He’s had a good season, but I’d be surprised if he stays in the football league.
I wouldn’t be surprise if he stayed in the league, I was one of the very few on here singing his praises when 99% of others were blaming him very week for crap performances from the team. He is a very good goalkeeper, makes the odd mistake but then so do the best in the world.

only if it was Man United, that would be funny
Never ceases to amaze me how far Liverpool fans will go to have a pop at Manchester United, Chelsea owner gets sanctioned and they still find away to bring United into it. The obsession is getting a bit silly now.
my wife wouldn’t dare comment on the whys an wherefores of football
What a lucky lady she is!
Can hardly blame Swann for the shirt issues, we’ve been with enough manufacturers and they all seem to be as bad. What would you do Pat to get the shirts here earlier? when you tell us perhaps you could tell the commercial department as well I’m sure there just as frustrated.
Is it they are all as bad or is it that we don’t place our orders soon enough or get the designs signed off early enough??? I don’t know the answer but I find it very hard to believe that its the manufacturer at fault everytime, how do other clubs manage to do it?
As for Deery’s point about giving the Iron Bar staff a mouthful, its not their fault that there are not enough of them to cope, and certainly not their fault when the run out of draught lager as they did a few weeks back!
Jesus Christ is this bloke on a wind up or just unbelievably thick???? NOBODY IS MISSING THE POINT ON WHY WE ARE GOING TO BE RELEGATED, THERE IS ONLY ONE COMMON DENOMINATOR AND THAT IS SWANN!!!! THE OTHER POINTS MADE ARE ALL ACCUMALATIVE ACTIONS UNDER HIS WATCH, YOU MUST BE ON A WIND UP BECAUSE NOBODY COULD BE THAT STUPID THAT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT!!!
Running out of pies is one thing, running out of everything with a massive line of customers with money in their pockets is another, so shut your mouth about bloody pies because the only one that EVER mentions them is you!!!
Replica shirts are a massive revenue stream for EVERY football club, HUGE profit margins and if you get the marketing right (i.e. have the bloody things available to buy BEFORE a season starts) they will aell as fast as you can stock them!
So when you have your chairman moaning and groaning about the club loosing money hand over fist and these basic things are ballsed up over and over again it is going to rankle to the supporter that is being told the clubs problems are all your fault!!!
I have ran a few business, some very successful and some not so but what I always want is my customers to tell me when something is wrong or not up to standard, and guess what i do?????? I BLOODY WELL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! NOT ACCUSE MY CUSTOMERS OF MOANING AND GROANING!!!!
Christ if anyone has problems with low blood pressure just have a conversation with this clown and you will be right in no time!!!

Can anyone name a better Manager that we could have got at the time of Hill’s appointment? A team in complete freefall, with a transfer embargo and with an owner known as a sacker and meddles in team affairs?? We are not an attractive option for any Manager worth his salt.
For about the 10 millionth time, Pat, I’m not accusing you or anyone else of “saying” anything
So if you’re not accusing anyone of saying anything why would you say, and I quote “Let’s be clear about why we’re going down. It has nothing to do with pies running out or poor replica shirts” if nobody said it why would you bring it up? You might as well say were not going down because the sky is blue!
If you cannot get through your head that there is not just one single reason for the position we are in but a long, long list of failures, bad Management decisions, treating supporters with complete and utter contempt, poor hospitality, broken promises, the list goes on and on and a p1ss poor matchday experience is a major factor in thousands of fans staying away!

Let’s be clear about why we’re going down. It has nothing to do with pies running out or poor replica shirts
Not one single person has said we any of the above!!What WAS said is that how can a Chairman moan about lack of income and stay away fans when the fans that DO turn up cannot support the clubs finances via hospitality streams as there is sod all to spend it on!! I fail to understand how you fail to understand this!
Running out of food and drink and poor quality replica shirts are just a couple of things in whole sh1t show that has been the Swanns running of OUR club!!!
They were entitled to their opinion but they were not entitled to patronise those of us those chose to listen to what the Gainsborough fans were warning us against, we were told we were idiots and that Swann was this brilliant businessman that we should be grateful to have at our club. The fact that they rarely post anymore speaks absolute volumes.

I blame Mr R A C Symes, for setting up the club in 1899.
We could all have been supporting various other clubs instead!
And probably will be in a couple of years.
We should hold a poll:
Who will you support once the Iron cease to exist?
Grimsby Town
Lincoln City
Doncaster Rovers
Hull City
Barton
Brigg Town
Winterton Rangers
Bottesford Town
Someone else.
No team, I’ve had it with football supporting.None of the above I will support the club that will be formed from the ashes that Swann leaves behind.

Picked up by my Dad’s mate who lived with his Wife off Exeter Road, Jacket Spuds at his & his wifes house in front of Saint & Greavsie, then the short walk up Exeter Road for the game. We stood to the right of the tunnel, and I would jump over the wall to get my programme signed by my hero’s, Steve Johnson, Julian Broddle, Dave Hill, Dave Harle (my favourite player), Billy Russell, Stevie Lister etc… Bovril at half time and the walk home to dissect the game….great memories.

programmes (generous to call them that) turned up in the back of a Ford Granada just before kick off, half the main stand closed due to arson, no hot food or drinks available,
A bit like a home game at GP then? except we have no programme at all and our stand would probably look better after an arson attack!

wouldn’t it be better to get them to the physio room and work on them there
If somebody has suffered a cardiac arrest CPR has to start IMMEDIATLEY there would not be time to get them to the physio room! Who gives a sh!t about a game of football being delayed if it saves somebody’s life?
“Players have been hit by stuff chucked from people in the stands – are we to ban people from stands now?”
Not condoning anything being thrown from the stands, but had no sympathy for the Man Utd players led by Maguire deliberately taunting the Leeds fans after he scored.
They did it again after the last goal, minutes after the scorer was complaining about being hit om the head by a coin.
Oh! now come on Heath, take those Man Utd hating glasses off! Players from all clubs have taunted opposition supporters after scoring and one time or another! Vardy does it regularly at Leicester, Adebyor for Spurs v Arsenal, he ran the length of the pitch to taunt the opposition! Love or hate Man Utd its unfair to call them out when every club is at it.
I agree with Les, relegation is a certainty, we all know that so all that is left is to look for positives for next season. Personally I hope Hill stays and has a crack at the conference, now is the time to be making decisions on who we want to come with us for the fight to get back in the league.
At least Swann did try to build a new ground
Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha!!!!!!!! What a load of sh1te

Not True, SUFC have a good following from Keadby, in fact the junior football team are named Keadby Irons and play in claret & blue, Epworth Town have most of their teams in the Scunthorpe junior league and had teams this season flag bearing at home games.
Another feather in your cap mate. Right on the back of Saddlergate You’re on a roll!
What are you on about??? Are you seriously suggesting that the land wasn’t used by Scunthorpe United before Swann arrived? If you are then I am here to tell you that you’re wrong! That land may not of been in the original plans when the ground was built but it belonged to the club before Swann arrived.

The question was one improvement, the training pitch was one. No more no less. I know it doesn’t fit with alot of posters narratives but you must get over it.
I understand you desperately want to grab onto any straw you can in defence of Swann but you are wrong, that land belonged to SUFC before Swann arrived, all he did was relocate the training ground, not improve it.

The land between the offices and the motorway belonged to the club before Swann came on board. It used to be used for open weekends when the club actually engaged with the fans.

Swanny acquired the land next to the stadium and turned it into the training ground
Did that land not already belong to the club?
Yes it did Ferrite. So what he has actually done is put some goals on it and call it a training ground….fabulous.

Yes all is rosy at Gainsborough Trinity, 17th in the Northern Premier League is some achievement. That’ll really show the Swanns.
UTI, Can you please name ONE THING, JUST ONE, that the fantastic Mr Swann has improved either on or off the pitch during his tenure, come on it really can’t be that hard considering the fantastic businessman he is and how we should be all so grateful to him?
1 user thanked author for this post.
You can all say what you like about Alcy, but he was one of the very few of us that outed Swann from the start, we called from the 1st day the new ground wouldn’t happen and not only has that been proved right, absolutely NOTHING either on the pitch or off the pitch has improved under Swanns tenure. We listened to the Gainsborough fans warnings about this man while others said it was sour grapes, yet here we are staring non league football full in the face in a dilapidated dump of a football stadium.
Give us something positive to say and we will say it!

Just goes to show even when the club do something well some will not acknowledge it, very sad indeed.
What would you say the club do well on a matchday??? I am struggling to name a single thing?
Is it the understaffed and over priced Iron Bar?
The stench of piss and flooded toilets?
The understaffed, overpriced and under stocked catering points?
The lack of a matchday programme?
The farcical organisation of the car parking?
The seats covered in bird droppings?
Why’s it naive? If you want to enjoy the good times you’ve got to endure the bad. Imagine what difference an extra 1000 fans could make to the playing budget? £250k per season at least!
Hi UTI, can you give some examples of initiatives put in place by the club to try to attract new fans (customers) or get old ones to return? Thanks!
No he can’t mate, I have have asked it many time to just name ONE single improvement under Swann and he can’t do it because he knows there are none. How it has the nerve to blame the fans is beyond comprehension!

People use to complain about the marketing pre Swann and they will complain about marketing post Swann.
Twitter has 69k followers, Insta 38k followers and Facbook 82k followers. I think it’s pretty safe to say unless you live under a rock people are aware of SUFC news through these outlets.
People like you ALWAYS find someone/something to moan about. It’s a fact of life.
If you dont use social media you wont see it, nothing to do with living under a rock!!!!
As for always finding stuff to moan about, I will ask you again and see if I get an answer this time……Name ONE thing that has improved under Swann’s tenure, ONE????

I posted ages ago loads of ideas the club could use to engage with the community and entice lost fans back and attract new ones in but all i got was ridiculed by the likes of bucks and Swann Junior (UTI99) because apparently Swann was doing a great job and I should be grateful to have such a great businessman in charge of our club…….strange they hardly post now that we are rooted to the bottom of the football league….coincidence???

That’s fine Barton but is there a stipulation in the rules that these roles have to be filled on an individual basis? Hard to believe these roles have enough money salary wise to sustain as a regular living wage.
The head of academy scouting roles is 15 hours @ £10 per hour!

Burns has done enough so far to earn a start on Saturday IMO.

Maybe not the ‘worst fans in the country’ after all eh?
We are according to Bucks and his mate UTI, remember we should be grateful to Mr Swann, imagine where we would be without him etc, etc…
