1-4-4-2 please. Nige says we mustn’t forget the goalkeeper.

Loft had a bad day but consistency can be one of the things missing from league 2 players. He’s had 2 good games and one bad scored 2 in 3.

I don’t agree about Spence I like him a lot. Not flashy, simple balls but just in the right place at the right time.

Big step backwards today from the last couple of games.

Loft looked a different player and couldn’t control the ball to save his life. Not sure what Turan offers that’s different to Loft they don’t look like a pair that will fit.

Better from Bedeau and O’Malley looks decent.

Gillead a better day but still out of position first half.

Hopefully we’ve learned that 4-4-2 is the way.

Not good though I could’ve rounded up 10 mates and beaten that Crawley team. Failing to win against teams as piss poor as that is very concerning.

I’m generally watching the ball anyway when I’m at the game like the camera does I don’t spend a lot of time watching players off the ball I don’t think?

Not sure about Hornshaw for next week, last minute he looked like his calf or hamstring went and as soon as full time whistle went he sat down and was shaking his head. Hopefully Rowe will be fit.

Gillead doesn’t work in Cm and it’s not needed. Vincent not as good as last week today but definitely good enough and Spence I like. He doesn’t look like he’s doing a lot but he gets in good positions. Bit of time and he could be the break up man we’ve missed since Bish left. Doesn’t look to do much but stops the opposition from playing.
Although I would still like us to add an experienced Cm.

442 with Gillead, Eisa, Hippolyte and Colclough to chose from as wingers. Who else in league 2 has options like that?

It was a boring game that neither team really deserved to win.

I don’t like the formation and Cox will loose people’s faith quickly if he won’t stop playing players out of position were they are clearly ineffective.

Eisa and Gillead both being absolutely wasted through the centre.

Hippolyte and Hornshaw are not wingbacks although Hippolyte did defend well today.

    3 CB’s is shit.

Get Loft a proper partner we had 3 strikers on the bench.

What I’ve seen of the signings we could have the basis of a really promising team if they are used properly.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Barwick. Definitely not a Cod Fan.

I would say easily the worst midfielder we’ve had in my lifetime.

I know, which is why I’ve always favoured a picture of him…he’s the midfield equivalent of Tomi Ameobi.

Jesus even I think that’s a bit harsh. Berwick could kick the ball and stay on his feet at least.

You are right, to be fair to Wigan this largely isn’t their fault and they have been screwed by an owner who should never have passed the FA’s test.

I do wonder though if someone like us or Mansfield or the like were in the same position if we’d be treated the same way.

It’s alright though they are a big club remember.

The rules don’t apply like they do to Bury and the like.

Big shout. Can you not remember Mark Gavin? Or Jimmy Walker? Barwick wasn’t great but there’s some stiff competition for worst midfielder.

I was going to say Mark Gavin was before my time but I checked and he wasn’t. But it was my first proper season when I was only 10 or so and I have no memory of him at all.

Do you mean Justin Walker? I remember him he was awful. Thought he was David Beckham and used to come off spotless even though we played in white at the time.
I googled Jimmy Walker the only one that comes up is a keeper?

That’s how it always used to work Mick. I watched all the away games last year and always defaulted to Humberside commentary yesterday was the first time I’ve ever had to change it manually.

Think Jarvis did alright but he will suffer from comparisons to Loft who looked miles ahead based on the first 2 games.

The second half was piss poor, first was alright but we were only Really counter attacking and we gave away a lot of position. We finished as a threat when Green went off he looks promising. Very quick.
O’Malley over Butroid on Saturday for me as well thought he looked a much more competent defender.

Not ideal no but it’s about getting minutes in to people who need them.

He promised 2 up front and hasn’t done that yet but we’ll see what Saturday brings. That’s when I’ll start to judge.

Only Beestin who hasn’t been involved without explaination I beleive unless it is one of the kids like Barks or Collins so it seems it probably is him.

Would likely have played instead of Spence tonight if available I would say.

It amazes me this competition didn’t get cancelled this year to help fixture congestion a bit.

No season long video pass in the uk as when crowds are allowed back saturday 3pm games won’t be available anymore.

Don’t know how that would work though Mick as what would stop a home fan going to the away teams website and purchasing it through there.

Hopefully until grounds are allowed to be used unrestricted we will continue to be allowed to watch. Which should mean for the entire season.

I would presume it goes through which clubs website you buy the pass from no? That would seem the simplest way to tell which club you were a supporter of?

I hope if Butroid doesn’t improve O’Malley is given a chance.
It’s be just like us to stick Vincent at LB when he looks a really solid midfielder.

Apologies to Cordner forgot to mention him in my first post also looks a potentially really good player.

Loft looked good but needs a partner.

    Vincent looked good.

    Colclough looked interested.

    Butroid poor on both goals.

Hornshaw looked decent at RB but not a natural hope we’re not trying to force a position into someone again. Was beaten n the air for the first goal but was blatantly climbed on. Rodney did that every time there was an aerial challenge and got away with it.

Watson 3 saves and needed 2 goes at all 3 of them but didn’t push them directly to the opposition this time. Rushed out well a couple of times but the winner was a cross that bounced in the 6 yard box. Butroid lost his man but keeper should deal with that.

Just said on Humberside McAtee is isolating because he’s been in close contact with whoever failed the test.
So probably whoever McAtee lives with.

Cox said he told the lads the team on Thursday hopefully whoever has failed the test wasn’t in there and the plans haven’t been thrown into chaos.

Not a league game so no big deal at the end of the day but it’d be nice to get off to a winning start.

Hopefully McGahey and Clarke are fit for the league kick off next week.

The trouble is when people have opinions about things they don’t understand and then consider those opinions equally valid to someone else’s facts.

If he was a 6’2 central midfielder that would be something I could definitely get behind.
