Was gutted to lose him the first time and delighted to resign him.
This time knew it was coming but my heart still says it’s a shame even though the head says it’s the right decision.
Far to good for league 2 on his day but unfortunately this season I don’t think he even had one good day. Injuries really seem to have taken a toll. Hopefully he can get fit and still get a good job.

Can you put a price on effort and application?
Judging by this season if you can it’s one we’ve been unwilling to pay.

If we hadn’t signed Howard we would have been relegated.
I would bet my life on that.
Howard was average at best and I hope we can do better.
But average was a massive improvement.

Has to be properly replaced or next season is over before it starts.

Could indicate if I am making a financial saving for the season.
Bottesford Town could benefit.
That’s gonna be a big thing for a lot of people I reckon.
£10 a go home and away plus cup games Ive spent over £500 this season.
Going to take some persuading for me to do that again since I’ve had very little, if any enjoyment/excitement out of it.
I can think of many better ways to spend my time and money.
I imagine we’ll get a big list printed out of all out of contract national league and national league north/south players, stick it up on the wall and then chuck some darts at it.
“I’ve hit 6 strikers again”
“Ah well never mind sign them up”

In his statement Swann says security of tenure for 100 years!
Presumably though if he sells the club that won’t be guaranteed if he can’t come to an agreement on rent with the new owners?
8 goals to make up is nothing if they win 2 and we lose 2.
And I would bet that we will lose 2 without scoring.

Maybe when he says raring to go he means go away from here? As in they can’t wait to be done and get out?
So they’ve let themselves and everybody else down for weeks but now they can be bothered again and are raring to go?

The players and the manager will be at the ground training on Thursday Friday come out between 10,30 and 11 if anyone wants to have words with Cox Lillis and the players.
Half an hours training 2 days a week? That explains it!

“there are some disappointed people in that dressing room”
No there aren’t. Please stop with this rubbish. They aren’t even bothering to pretend they give a shit anymore.

I haven’t bothered with the last 2 before today. Made the mistake of having another go. Lasted 56 minutes. Won’t bother again this season. Unless we give Jessop/Dawson/Barks a start then I might take a look.
I’m not backing him. He’s doing a terrible job. My point was more that regardless of who is hired they will do a terrible job because of who they are working for.

Cox isn’t the problem he’s just a symptom.
Doesn’t matter who is in charge the end result will be the same.

We haven’t looked like getting anymore points for weeks.
We are pathetic, toothless, aimless, leaderless and without hope.
We deserve to go down and if Grimsby show some fight and win their last 3 then we will get exactly what we deserve.

Joey Dawson not even making the squad today, unless he’s picked up a knock of course, very disappointing. 😞
He did. Mike White said he was going to start but got injured on Thursday.
I can’t even begin to understand how anyone who has watched the games this season can’t see Howard as a massive improvement. He’s far from perfect but he steadied a rapidly sinking ship and the stats absolutely back that up.
If we hadn’t signed him and Watson had remained number one through the season we would be rock bottom and well adrift.
I’m 50/50 on keeping Howard I’d like to think we could improve further but we are up against it already next season and going back to Watson as number 1 makes our bad situation even worse. Nailed on certainties for relegation.

At the very least I’d like to see all 12 of them banned from European competition next season. But they won’t be.
We’ll get “unity” and “moving forward together”

Cox needs to stop playing
Van Veenas thelone striker, it never has worked.Fixed that for you.
O’MALLEY—5—No defender should score more than 5, because they cannot defend.
TAFT—6—Played ok.
Brilliant work!

It wasn’t gutless – it was aimless.
That’s an improvement no??
It’s usually bothI reckon we’ll know who the naughty boy is by 12.30pm Saturday
Not according to Cox,today he told Mike White the player will feature on saturday!
Pathetic. This is why Cox is so frustrating. Talk a good game but then when it’s time to take action roll over.
This player hasn’t done his job, has lied about it and it’s not the first time. No wonder he can’t get anything out of the players i doubt any of them respect him.
Absolutely the way forward. A couple at a time is ideal. Manny is t fit so if we aren’t keeping Bedeau then pair Barks with Taft. If Loft is fit then play him in a 2 with Jessop and see what we’ve got. Pugh or Hornshaw off the bench.

There’s going to be a large turnover and we are going to lose some of the little bits of quality we have got but with the RIGHT additions we could do ok.
Onarise and Taft is a great pairing if they can stay fit. Barks and one other as backup.
Beestin and Spence are both good enough paired with an old head who can put a tackle in. One or two from the kids kept on.
Green has potential and I don’t think Hippolyte is a complete write off with one good signing and possibly a young loanee out wide is ok.
Up front is a worry. Loft has shown he’s good enough with a partner when we play to his strengths and put the ball near him on occasions. Keep Jessop or Mooney as a cheap 4th means 2 quality additions needed. Hope we can bin at least 1 of Jarvis and Turan off on someone else.
Watson is under contract which is my main concern. If we open the season again with “Rory is our number one he’s good enough” then we will go nowhere. Keep Collins as 3rd and sign a proper keeper or it’s the same again and we’ll scramble for a “good enough” veteran again 10-12 weeks into the season.
If we get that then there is a chance. But if all that is in by the end of May at that point I would expect Cox to hit the ground running. Give us some entertainment and not be feeding us excuses.
Yeah harsh on Green I think he’s shown enough to keep around. His pace alone makes him worth working on.
And Les we’ve needed a Bish type since he left. It was blindingly obvious that was what we were lacking. If he’d been properly replaced we wouldn’t have got relegated in the first place and who knows where we’d be now.
1 user thanked author for this post.
He shouldn’t be. Unfortunately I think he lacks the ability to do anything about it.
We’ll be “letting” everyone go I would think Les. I can’t see us offering a contract to anyone we’ve a chance of keeping except probably some of the kids who will be cheap bodies.
