Spence is very unlucky. I get rotation with the games coming so quickly but he hasn’t played alot recently so that’s no excuse.
Rotations fine but excellent performances have to be rewarded.

Who wants to stay?
That one will be the key and I worry the answer will be not many.
Even if we are offering to over pay which we won’t (and shouldn’t)
Gillead walks into a league one squad with ease.
McGaheys injury history may hurt him but I would imagine he will think he can do better.
Eisa is going
Karacan I would expect to do better than league 2 with what we’ve seen. Certainly a higher end league 2 club will be interested and probably several with more appealing locations.
We’re not totally screwed Rowe, Taft, Onarise, O’Malley, Beestin, Spence and Loft is a good start.
But we need to have learned from this seasons awful close season attempt that trying to go too cheap leaves you with too many of those shit players who aren’t going to make an impact and lead to you still having to sign more to cover the mistakes.
If we keep Howard great if not sign a keeper and learn from what you tried to do last year.
And desperately try to ship some dead wood.
Definitely agree with that. Free kicks in scoring range only and get in the box when we have a corner.
Next season worries me more to be fair.
We’ve done ok this season in the end but we are likely going to lose Gillead, Eisa, McGahey, & Karacan. Also possibly Kev.
What are the chances of us signing players anywhere near as good as that?

He wanted the penalty but it didn’t turn into a big argument to be fair. He seemed to take it alright guess he just wanted a goal to try and get some confidence back.
I think he looks unfit rather than uninterested at the minute but time will tell.Good result and well deserved. Finally a pen for us. Only seen it the once so far but looked fair enough. Thought he was holding Eisa and it probably wasn’t enough to get the reaction it got from Eisa but we were due a penalty. Certainly more of a pen than some we’ve had against us. Didn’t think the ref was great quite picky and throwing cards around a bit. Hippolytes was a terrible decision.
Spence was superb, never stopped and got in the way of almost everything they tried to do.
We miss Lofts energy up front especially away when we are not being massively adventurous.
Thought Hallam did well and Clarke was decent again at CB hopefully McGahey is ok and Onarise will be fit for tuesday.
Yeah I guess it was a couple of guys Salford employ specifically for iPlayer. That’s why it started literally 2 mins before kick off and there was no talk of anything else it didn’t sound like radio. It wasn’t great.
What was played on humberside does anyone know? Did we have commentary from home?
Is anyone getting commentary today? I’ve switched to home in the settings and there is still nothing?
Never mind he’s just turned up 30 seconds after I posted that!
Yeah that’s how I read it. Not a terrible side.
Pleasure Island adorned the greatest kit in our history. Possibly in the history of football.
Can you post up the otions for those of us who didn’t see them last time round?
Think Clarke might need a permanent move to CB his distribution has been poor and his inclination to burst forward is all but gone. Thought he did better at CB last night than he’s done at RB.
He’s not going to get games at CB here though unless the injury disaster carries on.Apart from one misjudged header that gave away an unnecessary corner I thought Beadeau had one of his better games last night. His best for some time.

BEEDTIN—-5—-Not involved in much tonight, abcent for long spells.
GREEN—4—Did very little, never got involved, why select him???One goal (Beestin), one assist (Green), three points.
Probably why they were selected.
Were you watching Northumbiron? It was Kev who scored. Nearly 20 mins after he got subbed off.
We were away from home against top of the league. The team that have scored the 3rd most goals this season and we kept a clean sheet. That doesn’t happen if 2 of your defenders are poor and the other 2 are average. Your numbers are nonsense.

Great result against what is (usually) a very good team. Defended well and thought we showed a bit of intent first half without doing too well. Got one good chance and actually took it for a change. Winning away at top of the league who hammered us 5-0 at home should be massive for the lads confidence.
Unlike the usual hanging on in games I was never overly concerned they would score.
Excellent from Howard and a soild shift from everyone. Those scores are nonsense BS perhaps it’s best you gave the ratings thread up if that’s what you’ve got to offer.
Also critcising the defensive team selection while at the same time suggesting a left back should’ve started in place of one of the forwards? Interesting.
I have looked all over my iPhone app and can’t find those options.
It’s a little cog on the bottom right on desktop. No idea if it’s the same on the iOS app though sorry.
It defaults to away commentary which gives the option of “stadium noise” change it to home commentary on the settings and you’ll get the Cambridge commentary which is decent as far as the away efforts have been so far.

I’d forgot Howe was even here. A third right back always looked a strange signing when there were more pressing needs. And now he’s not even making the squad.
I had the same feeling Les it looked like it had probably just gone out but it was quick and the Lino was right on it. There number 11 did very well to even get there he could really shift.
Also agree that if we had taken our chances they probably would’ve just turned it on and scored more. They were very happy to sit on a 2 goal lead and counter a bit.
Think we only seemed to attack more in the 2nd half because they let us.
We finished with more possession but it was about 80-20 in their favour when they wanted the ball.
Would’ve been thoroughly undeserved but if we’d taken our chances we would’ve won that.
Didn’t think we were very good but we were beaten by a solid and well organised side.
If it is accepted that reffing has hit new lows, then all clubs are affected, not just the Iron. Whether the Iron is more affected negatively than other clubs is debatable.
Fully agree with this. I only watch us play now but these same refs are going out every week and presumably performing at the same levels.
Only got Cox’s stats to go on that we’ve been unlucky to be on the wrong end of decisions more in our own games but I’m sure there are many teams just as bad as us.
It feels like I come out of a game much more regularly now thinking that the ref was poor. People like Deadman used to be an anomaly but now it seems constant.
However maybe it’s as Ferrite said and the laws are being correctly applied and it’s the rules of the game changing and not the officials which are the problem.
Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t think the current strict liability interpretation of the laws is good for the game BUT the players should know what’s what & deal with it. Everyone else has to.
Well I don’t keep up with the laws if that is the rule then maybe that’s the problem not the refs. If the ref has correctly applied the laws of the game in the Taft situation that is baffling and needs to be looked at.
How can anyone in charge of the game watch that and believe it is the correct outcome?
My opinion is the complete opposite. I thought Bedeau was the one caught out. He made a stupid move and even though his foot wasn’t anywhere near as high as the ref indicated when he started waving his arms about and I don’t think there was contact he gave the ref the chance to make the wrong decision.
Watching the Taft one again I’m at a loss as to what he could have done? he made no move towards the player, didn’t stick out his leg and wasn’t the one who instigated contact. The player deliberatly made contact with Taft and not the ball which should be our free kick no? But he flung himself to the ground and the ref ate it up.
Can you offer any concrete examples of a decline in refereeing standards? I can’t recall any particularly outrageous decisions for/against us this season.
What was your opinion on the Taft penalty the game before out of interest Ferrite?
From my point of view he was running in a straight line back towards his own goal line and the Harrogate player ran across him, deliberately made contact with him and fell over. Other than stop completely and allow him to take the ball not sure what Taft could have done.
That was a much worse decision for me and I would definitely call that one outrageous personally. They’re advertising pasties now!
I don’t remember the last time we had a pen even?
We seem to get plenty of dubious refs.
It’s not the BBC it’s a commercial station it seems. Strange it’s not something I’ve seen before but never listen to away commentary. I always assumed it was all done by local BBC stations. They were playing adverts beforehand.
Agree the quality is awful but that goes for all commercial radio.
Also matches our first half performance well. Think it was a harsh penalty foot was nowhere near as high as the ref was indicating and not sure there was a lot of contact but we deserve to be behind.

Onarise was superb again. Hopefully not injured and just off as a precaution.

One of the most embarrassing performances I’ve seen from a team trying to cheat to win free kicks and penalties. Harrogate should be ashamed of that today. Pathetic. Glad the ref seemed to catch on to it 2nd half.

What an awful penalty decision
