any sponsorship money well before any scrutiny. These guys (and gals) are always at least 3 jumps ahead. Sometimes that’s why they have so much money.
You make it sound like Swann putting the club up for sale will improve our performances on the pitch!
…and him not doing so will what? Can’t make them worse, can it?
Isn’t it indicative of our current plight that Rory is now considered our pick of the crop over a mish mash of jobbing journeymen ill coached and ill managed, who can be neither bothered nor incentivised into earning their wages. What a sad club we have become. Leaderless, adrift and without any focus whatsoever. Come on UTI99 – spin this!
And I’m sure a reply of ‘Zzzzzzz’ won’t cut it.2 users thanked author for this post.
The manager’s summary in his interview was ‘pityful’
Don’t think anymore has to be said – other than he seemed overly nervous and on the brink of saying something he shouldn’t.Going well isn’t it?
We’ve got Ivan Toney ………….we’ve got………
One change is all that’s needed and it may not necessarily be the current manager.
