We are not going to stay up, and that is not the fault of our new owner & manager we all know that, the damage was done with our recruiting pre-season and selling the only players scoring goals during the season.

What’s done is done, we need to focus on the things we can change which is building a side that can win promotion from the NLN at the first time of asking. If we can pick a few wins up in the remainder of this season for us long suffering fans then its a bonus.

Great move by Turnbull. Going to be a much bigger crowd there tonight because of it being a Friday.

Why would the crowd be bigger because it’s a Friday?

So you never mentioned the pies

No I mentioned the catering outlets having nothing to sell and a line of customers with money in their pockets and nothing to spend it on.

No mate I was critical of the astute businessman that is Peter Swann telling us fans we needed to support the club more and then when the fans turn up with money to spend, they had nothing to spend it on whether that be a pie, a replica kit or a match programme to name but a few!

There you go again, Pat, making daft accusations. It’s pointless trying to have a discussion with someone who claims people are lying when all they’re actually doing is offering an opinion.

Accusing people of hating someone’s wealth, having agenda’s and saying I said catering was the biggest issue with the club under Swann is not having opinion’s it is telling lies!!!

Unless I have missed a post I have not to this day seen an apology to those of us you made those accusations against!

The gambling problem was nothing to do with the new ground not getting built, I and others told you at the time it was never, ever going to happen and was not needed. I asked you at the time how was it going to be financed and I’m still waiting for an answer all these years later, it was a pipe dream by a fantasist that you were sucked in by!

I listened to the Gainsborough supporters and they were 100% right, I placed my reservations about Swann on here from the off about Swann because I took the time to speak to people that had dealings with him at Gainsborough and I was ridiculed by you and many others that have long since crawled back under their stones like the cowards they are!

Jimmy will get my 100% support as will David Hilton, he has come in and told us how it is and what to expect instead of barging in and making wild promises that anyone with an ounce of intelligence could see was never going to happen.

Saying I think Nelson had done enough to be given a shot at the job until the end of the season is not moaning, it’s having an opinion!

Pat’s the one who should be put in charge of catering, not me.

On that note, did the pies run out at half-time?

Hilton’s been in charge for less than a week and already some are moaning. Nothing really changes.

Still trotting out your pathetic lies, instead of apologising to those of us you accused of things we hadn’t done or said??

Strikers that score goals are at a premium at the best of times, let alone when you are half way through a season and odds on to be relegated from the conference, hence why the only two players we have had this season that were scoring goals have both left.

It will take a masterstroke to get anybody prolific in our current situation but more than happy to proved wrong.

The Borough of Glanford disappeared in the mid 90’s, name change is long overdue in my opinion. The Jack Brownsword Arena would get my vote.

I think that’s how management structure/chain of command works for most people in the real world.
He who pays the piper and all that.

The only problem with that is Football is not the real world. In the real world Managers do not get paid off for failing and then walk into another job very quickly. If you treated your customers in the real world the way lots off football clubs treat their supporters you would be bust very quickly!

The point is that a CEO of a professional football club cannot be seen to be in any way condoning the breaking of ground regulations.
What if he turned a blind eye to the following ones for instance?
“Racial, homophobic or discriminatory abuse, chanting or harassment is strictly forbidden
and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”
“The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result
in arrest and/or ejection from the Ground.”

Nobody asked him to condone the actions, but he didn’t need to go as far as he did. A simple ” I completely understand the fans frustrations but a pitch invasion is not the answer and we as a club cannot condone it” That’s it, that all he had to say.

Our long suffering fans have had enough to deal with without our own Chairman threatening them with police action!

As for the wages being paid late, I would wager Lee’s were paid on time?

From what I’ve read, it looks as if Mr Hilton doesn’t have sufficient wealth to take SUFC back to the EFL.

Getting back to the EFL is a long way off, we are going down this season we just have to accept that. For me I am more interested in somebody coming in to steady the ship, make us sustainable again, improve the relationship between the club and supporters and putting a competitive team on the pitch. Once all that is sorted we might be able to think about getting back our league status.

Right now I would take a season of mid table obscurity and enjoying my Saturday afternoons again.

A big no thank you from me, Phoenix Club with Ian & Simon involved would get my vote, if they were interested of course.

Once this draws to a conclusion, I get the feeling the gloves will be off.

Well the gloves appear to be off on this forum already

The gloves don’t need to be off between us supporters, people just need to stop talking crap about stuff they know nothing about! None of us know what finances Ian, Simon and consortium have/had available, none of us know for certain what Swann wants for the club AND the land it’s all guesswork from the usual suspects.

I wanted them to buy the club and would be over the moon if they had, but you know I always believed they hadn’t got the dosh.

You know nothing more than the rest of us, you and Burney talk utter bollocks thinking you know what funds they had or didnt have!

I said the other day I would have wanted Sharpe and Co to own the club but Swann wants what he wants for it, rightly or wrongly and they simply couldn’t afford it.

Who says they couldn’t afford it Burney? You seem to know hell of a lot more than the rest of us about Ian, Simon & the consortiums finances, or is it just BS? I know what my guess would be!

They started pushing ? For no reason?

You would have to ask the stewards involved for the reason, unreasonable to expect me to know another persons reason for their actions.

I am only telling what I had seen which was fans down at the wall and being shoved by stewards.

can you call it a peaceful protest when punches were raining down on stewards at the beginning?

Punches raining down is over egging the pudding a bit, that said any violence is too much. From what I saw the stewards started the shoving which then escalated.

but think he was angry when he wrote it

Not as angry as the supporters that entered the pitch on Saturday which could easily have been avoided with a bit more communication from LT, I have no sympathy for him, he is reaping what he has sown. He has nailed his colours to the mast now, we now know who’s side he is on and its not the LONG suffering supporters!

    what else can he say,

He could have said, I understand the fans frustration, but a pitch invasion is not the answer and left it at that, all the rest of bile he spouted was bang out of order, he’s lost my support now he can piss off with Swann as far as I’m concerned!

We was having the upper hand.Looking to fight back. After this the players lost the plot. The game came close
To be called off. Would they have paid the fine the club would have received from there pocket money ?

Your right, best bet is to sit on your arse and do nothing while the club goes to the wall like you and the old farts whinging near me!

Lots of peole making suggestions for others to action is typical Scunthorpe fans.Just do it if that’s what you want to see happening.

Unless posts have been removed I have not seen lots of people making suggestions for others to action? I have seen people suggest a go fund me would be a good idea and suggest that The Iron Trust would be the best vehicle for this but that’s all?

And what exactly is meant by typical Scunthorpe fans????
