The SUFC super sleuth Aidan Wilko has spotted a face in a training image

Has he been scouting in Doxford Park too?

Hard to get an idea on the feeling amongst fans as it’s flat on here and it’s the Stuart Maw show over the road.

Chester will win out, Darlington as outsider who comes from nowhere.

We’ll sneak into the play offs.

Just think, if Hilton had not won control of the club, he wouldn’t have had to create the Iron Hour podcast.

” he was at a family event the other day,” hope we’re not continuing with the unprofessional attitude of Jimmy Dean era

I’d be more concerned if he didn’t turn up at Brackley tbh.

Careful with subscribing, DAZN are notorious for making it difficult to leave once you’re in.

They do have very deep pockets and have spent a fortune making inroads into boxing- I can only presume they are testing the waters for a move into the EFL/premier league in the future.

Bet the EFL are gutted they didn’t see them coming, the financial state of most of their clubs would have snapped their hands off.

Would you like them for free? Cheaper than Costa for their little offerings

Used to getting a bacon cob and cup of tea off his mate, that’s why!

People will pay £2-3 for these things, it’s that price in costa as 64 says.

The bit about people those not able to go being easily replaced stinks by any standards ,no body in their right mind would ever send out such a message to fans who’ve done so much to get this club back on it’s feet.
The begging bowl is full right now and it may not get filled again so easily. But then again if we can’t refill it someone else will ?

All clubs think like this, i’ve not been at a home game for 3 years but ive never had a message or email from the club saying “Dear C****, we’ve not seen you at GP for some time, why aren’t you here? how can we get you back”

Clubs go on about loyalty but when it comes to making the effort they often shy away.

There is no room for players like Adelakun in AB’s squad.
Okay, he had the ability to tear a team to shreds – but for me – his game average was just 5/10.
I am always deeply saddened when you see a potentially great player who disappears in so very many matches.

The Talent was there but his head sometimes wasn’t. We did well to get a decent fee from Bristol City.

If the budget is there, add to the forward options.

Yes I know it’s our decision both teams have to agree to a change.
I refer to the muppets Turnbull, moody and co,when in the NL Turnbull got the Barnet game changed at short notice from a Saturday to a Friday night game

Whilst i’m sceptical about those you mention AWG we do have a new person on the board who is supposedly the brains behind this(See video). MH has talked about making GP a year round venue.

It seems to be working for HKR with them selling out a fair few games this season.

Grimsby home to Bradford that day, Hull City away, so can’t see it being a Humberside Police Request.

Maybe the club want to trial Friday nights again.

Also i do have a small smile when people get angry over moving from the Sacred 3pm saturday. That’s going looking at the latest Football league TV Deal.

A smaller squad supplimented by loans from higher up clubs.
At the moment we have a decent “Spine”
    In goal Fitzsimmons
    At the back Kouougon/Evans
    Midfield Clunan/Law
    Up front Whitehall

Next priority is another forward imo.

The very same people who were moaning we were spending too much money who kept droning on about us not being sustainably run are the same old miserable whining pillocks, who are now moaning that we’re cost cutting and the standard of players we’re signing aren’t comparable with last season.

They fall into three groups on here.

The ones who were concerned about how long an owner who was prepared to offer lots of money to his pub team manager and how long it would last.
The ones who were concerned but prepared to go with the flow.
The ones who could be bought with a Bacon cob and a cup of tea or a reduced price Sunday Dinner.

WG if you are trying to tell me that you think we’re a better football team without Ogle, Butterfield, Elliott and DSF you must have been hitting the hard stuff again.

Regarding the departing players.. Ogle was good, not great. Elliot didn’t feature all that often. Sembie Ferris only contributed towards the back end of the season when coming back from his loan and then you have your hero Butterfield, who was way less effective towards the 2nd half of last season.

We failed to gain promotion last season, we at times lacked fight and energy. I think we only came back from a losing position twice all last season.

If last seasons team was that good, why were we often out run and out fought by part time players with much less ability ?

Ok being technically fantastic, but our team last season lacked energy and running power. The balance between technical ability and energy and athleticism needed to be addressed from last season.

Will be fully addressed this coming season ?. We will have to see, but Butler’s going the right way about it during pre season training

You confuse me iron414 because you keep harping on about last seasons players but as I said above, it wasn’t right last season. How can you keep banging on about last season’s team when we came back from a losing position twice and we kept being out worked by part time players ?

Am I missing something here ?

Are you doing a Deerey here and quoting something i’ve not written.

As this is the Recruitment thread, are we making any bids for the England squad? Suppose sales of Bacon and Sausage Cobs will cover it…

Not just “bottom of the barrel” IFA, as WG says there will be EFL players looking for a club come end of contract time and release by existing clubs. Whilst I do have concerns about the quality of recruits the biggest concern for me is a players motive for coming here. “Can’t get anything else” and “It’s another years pay towards retirement” are not the kind of players I want in my team.

Isn’t that how we ended up with Beestin? Nobody else would touch him.

As someone once sang “Have a little patience”
