Haven’t seen the game (Gareth’s blog seems to be the quickest getting the highlights out)but it’s a point away from home stopping the rot. the moaning on here and elsewhere you’d think we were on the verge of the NPL ffs

Those Bath Towels being advertised over there are horrendous, not seen anything like it.
Even the shops on Skegness Market wouldn’t take them.
Chester have signed a winger, Dylan Mottley-Henry, to add pace and power, to quote their manager. They have two players suspended for the game at Scarborough.
Scored against us in the Cup for Shields, he doesn’t hang around at clubs much.
Spalding, backed by a multi-millionaire clothing retailer and managed by Jimmy Dean… Third from bottom of the Southern Premier
(Stamford are Top, nice to see!)
Just for AWG!
We were so hard up newspapers were toilet paper and im not kidding
You must have kept the Telegraph sellers in business.
What’s that with Boston they got up on pure luck alone weren’t even in a playoff position after 60 mins in the final league game, and 2 penalty shootouts in the playoffs.
Dean held us back last season apologies for the pun and Butler seems to be doing the same this season at the moment.Look at Boston when they dropped out the league, they were nearly in the 7th Tier before stopping the rot.
At least you’ve finally admitted Dean was a spoofer, took you long enough.
Stu posting his Custard slices was the final straw.
No, a succesful Hospitality professional is not required here, and they’re already calling for the return of the burgerman over the road.

I think what frustrates me is the complete lack of perspective among a section of the Iron fanbase, combined with the vocal section which cheered on Swann & Hilton’s ruinous spending for the last decade. We’re not rich any more. We’re not going to blast our way through this league – if that was going to happen, the time was last season but sadly we had a completely incompetent manager.
And I don’t think it’s just this board or social media – just have to see the IronArmy vid from Guiseley to disprove that.
And a lot of them haven’t changed, they think we can just walk out this league when you see how long it took York City and Stockport County to get promoted.
Since being bored by Hurst, Covid and the downward spiral of the last two owners i’ve seen a lot of Non League football… they are countless examples of throwing money at a league(or throwing money on credit as we did) and not getting anywhere.
Boston is a good model to follow – they were in a mess and they did have David Newton’s money but it wasn’t millions and they had a lot of financial mess to clean up. They also had good club men(Craig Singleton) who were prepared to do anything.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of James Moody given when Swann and Hilton were putting words in his mouth, but he’s delivered over the last few months.
The older fans don’t help though.. Some who were quite happy as long as they had their perks(you don’t need me to mention who)and little club and barked at anyone who mentioned anything wasn’t quite right.
In short to coin a phrase, a few need to Wise up.

I’m on Holiday, shame would have gone to that.
Watching any of Hilton’s Heroes in action would be fun.Dean when appointed had a win ratio of 16% and an open chequebook.
Butler hasn’t got to 18 games yet and has lost a few players, we’ll see.
Checked out Stu’s X feed… Even more interesting is his requests for ‘nudeys’ to several scantily clad Asian girls. Who’d have thought, the dark horse! Particularly liked the one where, in response to ‘send hi for nudes’ he replies with ‘hi, up the iron’ made me chuckle.
IFA you might want to rethink those match worn underkecks!
Must be why he’s having Tea out, Sue might have said go for a Thai meal if you like them that much.
How can you not take an interest Ironawe he posts what he’s had to eat every time he goes in the place ffs.
Don’t be like IFA then and read every thing posted on there.
Sleaford are where they normally are round mid-table, bit of a bumpy pitch at times which wouldn’t suit some of our ex League “Stars”.
Horncastle had a rough season in the Lincs league. Great club there though.
I see we are doing all sorts of offers for saturday, get a big crowd in and a result. thought that yesterday though!
Some Drivel posted online, one suggesting Butterfield had he been retained would swat teams aside on his own, Mbappe style.
Time to cash in on some of the JD/DH Signings?
Some of these faces would have clapped the team off after the 4-0 loss to Darlington
1-2
Come on, no messing around this time.
Having read the article on fanbanter about Liverpool and West ham fans protesting, and the Football supporters association coming out with much the same.i say to ‘My’ club
“Stop exploiting loyalty”Manchester United?
That was at its worst during the latter Swann/Hilton Era, Giving sad old farts like Wally Kent a platform “Buy a season ticket – support your team” during the appaling Cox and Hill periods with all the dreadful games. and then Hilton letting all the local idiots back in making the match day “experience” worse.
Spalding 3-2 Biggleswade
Today, United’s biggest crowd (500) of the season saw them edge out fellow strugglers Biggleswade.
Posh at home too(Who did their best to throw away a 3 goal lead), although Biggleswade is not far from Spalding..
In the words of Iron-Awe… Marvellous…
`Like the current government, the waste and mismanagement of the previous custodians has to be cleared up somehow.
In to the next round, great effort tonight lads.
Poor Crowd but asking £15 when Liverpool + Man Utd on the box was never going to work.
Question is.. Was our superfan at the match or watching his beloved Merseyside Reds?
Spalding actually managed to draw on Saturday
Someone else who wont be there then
Well, will you?
You might get a response today Cass, it was Monday Club yesterday so no chance.
15 quid is a bit of a piss take for the replay, with a few premier league teams on the Box it’ll only be the hardcore down at GP Tuesday.

Any notes for a Matlock fan. Currently the club is owned by its fans (a season ticket give you a vote/share). The board has called a Emergency General Meeting for 2 Oct to tell us about new investor also tp chan̈ge the club to issues shares, so looks like the board want us to vote to pass the club to our mystery man !!
Welcome.
In short, he came to us after the previous owner(Swann) was looking to sell up after our fall from L1 to the National League. Previously involved at Ilkeston.
He’d tried to buy Bury, and their fans warned us having looked into his background, but he got people on side(A Facebook fan page with 7,000 members)and some of them abuse fans in the street and online.
If you want some examples of how he deals with Criticism.

Ground share with a local non league club
Can your Dad come on here and confirm that please?
Was it wrong then?
I’ve read all the answers given to the questions and pretty pleased in all honesty. I’ll believe in Hilton until I have reason not to. For any of you who hasn’t ready the back and forth, go read it. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We were, but not pleasantly.
I hope he stays but fear he will go, football is a family warts and all specially outside the top 2 divisions, I don’t and won’t have a problem with him staying more like one of us we all have our pasts, well at least some of us do and don’t deny them.
I think he will stay.Seems there are some on here want him away, but there a few thousand out there who want him to stay. We all make mistakes need to continue to move forward
just chucking this in the mix , not wishing to start a shit fight but ..if DH walks away and no others come in isnt it pretty much certain the club will die…
Bearing in mind DH did step in to basically save the club , now the best squad n set up for years in a good place to move back up the football ladder …so he has done a little bit of bird ( i know many who have) mislead on occasions but id much rather have him at the helm then the club go under.
Listening to his interview sounded to me like a broken man who will walk and who can blame him.. and our club is fooked.
Im sure certain members will be along soon posting with glee .
Broken man? It was a sob story, looking for sympathy, do you think a leopard can change it’s spots?
Yes i have been skeptical of DH and it was a sob story agree ..but i dont really give a shit if its between Scunny having a football club or not.
so hes
convicted and served his time
told a few porkiesand also
saved the club from the brink of going under
bought a squad to compete
smiles on faces and abuzz around the placeGood mix to be an owner ??? maybe not but no worse than the UKs politicians and more
Scunthorpe still has a football club
btw if he goes n the club folds would you shed a tear ???
A fairly easy question to answer, with Hilton at the helm we have a club, without him – who knows. Some of us are desperate for our club to survive, others just want to see Hilton humiliated. Do I have concerns? Of course I do, but I also wonder why you and Interested Bystander are so keen to destroy an individual.
(Reply to Ruuger’s question)Some Crackers in this thread and i’m only on the first page.
September 12, 2024 at 8:44 am in reply to: david pay day was yesterday why are staff still waiting for their money? #290761Deerey was IBs biggest champion at one point what’s changed Deerey? Pat had him sussed.
Yes he did, didn’t he?
Glad your not responding in kind DM to ironeye/ ironinsider, his agenda is well set by now and as you point out very accurately he has no way of knowing any final outcome regarding our club on such matters. He has posted vitriol and bile towards SUFC and in particular it’s owner for months now with not a shred of conclusive evidence to back up any of his claims. He professes to be a fan but his agenda is nothing like that of a genuine supporter, just what motivates such individuals is beyond me.
Hmmm….
Yeah it’s me that posted it.
Mind blowing some of the negative comments and rumours that come on this site. 95% of them ain’t backed up either
Why would someone go out the way to make an account up which is family and friends on it from years ago? Must of took alot for him to post on the Facebook page but then again there’s rumours constantly so entitled to give his side back?
Unfortunately some people ain’t happy unless they have something to have problems with?
Get off his back and give the bloke a chance ffs
Hahahahahahahaha!
i won’t say i told you so as it will be too painful but just know i tried and nobody heeded my warning. my last post for a while, vest wishes all
Myself, DeereyMe and CMC seem sceptical. The ground stuff proved to be a real concern. I hope for the best, but won’t suspend scepticism.
Correct Sidey.
