Gifted them their goal but not playing too bad. Creating opportunities. Whitehall’s a big loss and the pitch looks hard to play the ball on.

Bloody hell, I’m in! DAZN finally accepted a weekly pass payment from me. Only took three attempts today and about 10 attempts on other week nights. Better be a good stream!

Rene for ‘best thread title of the year’ award btw. Total BS that festival goers want a muddy field mind. Nothing could be further from the truth

In the recent interview on Iron Hour, Ian Sharp admitted they have made mistakes and will probably make more. I really hope this idea for a 3 day music festival at which they hope to attract a whopping 10k people a day, isn’t one of them. Can’t see that any of the board have experience of organising music events like this and it might explain the pie in the sky target. I hope they give their heads a wobble and think it through properly, and don’t rope in someone who promises the earth but ends up burning them, and ultimately the club

Got a good feeling about this one. I think Ashton will score but we’ll grab a few

I certainly wouldn’t tell them what to do with the money raised, just what I’d suggest

Regardless, do you not think it’s a better use of raised funds than what they’ve been.spending it on and what they’re proposing to spend it on?

Spreadsheets and footballers are two words you don’t see in a sentence very often.

I concur. My initial thought was ‘wow, £18k of shares would have been decent’.

I sincerely think whoever is posting this stuff is not worthy of supporters time and energy. Narcissist whoever it is, trying to sow seeds of doubt and undermining confidence and credibility in the current board. Can’t help thinking they’re amusing themselves giving people the runaround. Conman and his sidekick are proven liars, lest we forget.

I know someone who’s selling the only copy of an etch a sketch design for a new stadium on Warren Road for 18k if they’re interested.

Earl’s Text copy and pasted Cliff:

This is a rough draft of a statement I will put out on behalf of the Unity group! Why is the group being set up now? Since the 23/24 season many of you will be aware of the fundraising I have been doing for Scunthorpe United! Football cards, Auctions, quiz etc! This has raised £17.894.72 ! So for last four months myself and others have formed the Unity group as it became to big for one person! Now we will be a proper elected committee by members of that group! The cost to join and be part of this venture is £10 for as long as the group exists! All money will be used in numerous ways to get funding into the club! Money will be used for sponsorship of players, games etc! Also we will expand on the tickets for families Where we purchase tickets for games from the club and allocate them to less well off families! Also blue light card games for families in our NHS or emergency services or military families! Hopefully helping to increase the club fan base! We will put huge emphasis on promoting our club to local youngsters by putting on parties at Christmas,Easter, Halloween so kids have a positive view of Scunthorpe United! We will work with the club and other supporters groups to achieve our objectives! We have applied for a small gaming licence and will have a bank account! Proper audits on our account every year! We urge all our members not to attack or abuse members of any other supporters groups! Our aims are simple! Help fund the club and try to increase the fan base! Thank you Stuart Maw.

This is a statement shared on behalf of Stuart Maw. A tremendous effort, driven by one individual in around 12 months. Stuart has sensibly decided that it was too much for one person, thus resulting in the forming of the Scunthorpe United Unity Group. Every penny raised by ourselves, will go back to the football club. If one person can raise nearly £18,000 in a year, what could a group of like minded people raise together? #UTI

It was quite funny for a bit. Every single day ground me down though. Tbf Wright wasn’t that bad, Bates was annoying. Kind of liked DLTs snooker game on Saturday’s too.

Interesting. Never heard that Dan track before but can see that it was for a film I never saw either. Most the musicians that were on Aja it says on Wiki. It has that sound and feel for sure.

Sadly this reminds me of working in grim and grimy Scunny workshops in the 80s, with radio 1 compulsorily blaring out the speakers. As if the day wasn’t miserable enough, having to endure the likes of Steve Wright and Simon Bates all day. Torture.

The commentary dropped out a couple of times in the first half and they switched to the GTFC game in the second half.
I listened to the entire 2nd half on the Warrington feed.
They do make it hard work!

Strange, apart from the usual dropping out for a minute or so now and again, I had a constant feed. Fine in the second half

Many teams in this league hit the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order little Ern. Thankfully AB is getting a tune at just the right time. Everything crossed.

Indeed. It’s one thing being rightfully critical, quite another claiming fellow supporters are idiots, fools and ‘living in dreamland’ if they suggested Butler is still learning, and could well come good. That’s before we get on to ‘sacking culture’.

We’re top of the league, so he must be doing something right. The problem is that some are all to eager to put the boot in after a bad result, but when things go well there is only faint praise and a reminder that he makes mistakes from them. It makes it hard to take this kind of criticism seriously, as it isn’t constructive.

Absolutely. I’d also add to this the blatant ridicule some of us that said have faith in Butler received, justified some banter. And if anyone thinks that’s childish, stop being a prig.
