If you don’t respect people’s right to hold their religious views then you’re not just disrespecting Christians but all religions.
I respect everyone’s right to hold whatever religious views they want, just as long as they respect my right to think that believing any God existing is utter nonsense.
A very wise man once said there are thousands of Gods, I just don’t believe in one more than you.

John Gayle was worse than 1 in 12 but look how he transformed our scoring.
I have been begging for such a style of player for more than five years.
Just gotta hope he’s good enough. Dean seems to think so.100% get your point Les and I completely agree about John Gayle, I was a massive Torpey fan even though a lot of our fans slated him, it was no coincidence whoever played up along side him scored goals.
My point is I thought we already had that in McDonagh, if we were going to sign another front man then for me it needed to be someone to feed off him.

A goal every four and a half games is not what we need right now, I am struggling to understand the sheer numbers coming in at this stage of a season, it must cause confusion amongst the players? It’s certainly confusing me!
As I said on another thread, the amount of new signings we have brought in need a pre-season to gel and find the best combination, not a relegation battle!
n 18 year old Rooney bagged a hat trick on his Man Utd debut.
And scored at 16 against Arsenal I think it was. Michael Owen was lightweight all his career and it didn’t affect his ability to score goals, put a big and nasty along side him to do the dirty work and it doesn’t matter how big he is.
As a legendary Manager once said, if they are good enough they are big enough.

Elliot’s – Not had enough time to judge
Ferris – See above
Shields – See above
Will Smith – See above
Everton richards – See above
Leake – See above
Bunker – See above
Chapman – See above
Big Gez – See above
Fewster – See aboveTo be fair since Dean has come in he’s improved, he’s much more positive now when it comes to getting forward and taking shots on. Limited but he’s more than good enough for this level.
Ha, Ha! that’s not what you were saying when he left! I said at the time Pugh was a good player, unfortunately for him the players around him were not!

As many others have said, I would have preferred Nelson till the end of the season and then re-evaluate, I think Nelson had done enough to earn that opportunity. That said Jimmy is here and I will support him and judge him on next season, not this.

Daniel needs to be in at LB
Based on what??? He’s been garbage in 99% of games he’s played.
Seems like Dean has one way of playing and doesn’t really deviate from it.
He’s had 3 games, hardly any time to deviate from anything.
Christ on a bike, we were relegated before Dean arrived give the guy a chance, I will judge him on next season.

Had we managed to nick a point at Wrexham I would agree 4 points from the next two would be ok, but for me 6 points from these games is a must now.
And I’ve been saying it should be L2(N) & L2(S)!
Either way it would make sense.
Agree NI, the away games this season have been ridiculous, localising fixtures for smaller clubs makes good sense all round.

I wouldn’t go that far fans!
As others have said, great idea in principle, some questions to answer though I’m certainly interested.
Pat mentioned joke, good one on scunny Facebook, Grimsby school teacher asks her class Which football team do you support, hands up if it’s Grimsby town, the whole class except for one boy puts their hands up, who do you support John, the mighty iron miss, why them, well me mum and dad are from scunny and I will do the same, well you don’t have to copy them. What if your mum was a prostitute and your dad a junkie and were brother and sister, well miss I’d do the same as you and support Grimsby town.
That “joke” was doing the rounds in the OSG days.
Cannot disagree with any comments on this thread, it was a fantastic team performance, Butterfield was my MOM, far too good for this level.
“all things the Swann lovers told us couldn’t be done at our level.”
What, both of them?
It was a lot more than that in the early days, it took a long time for a lot of fans to see Swann for what he was.

You know the comments you tend to come out with “women are only fit for the kitchen” type ones, I know they’re just throw away
“jokey” comments but a certain poster called iron awe takes them seriously and goes into mini meltdowns so just be mindful of that. And here lies the problem, when people think, sexist/racist/homophobic comments are just “throw away comments” or “just a joke”!
It’s not that many years ago that people thought throwing banana’s at black players was funny!

saddened to hear this news and now knowing the circumstances maybe he would have been better stepping down and away from the his role at the club at this terrible time .. having had two members of my family commit suicide, they say time is a great healer alas to this day my thoughts are never far away from both these very sad times in my life.
Tough one as a lot of people deal with grief by throwing themselves into work, we all deal with things differently.

The whole feel around the club is on another level from the Swann years, more staff in the bars, more stock in the refreshment kiosks, matchday programmes back, people leaving the ground with smiles on their faces, advertising board spaces full, new colour scoreboard, and all this achieved in a few weeks, all things the Swann lovers told us couldn’t be done at our level.
Just goes to show what can be done when a REAL businessman gets involved.
Only down side for me is that Pat Junior is now making my matchday experience more expensive, but at least my money is going to the club I love.

The Irony of some of the comments on here astound me! How many posters on here think they know better than professional managers who have actually played the game at a decent level? I can name two on this thread alone, you then have the nerve to have a pop at a female for doing the same thing as you do, but it’s ok cause your a bloke, right?
We need to go into the last 16 games with the intent to win ALL 16 games. We cannot pick and choose what we want to win. We need to be 100% positive hence the 16 game winning run.
Out of interest, and I know this is not your point, but which games do you think a team goes in to not trying to win?
Every game I watched under Hill we were always set up not to get beat rather than tyring to win.

Boyce
New Guy
O’Malley
Wilson
Butterfield
Beestin
Sembi-Ferris
McDonagh
Elliott4-4-2
doubt it, those paying for exce seating ain’t gonna be happy if the fan paying for std seating is allowed in there
But your paying for exactly that, a nice padded exec seat?
Never mind it was just a thought, I was very surprised they shut the bar under the stand, it was always busy and must surely be more use as a money making bar than a store room or whatever its used for now?
Well how many goals have we conceded from set plays and crosses this season.
No good if he’s tall but can’t really defend though, we need both size and ability.
Yep because big centre backs with ability are queuing up for a relegation battle in the conference. We need to be realistic as to who we can attract!
VAR probably would work providing you didn’t have clueless morons using it.
Ridiculous comment, mistakes will always happen when left to human interpretation, we could all sit and watch 10 random penalty decisions and there is not a cat in hell’s chance we will all make the same decision, doesn’t mean we are morons, we just interpretate things differently.
Or in Hallam’s case twenty minutes!
Harsh! He can’t help being injured.
Still doesn’t change the fact he’s always injured though, does it ?
I don’t think I said it did, did I?
Some bell end was having a pop at me when I said after the Chesterfield away game I thought Daniel had a poor game. I got a reply saying leave him alone and have a word with yourself he’s only a young lad! I replied saying you obviously weren’t at the game as Gallimore didn’t even play I was talking about Colin Daniel. I never got an apology and when I asked for one I was blocked. I can only guess it was Bucks or UTI as they are the only two I can think of that are not man enough to admit when they are wrong.

It will take a massive effort certainly, but our chances are much better than they were 2 weeks ago.
I disagree, with the amount of new faces we have we need a pre-season to find out our best team, Jimmy has to find his best team in the middle of a relegation battle. Not going to happen but over the moon to be proved wrong.
