What a bizarre exchange
‘where are the Elf protecting scunny interests this year?’
Prawn’s Grotto?
I would consider chipping in yes. Whether I and many others would have the spare cash to do that over the next 12 months remains to be seen. Hopefully they will be fine.
It’s a great story worth celebrating. I hope the model they’ve got isn’t wrecked by the pandemic. Seems like a lifetime ago when I was having a good old drunken chat with some Dons fans who were on their way back to London from Anfield. It was just after they’d sold Dennis Wise to Chelsea. Nice chaps.
Not sure you can class cycling to Sheffield Park every day for 2 weeks as a holiday.
Lol, give your head a wobble man!
I think awaywego’s just trying to look cool in front of the youth.
He could do with a rocket up his proverbial
The depth of your analysis never ceases to amaze me awaywego.
With all these untested players running around, possibly with Covid, I can’t see the smaller stadiums being able to open with restricted numbers any time soon.
More than three teams refused to play yesterday I cant imagine a huge fine or been booted out the league, can you.
You don’t know what the outcome of refusing to play will be yet. The EFL are investigating. If we refused to play having enough players tested negative Swann wouldn’t want to risk punishment. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t ‘got balls’, it means he’s pragmatic.
‘A chairman should have had the balls to say were not carrying on the season till fans are allowed in’
And risk getting a huge fine or booted out the league?
So they can sleep better probably.
It wouldn’t be worth them opening a cinema for our games. Not enough interest
There’s a third way: Chris Hope.
I would also say back then we knew the club was skint, so all the endeavors of club officials and players were more appreciated by the die hards when we numbered all but 1,200, on a bad day. This, in spite of much mocking by the stayaways in the playground and work, at a time the club needed support more than ever. What do we have now? A club that’s been over invested in and pumped with cash in return for someones unrealised dream, huge debt, a lot of bad feeling and disenchantment. At one point or other, most who come in leave under a cloud of some kind.
‘exactly, in the 70s and 80s expectations were low but we supported the club and usually put out the same 11 every week in their proper positions and we used to try to win games by attacking teams and some we won and some we didn’t with possibly worse players than we have now, no 5 at the back and negative formations, even if we lost usually the opposing keeper earned his money, now we hardly have a shot at goal and it’s boring to watch with players playing out of position etc.’
That, for me, encapsulates it in one paragraph and speaks volumes. Well put Mick
I still really don’t know what you think that will achieve apart from needlessly distracting them from doing their jobs? I’m not particularly interested what they would have to say anyway, I’d rather see results of their work on the pitch, but much better. Given that I don’t actually think our current plight is just down to them it seems even more pointless.
I’m glad you cleared that up awaywego
Just to clarify BRI, I’m not suggesting you were saying that as I’m aware you said ‘if’. I just don’t think it’s even worth considering.
BRI makes some good points but I don’t think for one minute that what people say on here or social media informs the owners decision making. Personally, I think we can kick that one in to the long grass.
Has anyone thought of going having a word with Cox and Lillis, they train most days you know, I am sure they will engage with you, Hurst would always go out his way to have a word when we used to go down, so long as you don’t go in all guns blazing.
What do you think that would achieve?
I don’t think Mr Swann makes any decisions based on what people say on here or social media awaywego
Brown is an excellent signing but it’s the usual strategy of doing things as cheap as possible until a crack the the size of the Grand Canyon appears. It’s only a small step in the right direction following a stampede in the wrong one.
You all know who it is really!
The fact we’re in league 2 isn’t the point at all. It’s about the club itself, the way it’s run and future prospects. This really isn’t about a few young fans who only know the Championship years.
I bet you’d find most of the posters on here remember the old days at the OSG attended by 1,500 fans very well forever iron so that argument isn’t valid.
The club already has a DoF.
Both clubs have owners who think they know better. But they don’t.
Paul Scholes?! 😂😂😂😂😂
