Yeah, realised later. Funny at the time though :)
Why does Ollie keep calling Torps a pervert today?

Carlton!! Love to hear it.

I’m inclined to think it was a joke
Makes a lot of sense I-A
Quality line up for about £50 a day. More DJs at the Attis is the way forward. Less overheads than bands.
Too early for that surely, AWG, after a handful of NLN games.
It’s a league of pub teams full of plumbers and sparkies one day, Championship standard the next.
Looking at those acts I wouldn’t be interested myself but £55 sounds just about alright for a day with that number of acts. Not much there to justify more than £55 mind. Dunno, can’t see a huge demand. Be interesting to hear how it goes and ticket sales

Whilst I don’t disagree with that, I think it’s fair to judge a players performance in comparison to their usual decent levels at this level of the game.
Never happening.
Having looked back, I do think it’s harsh. May have been down the middle but by the time he sees the ball come through a number of players at speed close in front of him he’d need bionic reflexes to stop it. Best chance he would have had is if it hit his leg by accident and deflected. Keeper’s never getting blamed for that one, particularly at this level.

Not his best game though their defending was great. When they weren’t time wasting
Though he has tough narcissist competition with his new sidekick
February 12, 2025 at 12:53 pm in reply to: Butler interview post-Curzon Ashton (and in recent weeks) #298860I like Ollie in general and his style. Not afraid to ask some tough questions and address the elephant in the room. Telling Nelson he was effectively being replaced by Dean was an uncomfortable listen, but I put that down to the fraudster not communicating the plans, rather than Ollie trying to drop bombshells. Sounded like he assumed he would already know. Relying on Ollie and Torps for decent commentary is not too shabby. I don’t think ‘brave’ has been mentioned once.
Their scorer was given way too much time and space to open up the opportunity. I’ll have to look back but seems very harsh to be blaming Fitz in any way.
Clunan does a certain job in a particular style and he’s inherited. Wouldn’t be my preference as his cons outweigh his pros but on his day he can be effective.
As for Mo; keep playing him as he has been. Not rocket science.
February 12, 2025 at 10:43 am in reply to: Butler interview post-Curzon Ashton (and in recent weeks) #298834Maybe. May equally have had a word with himself. It was and is heartening to hear them getting on splendidly so soon after said episode.

Lol.

Why play Mo on the right when he’s a left winger? I can hear the ‘square pegs in round holes’ arguments already.
Call me old fashioned but isn’t a detailed strategic plan to raise income from many sources and activities required as opposed to what IA refers to as Phoenix Nights style ideas? That’s what I’d expect from the CEO, with various working groups to help conceptualise and deliver.
Bad feed that on Firefox but fine on phone app and then on to Chrome.
Boyce made some shockers
Sponsors Man of the Match wasn’t he? Surprise to me that one.

‘absolutely shite’. You’re joking, surely? ‘Got out of jail’? No.
Yeah probably not hugely deserved but should have made more with the possession and endeavour. Frustrating.
Like Torps was saying, no point in really high balls to Beck that he’s struggling to get a head on, particularly if no ones really around him to latch on to flick ons. That’s how looked to me too. Curzon are a pain with that time wasting but don’t blame them. Roberts should have had a free kick edge of the area second half. Just shoved heavily off the ball.
Deserved to win that. Played some good football. Just didn’t quite fall right with Curzon defending well and deep. Good performance nonetheless.
