Good watch on that Donny season if you’ve got a spare hour.
Wonder if Swann though about documenting our season so he could apportion the blame to those who deserve it.

We move the ball around quite well (and surprisingly quickly kast night) until we get to the 18 yard line. Then we panic.
Very few of our team are willing to shoot from distance either – or maybe they aren’t good enough.
Goes for our own box as well unfortunately.
If we could defend and score we might actually be quite good.
Maybe you should get one of those medical alert bracelets that says “if I collapse please just let me die I wouldn’t want to inconvenience anyone”

I don’t think Watson can use the defence that it was too close to him.
If your arm is in a “natural position” and you get hit from half a yard away then yeah fair enough.
But a keeper charging out of the area and spreading like that doesn’t matter if you are hit from an inch away. If it hits your arm you are done.
I think it was his speed that helped him and the fact that the ref can’t have been sure. Plus I don’t remember now but I don’t recall the Walsall players really making a fuss about it?1 user thanked author for this post.
Walsall were a very poor team but so were Oldham and we didn’t beat them.
Maybe we have turned a corner who knows? I’d love it to be true but I’m not going to get my hopes up just yet.
Yeah agreed about Gallimore thought he did well. Gave it away in a bad position once but other than that I thought he looked comfortable.
Grant is what we’ve been missing if we signed him 3-4 years ago when Bish left things might have been very different.
Darryn it was straight in front of us and what could Pugh do, both players were committed but it was their player who lunged in feet first so was baffled from Hill’s comments, he saw it from ground level but he may have a different opinion when he saw it on screen afterwards.
but then again nobody gets sent off against us.
Yeah that was my view on TV Mick. Their guy flew in under Pugh and Pugh landed on him since he couldn’t do anything else.
But Keith seems to think he did do something so who knows?
Yeah interesting to see what Hill said after. That Pugh did foul the player and had to be more careful when on a booking. Not what I saw but it was right in front of the dugout so have to assume he had a better view. I still think the fact that the Walsall player got away with it was wrong. And Labadie definitely should have gone.
50/50 on Watson. Hard to tell whether it was the top of his right arm or his chest. But I’d say it’s safe to assume it was his arm and the ref got it wrong based on the rest of his evening.
I’m struggling to think of a worse refereeing decision that I’ve seen.
Blatant red for White not a clue what the ref thinks Pugh did.
Their captain should’ve got a 2nd yellow a minute after his first as well for the professional foul on Grant.
Having said that Watson could’ve been lucky it was hard to tell where the ball hit him but it didn’t look good.

I use browsec, watch every match that way and have never had a problem.
But the rule is generally non saturday 3pm games are always available in the uk.
Ferrite it won’t let you buy and then not watch. If the matches are ineligible for watching in the uk it will only give you the option to buy an audio pass. If the video pass is available it will work.

Yeah he can sign free agents if we get within the rules set out by the embargo which we can do by loaning out or releasing players.
What I was was saying that simply deregistering them from the squad while keeping them under contract won’t be sufficient.
De registering players won’t help us now I wouldn’t have thought.
Butroid was done due to max squad size that league rules allow.
But we are under different restrictions now due to the embargo so can’t imagine that we can do that.
We will have to release or loan/sell to someone who’s window is still open.
Going to be more difficult to pay people up now I would presume.
If they are free agents when the transfer window closes then they can sign with clubs but if they are under contract when the window closes that is it until the window opens again.
So anyone agreeing to leave would be unable to sign for anyone now until next season.
Maybe KDT if he can get something lined up abroad where the windows are different?
Must mean they are certain someone else is on the way out surely?
If we could only get 2 than the 2nd after Nuttal had to be a CB

And still got Perry as much use as he is.
Not ideal that Hippolyte and Wood are the 2 but since there is no movement or willingness to pay people up we can only get rid of those who people want.
Midfield isn’t left as short as we are up front and at CB.
Without at least one of each we’ve got less than 0 chance.

Paid up. Get the same done to Turan at least. Nobody’s gonna want him.

Used to really rate Grant when he was at Southend. If he’s still half that good he’s better than we’ve got.
If we’re sticking with the diamond him at the base Feeney and Hippo/Beestin when fit and Sinclair at the point and we’ve got a midfield. If we get a competent CB and Nuttal can score then I might almost start to hope.
But it all still feels too late.
Didn’t they bring in some “double punishment” bollocks where if it’s a penalty it’s not a red card as the penalty is “sufficiant” punishment. Outside the area it would be a free kick and a red card.
Doesn’t help much when you miss the pen though.
SWANN SAID WE WONT GO OUT THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
Oh thank god I was starting to worry!

The improvement in just a few weeks is significant and we are drawing games we would have lost but we need wins and it’s hard to see where they will come from without a goal scorer.
The massive improvement to still not good enough shows just how dire it was. And although the improvement is quick it was allowed to be so shit for so long that it’s still not happening quickly enough.
5 users thanked author for this post.
Shit. Again.
And points aren’t enough but it was a point from behind which have been very hard to come by.
Sign of a bit of toughening up? Maybe?
But if we’d lost that by 5 it wouldn’t have been an unfair result.
Far to much dead wood.

Add George Miller to the list 7 goals in 10 games for Walsall, Some disliked him so much they didn’t want to credit him with the goal he did score.
I was one of those. He didn’t touch it and is the worst striker we’ve ever had.
I didn’t know he was at Walsall and I can’t believe he’s scored 7 in 10. Im going to have to watch them but at the minute I’m assuming they all just hit him and went in.
He’s not one who I ever thought had a chance of making it. He looked like he didn’t know what a football was.
Don’t remember seeing much of Godden, Wootton was misused but never looked great. I’d take him back now though. Goode was shit.
Lyle Taylor is the biggest one for me recently. Could see a good player in there from miles away.
He’s already on the radio in advance talking about how we’ve got to match and nullify their 3 in midfield otherwise they will hurt us.
Why don’t we worry about hurting them??

Thompson straight back in wtf he was absolutely she ite at Harrogate.
Speculating O’Malley has broken his leg on Humberside.

Perfect for the old diamond though, I’m just a believer in picking your best players in their best positions and using a system that fits that. Better than picking your system and making the players fit that IMO.
I’d argue that’s what Cox has been doing and has been a big part of our problem.
Onarise, Taft and Davis are all in our best 11 so we’ve been playing 5 at the back to get them all in and it doesn’t work. None of them look comfortable in a 3 and none of the full backs look happy at wing back.
Gutted.
But not embarrassed by the performance for once.
Good and bad to come out of that.
No more excuses now Neil. We all knew what worked now you’ve seen it for yourself if you go back to 5 at the back 1 up front bollocks then I’m afraid you’ve got to go.
442 and have a go and we scored from open play. Who’d have thought.
On the good side all of the defenders look so much more comfortable playing in a 4 and Millen looked a different player with a game and some more fitness.
Jarvis looks capable of leading the line and being reasonably effective when given a partner.
O’Malley offers so much with his delivery and I’ve seen nothing from Bunn or Green this season so I’d be playing him and Thompson on the left in a 442. And that allows you your 5th defender to make Cox feel more comfortable.
On the negative side we are still lacking a leader in CM to help us see a game out. Awful decision making from Beestin for the first goal and poor defending from Hippolyte for the 2nd.
We still lack depth and looked much more fragile when O’Neill and Rose came on but that was possibly down to Carlisle stepping up after pulling one back. O’Neill looks very weak though and wasn’t helping relieve pressure like Jarvis.
You’d have taken a point before hand but to lose 2 like that is poor. We need to manage games much better.
The Perry decision was insane.
I feel like after that Cox needs to come out and explain what his plan was? I thought he was out of his depth now I’m starting to think he might just be a moron.
If you are going to make a huge deal about countering one player at least come up with a plan that had a chance of working. Play a flat back 4 and set Rowe on Jay. He’s bigger, stronger and as fast. Tell him to never be more than half a yard away from Jay for the 90 minutes. Get in his face and frustrate him. Then let the rest of them give Exeter something to worry about. Like maybe a shot or 2 on target?
Gurnam Singh was an awful ref.
I think the one where he sent Byrne and someone else off was the second time we had him and I went into it expecting him to be shit after the first. I don’t remember who against or the year but wasn’t too long after the first if I remember right.
The first was Brighton in 2006. He sent Steve Foster off (deservedly) but then their little ginger right back ran about 40 yards and punched Foster and got away with it.
Our group stopped marking refs two years ago.
Out of interest I took a look back at Mr K’s marks.
Incredible – highs and lows but not that much in the middle. What’s the lowest score you’ve ever given Les?
And was it Darren Deadman?
