I wasn’t really commenting on your exchange with Cass, Deerey. (Maybe I should have just quoted the last sentence) It seems to have touched a nerve with you re t’other side but I didn’t have to be Nostradamus to see where ‘non footie’ was going. I also wasn’t pointing a finger at you. As a general forum it wasn’t just Israel or US elections that drew such hostility and immaturity from some. Climate change, Corbyn, Brexit, Faith issues are others that Spring to mind. In other words .. topical issues well worth examining. My constant appeals for a bit more tolerance fell on deaf ears and one by one ‘dissenters’ shrugged and disappeared. I suspect that this was the goal of some posters. So it has all but died … unless you want to post your current favourite song. I still hold the view that it’s possible to hold strongly differing perspectives and discuss with respect and honesty. Toxicity is not inevitable.

Yep. That was my point. Novice Manager ie still learning. Early doors. Not arguing with some of the gripes above. I left on Saturday feeling as if it was a loss when I was sure, when Roberts hit that free kick, that we’d go on to get a couple more. But I don’t think winning this League is a given … and definitely not a right. But I’d be a lot more pessimistic if we were sitting in 10th or even 6th and had some obvious improvements to make. A long way to go.

Opinions differ. Fine. Some opinions are more reasoned than others. Definitely. A novice Manager has you top of the League after ten games … has a 3 or 4 game blip coinciding with a depleted forward line .. and the calls for sacking begin. My opinion .. for what it’s worth .. is that the cup is three quarters full. Whitehall should have recovered in two weeks ..I don’t think he was fully there on Saturday. Carlton could be in the squad in a couple of weeks and making a significant contribution by November. I would be surprised if we haven’t brought in a couple of loans by Christmas. I’m optimistic that we’ll be in a good position by the New Year. I’m not sure .. but I’m optimistic.Thats my opinion.

Michelle and those around her have thrown everything at stabilising the club financially. The debt is still not cleared. Nobody has to sponsor anyone or anything. Maybe the ‘cashing in’ to current goodwill smacks of a bit of desperation but I’m cutting them as much slack as I can. They’ve earned it. That’s why I bought a season ticket knowing I could only get to 13 or 14 games. Some of the above seems a bit unappreciative of all that’s gone before to me.

Hoping for at least 4500 tonight…would 5000 be too optimistic? It’s difficult to know .. how will the novelty of Friday night pan out? How many are still on hols? Will Kiddy bring a decent number?Really looking forward to this one.
Another clean sheet and a couple of second half goals into the Donny Rd end will do for me.

On the doping subject ..can a country be too big to be penalised? Russia barred for military adventures ..but China tests 23 swimmers positive for a banned substance and waved through!! Not as if a totalitarian regime would use illegal substances to boost its prestige. ( E Germany excepted.)

Yep. Agreed. Beestin could find a place in a midfield three. Not sure whether a format change is wise but that front 3 could be devastating at this level. Sometimes you have to go with the best you’ve got. Not convinced we can get the best from Roberts in the centre.
