That second goal could be very costly, can’t say we didn’t deserve that because we did. We looked so good for 30 minutes, we just need to be ruthless. The minute substitutions are made we lose all flow, there was only going to be one team score second half.

Only one frustration here, we take an age to get going up front. Between minutes 50 and 70 we seem to come alive and start making the runs and passes we all want to see. A couple of goals go in and we change the team about losing all momentum. Give the lads their head and let them go at it, surely it builds confidence.

When our squad was put together were we?
We were talking about if this years team fails.
If we don’t gain promotion this season, then most of these players will move on and we’ll be watching glorified pub team players next season.
So explain how Tamworth, a club who were in the Southern League last season have managed to assemble a table-topping squad?
Will Tamworth be having to pay the payments to buy back a three million pound football ground ?
What If?
We aren’t promoted this season?
If we aren’t promoted this season, this team that is certainly good enough for promotion will be broken up.
Surely with having to spend plenty of finance buying back the ground, we will get stuck in this division for a while.
This is why we need to find a better way to “manage” the team away from home.My view is that Dean probably isn’t good enough but there’s no way the club can afford to be sacking managers at the moment, and nor should it, so we have to accept it and get behind him as best we can.
Totally agree, it’s a shame because he has the passion, he maybe needs a good second in command because we need him to pull through for us with the quality he has in the team.
The team assembled is certainly good enough for promotion
Unfortunately, every now and again the manager gets involved.

April 29, 2023 at 9:14 pm in reply to: For Pity’s Sake When Is The Very Short Retained List Announced? #261322We don’t seem to be hearing much from Dean, what’s that all about ?
We played a match yesterday and there wasn’t even the inspiration for a thread on it, is that a first ?
Employing Dean in the first place was the stupid decision. As I said before if Nelson and Hilton had taken us down no one would have complained. Apparently we need Jimmy to bring in his own players and then have ten games. We could have done that at the end of this season, what’s the difference ?

Did Elliot Whitehouse score again today ?
GO
It seems Dean will be here next season. I would say Mr Hilton will furnish him with just enough options to hide his ineptitude. We probably can’t expect to win against Wrexham or Notts County but if your manager can’t even get players to compete against the team next to you in the league, when you’re playing at home then when are we going to compete?.Have we actually been up for any of the last 4 games ?. On the bright side, the stability of not getting relegated next season will be seen as a massive bonus I suppose.
The big mistake was changing Nelson, not because he was better or JD worse, because nobody would have blamed Nelson or Hilton for failure this season.
It would only take 4 lines.
Let’s dance to Joy Division
Let’s celebrate the irony
Everything is going wrong
And I’m so happy, yes I’m so happy.
The WombatsBrought in to take us to a division he has ( limited ) experience in. Looks like he’s a success to me.
Nor has Nelson barring a month or two. I’d have been happy with Nelson, as would most, but if we’re choosing Conference experience as a criticism for Dean it has to apply for Nelson really.
True
As I say, seven points from the next four games and I’ll be convincedGo on then, if he can get 7 points from 7 games I’ll be convinced
So, sea sick Steve’s battered old 3 string guitar was passed over to Dawes and Nelson. Dawes didn’t fancy it but Nelson did and slowly started to get a tune out of it.Then we were saved, but the new messiah wanted to bring in his own man. Shame that man didn’t look at the pitch a little whilst he was being shown round as we were actually playing some football that day. Anyhow the new guy was soon given 3 extra strings and turned that guitar into … a banjo.Cheer up, none of this is the new guys fault and at least we can have a stunning rendition of squeezebox as we disappear into the abyss.

Percentage football
The games moved on.
Even Wimbledon back in the day had some very good players.I was talking to someone about leaving early, last night and he reminded me of that game against Orient all those years ago. In the modern game David Harley would have been lambasted by his manager for not turning round and giving the ball to his goalkeeper to keep possession, instead of hammering it fully fourty yards straight into the back of the net.

Nuttall is improving every game but i can’t help but feel that if he had passed to Apter in the first half and not been greedy we would have won today as that would have put us 4-1 up
Spot on, teams win games, and if he’d not done what he did the whole second half, turn round into the defender and give them the ball, we might have put the game to bed.
Can we get it done before the early bird offer finishes as I’d like to be there on Saturday
It has been happening for too long. Exactly the same under Cox.
Then they should ave been properly “ managed” out of their contracts and the door !!

Alcy posted this on the day we were relegated (see Renee’s stat post). So he has got a crystal ball!
A slice of Scunthorpe Pie anyone?
Think everyone has caught the last train for the coast. Dining car I believe.
If we were on snowpiercer I know who’s head we’d be sticking out of a porthole
Oh and can I get numbers pepper sprayed by plod and handcuffed by the local stewards at todays match for invading the playing area
It would seem so
Anyone one want to be daft enough to tell me that Bristol Rovers will have points deducted and denied promotion for their fans invading the playing area ? No I thought not.
