‘putting the cones out for Jimmy last year.’
You really hate him that much don’t you.

1 (one) point in the league and a Mickey Mouse Trophy defeat from a part time team a league below.
A defeat on the cards on Saturday.
Where do we go from here?
Games not even been played yet FFS.

That’s just a given
Could have saved you the anguish. Answer is ‘yes’.

I’ve never played football manager, but I’ve played Monopoly and chess a lot and never flipped the board over when things aren’t going my way.
You misunderstood then. It’s less about being ‘content’ with the current formation Butler chooses; more an observation how a number of posters on Bru nearly always know better, despite any, as far as I’m aware, experience of playing or coaching at professional level. Not like I didn’t didn’t question the number of defenders being picked in the starting eleven before it became the main reason things were going pear shaped, for many. It’s this absolute certainty I see being bandied about, leading to extreme solutions like sacking the manager again that I’m pointing out.

Jumpers for goalposts I heard. No wonder we won. None of that goal post malarkey like this highfalutin modern football.
Class cover that
Whoever ends up in charge in the future won’t last long before the world class tacticians on here start wagging their fingers and suggesting a ‘better’ way to coach

Not that long ago we were discussing tactics employed in the League 1 playoff semi.
For ‘discussing tactics’ read ‘moaning about Alexander, Swann and contracts’
Getting deja vu. Sure you’ve mentioned that already?
Must be the way you tell em

Maybe Russ has learned from his mistakes? Absolutely nothing wrong with a manager changing his tactics to improve results.
I knew a post like this (not necessarily from you) was incoming.
I’d rather not be reminded thanks

In the interview Michelle stated they were still on talking terms. It didn’t give me the impression of an imminent tribunal.
Yes, she said he’d phoned her a few times last week to see how she was doing.
But where would we be without AWG’s wonderous stories? In a pretty fragile place. All good people know that. If some posts weren’t so close to the edge, there’d be no issue.
Well, we’ll perhaps see if this carries on munch longer. If a new manager did come in with a different formation and we saw a massive turnaround in performances I’ll happily hold my hands up and say I got it wrong. Whatever happened to ‘players should be good enough to adapt to formations’? We used to hear it a lot, now it’s mysteriously disappeared from narratives.
Only things I’ll counter that with is people are more extreme in the heat of the moment straight after a game, and you can pay more than peanuts and still not get ‘the man’, as our managerial history since Swann took over reflects

Kind of the point I’ve been making about questioning if the players are good enough? Most the squad is the same lot from last season who couldn’t get promoted under non league Pep’s genius tactics.
There are one or two posters on X who are tediously relentless with the ‘Butler Out’ mantra. Almost like they have a vendetta. Particularly when they go out of their way to text in BBC Humberside post match and repeat the same mantra. At what point do these actions stray from mere opinion in to obsessive demands, putting unnecessary pressure on a Board that has just signed two new additions to help change on pitch performances? Unity? What feckin unity?
Should have been removed for quality reasons alone.
Ollie was good on the commentary too. A good foil to Torps’s general charitable analysis. Think he expresses supporters concerns well
Roger Dean, not Jimmy Dean?
Nice reference
Oh, I definitely agree with 3 CB over egging. Unnecessary and takes a much needed place in midfield. Just think there’s more to it than formations and Butler.
You’re starting to sound like Alcazar. Don’t know who deleted your effigy post, if that’s what you’re on about, but you can hardly be surprised. Nothing ‘woke’ about that decision.
If by that you mean certain players don’t want to be here DM then I would say just clear off then, they signed a contract, they knew who was the manager, they are meant to be professional, so just act like professionals then.
That’s not what I meant. I meant many just aren’t good enough. Perhaps Butler got the best out of them he could earlier in the season. A formation change may improve performances but it probably won’t cut out the defensive errors that have crept in, nor the poor passing.
