‘I demand a statement!!!’
So you’re saying 31 year old players don’t need coaching Rene? You must have a screw loose. How do you think strikers recover from periods of bad performance? Sit around on their X Box all day hoping the spark will return by osmosis? Potty.
‘He’s passed his use by date.’
He hasn’t. You just like the way it looks when you type it.
Who do you think those sort of chants help awaywego? Or do they just make bitter angry people feel good and clever for a few minutes?
Totally agree, it’s absolutely fair to criticise. But IMO, as I’ve said on another thread, it’s then only fair to give credit when it’s due. Unfortunately, it’s not a two way street with some supporters.
‘they didn’t sanction it for the coaching team to work with him, he was supposed to be the finished article.’
That’s ludicrous. You’re claiming the Board don’t expect the coaching team to work with the players? Whatever next?! I’ll agree he was supposed to hit the ground running as they threw him straight in. Unfortunately, life’s not always like that. It hasn’t happened yet but could do if they coach it in to him and find a way of getting the best out of him, on the training ground. I’m not terribly confident they will but it’s got to be a better approach than ‘cutting our losses’. Try and find solutions, don’t create more problems.

A prime example of what I’m talking about. It’s quite likely going to be like this till season end. These cup final type build ups do little to help matters. Supporters become tense demanding free flowing stylish football, hammering everyone in our path. Wired kids and older people, who should know better, chanting ‘Andy Butler, your football is shite’. Pathetic and entitled.

Too much impatience and unfeasibly high expectations for some, borne out of watching plastic Premier League, paying, demanding and getting in today’s modern society. Like Elon Musk’s love children. A world of extremes. Take supporting the Iron. You’re expected to be Butler In or Butler Out, no nuance, no middle ground. I’m all for constructive criticism but give credit where it’s due. Some round here and other platforms are only interested in criticising. Often unfairly to suit a narrative. It’s tedious.

You won’t be happy till Butler’s gone and Butterfield returns. So never, I guess. You must be a ray of sunshine at Christmas time. Hope no one failed to live up to your lofty expectations.
It’s only natural to drop players who are performing badly. Hopefully they can work with him on improving because fans slagging him off constantly isn’t going to help anyone. Apologies for the constructive and positive outlook.
‘Going well? Good to see you’re still easily pleased Deerey. For a lot of us it’s going to take more than a 45 minutes of good football per 20 odd games to be convinced after the utter dross we’ve seen for majority of this season.‘
Some of you naysayers and doom and gloomers don’t half twist the truth. Perhaps you’ve got soap in your eyes from all those paid sessions lad. I said ‘when things
are going well’. Or are you saying there have been no periods this season when things have been going well?Speaks volumes you don’t understand why we’re still near the top. It’s a shite league with players who are incredibly inconsistent in most teams. This is the life.
Well yes. There’s clearly potential goals in there based on some of his previous achievements. People have little patience these days though. Things come too easy and they expect instant gratification. Sad really.
‘despite your 24/7 presence.’
More fantasy. Barely looked in or posted much the last few weeks. As you were.
Wasn’t being hasty, just missed the link as I gleaned through your usual death sermon. 18 months then, not 2 years. Thanks for helping to clarify that. Something useful from you for a change. In that case, the coaching team will be best served trying to get a tune out of him as he’s clearly lacking in confidence. Not helped by the amount of stick he’s getting either. I’m sure he knows he must do better. There’s been more remarkable turn arounds in football.
Oh aye, it’s always nice to see a member back with the usual Uber negativity as soon as a poor performance or result comes round. When things are going well, nothing to say, jack s***, nada. Just took a few days longer than usual. On here anyway. Predictable and tediously boring IMO.
‘Don’t take it personally WG, I’m sure an apology from 64 will be imminent. Perhaps if our supermods spent more time listening to the information that comes directly from the club rather than picking fights and squabbling like teenage girls with other forum members, they might not need to unnecessarily insult those offering accurate and relevant facts.’
Cheer up love. Life’s too short for bitterness and fantasies like a Turnbull ‘parting gift’. As I’ve already stated, I have indeed been checking what comes out from the club and I can’t find anywhere it says Beck is on a 2 year deal. Also said maybe I missed something. Can you clarify this 414? You seem to have everything else sussed out.
‘put up a sign saying we’re claiming squatter’s rights,’
A lot to be said for a bit of laminated A4. Current owners can only dream of such class.
January 12, 2025 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #297039Beck exists ,not sure about CEO and I’m the new hospitality manager
Congratulations.
Was he signed on a two year contract?
:Paid a fee for Beck and he came on a 2y contract’
Is he? Had to check official club platforms because I don’t recall it being stated as 2 years. Can’t find anywhere saying it is. Permanent contract yes. Maybe I missed some detail about it?
How many months have they been in charge since the worst period in our history? 15? You expect too much IMO. Recovery is a steady process, not overnight catering for those with short attention spans.
Dave’s not coming back.

Are you a ex Daily Star journalist?
Counting the minutes till the return of 414 thriving on defeat, cheerleading the ‘Butler Out’ boys. As far as I could tell from the commentary two defensive errors had cost us big time in a game we didn’t look like losing up till then. As Torps said, the players need to take some responsibility and maintain a decent standard. Maybe best to put this one to bed and move on. Credit to Rushall, 3 wins on the bounce now, including Kiddie away, with renewed energy and vigour. They’re clearly not as bad as the table suggests.

‘The team with a minus 25 GD are drawing 1-1 with the team who have a plus 24 GD.’
But they recently beat Kiddie and Farsley. Worth remembering.
‘Grandson just sent a video of the pitch at Rushall and no frost on it whatsoever looks fine indeed.’
Lol, What time is he planning on posting on here? Or will he just wait till the next time you’re roundly mocked?
Make your mind up awaywego. You were singing our praises the other day. Or was that just more Christmas guff on top of the existing Christmas guff?
Anyway, having a slight interest in something is hardly bleeding heart caring about it.
I don’t really care, but I do have a passing interest.
‘Injuries galore expected if it does go ahead?’
Probably less chance of that than at GP on an artificial pitch. The surface must have thawed out, so it shouldn’t be an issue.
