Grealish now saying he won’t have anyone putting him down and he did offer to take a penalty, that offer wasn’t taken up by the gaffer.

My point is that there was no burning desire amongst the Portuguese, in fact most only knelt after seeing other team mates do so one by one. As I say even the commentator thought it worthy of comment at the time.

Whilst your correct that the Belgians and Portuguese players took the knee, the Belgians went down as a man in solidarity whilst the Portuguese went down in instalments. Even the commentator said finally all the Portuguese players kneel !! Just as the Belgians we’re getting back up.

The players and the manager will be at the ground training on Thursday Friday come out between 10,30 and 11 if anyone wants to have words with Cox Lillis and the players.

I cycled past this morning and unless my eyes deceive me ( they might have ) they were digging the training pitches up down there. Wouldn’t suprise me, they don’t seem to be doing much good.

We lost our shape a little bit and pushed forward too much,

The word according to our manager in a telegraph report, don’t expect attacking football any time soon .

Not the best idea putting all our faith in Kev when he’s only managed more than half a seasons worth of games twice in the last seven years ( 34 & 27 )

Reading this today from Hurst you could be forgiven for thinking he had come back to Scunny ..,,

Performance-wise, the lads are trying, I didn’t see anything where I would say people aren’t trying, but as much as I love those attributes – which should be a minimum by the way – there’s an old saying that you can put a dog on the pitch and they’ll run around, but you won’t do very well with a team of dogs.

Maybe Swan is more intelligent than we thought, he’s got the manager with experience for where we’re going next season ( and most of the squad) so let’s all just sit back and watch the car crash unfold.

Reading the reports on the local Derby both teams were very poor. It’s funny that when you read the Mariners section of the telegraph the Grimsby players marks are quite good, rose tinted specs maybe ?

I don’t much use social media now, occasionally looking what’s trending on Twitter. Yesterday after the Millwall thing there was a young chap calling the booing out saying that he was sickened by the abuse black players receive every time they play, he was offering to argue that point with all comers. Today I have just read this one the bbc sport website.

Closed stadiums were both a shelter and a sanctuary for players on the pitch from the continuous hostility to black players and racial justice,” a statement from the FBC said.

Does any of that ring true ?.

I have been up and down the country in 4 different divisions in the last 5 years and I can’t remember the last time ever heard abuse personally. This doesn’t mean I think it’s not happening, it is. But let’s at least be a bit more honest about it. When England played away I heard it and I think at home the last I saw at home I think was at a West Ham game.

I thought kick it out were doing ok and anyone identified was getting what they deserved so why do so many people think kick it out are failing?.

Did we really make a substitution whilst Fela was feeling an injury ? Timing seemed odd to me. Not that I think it made any difference. Anyway at least we had A shot on target.

But Cox wasn’t our manager when most of them were signed ! Especially the one who took three years to complete one seasons worth of games.

Whilst I’m reading this thread the Mrs is reading news on the Manchester bombing, 21st century , when it takes 2 hours to get a fire engine to a bombing in Manchester City centre and the person in charge of security for the police was on a 2 hour meal break. But don’t worry, we will learn lessons

Maybe he should have gone with punching coppers round the face to get rid of his frustrations, at least he would have got tea and scones and a comforting arm round the shoulder.

The massive bonus for Cox right now is that if he doesn’t read this website ( and why should he ?) nobody is telling him how poor he’s doing.

If you didn’t see the red flags after Cox had read that pre prepared speech before he even got the job ( I wonder who wrote that ? ) then you really weren’t taking any notice.
Probably the same person who brought in all the new players pre season and who is really calling the shots again now.
It hasn’t taken long for the strings to start to show ( Sandy Shaw )
