Spot on. And I wouldn’t sanctimoniously call Bob a ‘blow hard’ either.

I suspect Ferrite was aware of the implication.

‘And we get back to the real job at hand which is getting our club back up the table and beyond.’

The only problem with this is the ‘we’ aspect Josh. There isn’t and hasn’t been a ‘we’ for a number of years and doesn’t look likely to be.

Can you cite any examples of when this sort of arrangement has worked out well for a football club in the lower leagues?

You’d have to be completely naive not to know what’s going on and has been from day one. Most of us on here are long in the tooth supporters and understand it. The time for doing anything about it, if ever an opportunity existed, has long past. If anyone still believes he has any interest in the club as a footballing concern I’d suggest seeing a mental health expert.

Why would anyone knock on his door when they know he doesn’t want to sell? The property development is lucrative enough and screw the football.

☝️ and that’s it as far as I can see. Gradually and stealthily put over a barrel. The interests of supporters and the owner are diametrically opposed and have been since the failed Championship attempts.

I don’t understand your obsession with pulling up your fellow supporters all the time awaywego. Sure, the fans need to take some responsibility but ultimately the hiring and firing is down to the owner. Every football forum criticises players and coaches all the time if things aren’t going well. However, other clubs don’t have such a high turnover of managers.

‘why not just concentrate on your flats an buildings and not bother with a football club’.

That seems to be what’s happened since the failed promotion gamble to the Championship.

I haven’t watched a single match on ifollow this season so I don’t feel qualified to contribute to the state of affairs on the pitch. However, I feel for the many who have and you deserve much better. Disgraceful respect and attitude from the Board. Pitiful.

The biggest news to happen at Scunthorpe United in my lifetime and at time of typing this, there is nothing on the club website!!!

You would think the club would have a statement prepared for such a momentous occasion!

You would also think Max Bell would have plenty to say about it via Codsonline. Maybe he’s still writing it?

I honestly don’t see how the current situation could have been prevented by the fans and sadly I think it’s been designed that way.

‘and in particular the fans all standing together and saying ” NO “.’

Yes. And let’s hope this is the start of more of them doing more for EFL clubs by taking a stand when it’s not just an issue that directly effects them. Ferrite’s point in the OP I believe. Flying pigs, but I live in hope.

As much as I agree with you Ferrite, I can’t see it happening. Can’t see this review changing much just I don’t think Johnson’s legal threat made any difference to the u turn. The big clubs still hold the power and behind the scenes they may well view it as ‘you’re lucky to have us’. I think all this apology is tokemism. Hope I’m wrong.

I’m sure some Newcastle fans will be NI, not all. There’s still a risk here of viewing fans of these clubs as one homogenous mass (what Thatcher and the corporates did), which we know they’re not, and as you’ve already pointed out above. I Agree with many of yours and Ferrite’s sentiments though.

Lol, unashamedly backtracking Alcy but found out. As for ‘conniption’, I hope the use of that word has satisfied your ego and demonstrated your command of a thesaurus. I prefer common parlance tbh. Pity you’re wrong though, I was merely having a discussion with Ferrite about his opening post, you know the topic in question? I’m not, and wasn’t, irate about it. Difference of opinion. It happens.

Two things have made me chuckle today.
Gary Neville, one of the Prems rich list, slavvering about greed in football….remind us again Gary how many prem players voted for a cut in wages to keep lower League clubs afloat?

And probably THE funniest thing, Deerey have conniptions about sweeping generalisations.

” Anyone who voted for Brexit is a racist”

    Hmmmmm

Two things: what’s a ‘conniption’, and who’s the quote from? It certainly isn’t from me and if you’re insinuating it is, it’s a blatant lie.

That aside, are you able to stick to the topic instead of bringing Brexit and meaningless whataboutery in to it? Haven’t you learnt anything?

I think the PFA need the players more than the players need them IA so I’m not sure what sway they have anyway. It will be interesting to see what the players do but I imagine they’ll be as quiet for as long as possible. Their agents will probably tell them to hedge their bets. It’s a good job our club isn’t in the top 6, I think we’d be signed up, despite much disapproval. Would the happy clappers be clapping still?

You have got a point Ferrite, but it’s far from funny for those supporters who’ve been disenfranchised for years by unscrupulous owners. Money talks and many supporters who would’ve been in the Stretford End, The Kop, etc, as kids have been priced out. Many of them will be disgusted with this move. Do they deserve to be laughed at? Not for me.
