Just gone past the New Manor Ground on train to Manchester.
Same as last time i was there, no sign of the “World Class” Training centre yet but there is a pitch with a red shed on it.

11 Bishops? Jeez, I would not pay to watch that team. Most over-rated player in Scunthorpe’s history.
Jim Goodwin I’d say. Overpaid mouth on legs, last seen making a complete hash of the Aberdeen job.
Anyone who worked round South Park in the 90s remember a Phil Swannick, don’t know if hes still around but the Honest Phil’s burgers and teas Stadium would be a good sponsor
That’s it, if there’s no chips we’ll chase him out.
‘false accounts looking to divide opinion between the majority on here who are loyal Scunny fans’
Talking of ‘false accounts’ I-A, you and other non Twitter users / observers ought to know that a number of new Twitter accounts appeared a few weeks back threatening Iron supporters critical or sceptical of the new owner and suggested plans. Pretty nasty stuff. They came and went pretty fast. Those accounts have since been deleted. Pretty unprecedented stuff as far as I’m aware. Think it’s useful for non Twitter users / observers to be aware of this amd the wider environment.
It’s all starting to add up…
This forum is turning into daft laugh land the further some of these threads go, guess it’s a symptom of living under the Tories. Oh dear what have I said now 😭
You think it’s bad on here, I just looked on Scunny United fans group and Julie has lost it because someone has a different opinion.
Wonder why Patrick isn’t on there spreading the love? What could the reason be I wonder?
I don’t think the promise of buying Generic Greene King “Ale” will cut it on there.
They want to know if they will get a new club blazers.

Boston is segregrated, I’ve been there when there’s been 30 odd away fans
Peterborough Sports will probably be all ticket, terrace behind the goal
South Shields we all know aboutCassidystash
I understand people being concerned about the ground being closed all week, in my opinion it is something that would be temporary until it could be transformed into a profitable situation.
At Ilkeston we all work together for the sake of the club, full time staff and volunteer’s, for example our bar manager also looks after the pitch, the barmaids can drop on to the catering, who ever is spare might clean the toilets, we have volunteer’s who Man the club shop, ones who do the secretarial work, ones who Man the turnstiles, ones that act as stewards, we even have a couple of guys who come and clean the car parks and light gardening duties after home games.
At our level, and your level now I suppose, it is very costly to have full time staff that generate no money for the club, or worse still make a big loss!
I have seen your facilities and know with your fantastic fan base that I could turn your restaurant in to a good profitable business, I am the catering manager at Ilkeston and do that now, with a much smaller fan base, our kitchens and bars keep our heads above water all the time, we do not rely on matchdays alone, we are always hosting some event or another, yesterday for example one of our junior teams played here and won their game to win the league this year, our ladies team also played and won their league as well (but an away match), on Saturday after a very busy day we hosted a private party in the clubhouse till silly O’Clock.
All this fund raising for our club has Been built up over the last few years, and could easily be reproduced at your ground with the right supervision, staff, and determination.
We have 2 very well furnished hospitality rooms with a bar and food counter that company’s pay a lot each week to entertain their guests, with a raised viewing section to see the game… very, very posh.
They are booked far far in advance by local businesses.
If your interested and because its my field I will post and tell you how to turn your restaurant into profit?, reading posts from Scunthorpe it appears to be losing money?, why would anyone in their right mind keep it open to employ, and not upset, old Joe bloggs, who has worked there years causing the fans to take to their keyboards and slate the chairman!
Your Chairman knows Jack shit about catering and running a restaurant, but he does know who to ask to look at it with a view to turning it around, I would imagine it is very low on his things to do at the moment, but when it does come to the top of the list it will be sorted…. do you keep it open until then and keep losing money?… or do you close it? ….until it can be turned around?….. same with the club shop, etc, you have the potential there to turn your stadium into a gold mine in my opinion… just no , or the wrong miners to mine it.
As I have said previously, I would have liked to have shown some scunny fans our ground, facilities, and the place in general,
It is most certainly not what one muppet described yesterday, mind you he did mention he found plenty on spice around here?…. think I might find plenty in Scunthorpe…. if I was looking for it as well!Catering Manager?
Muppets?
Are you the Swedish Chef then?CMC
Of course it’s a depressing place…. for YOU!…. its not going bust is it?
It’s buzzing. No surprise, Easy to get spice round the place.
I don’t think slagging Ilkeston off helps.
Have you been there?
Think Patrick and his 3 character friend have hit the Bulgarian Vodka tonight and think i’m slagging off Ilson Town FC…

Dont stop keep moaning have you ever thought if hilton doesnt buy the club no of course not
If he does purchase the ground, i’m sure the Legal Documents will use Commas, Capital letters and Full stops.

CMC & CASSIDYSTASH
did you come to the football ground?….. or do you need spec savers?
Small town … big club… that says something doesn’t it?
Ilkeston probably as high as they can go with being a small club, and Scunthorpe have no limit to how low they can go with being a big club…. !!!!! TOSSERI’ve been to the football ground, why else would i be in Ilson?
Depressing hole of a place.
Is it your last post so that you don’t have to answer my question, in answer to your comment, repeated here?
“Ilkeston is a hive of activity everyday of the week”
I’ve been in Ilson on the busiest day of the week – Saturday. it’s dead. they all go to get pissed and fight in Nottingham.
Not much different to Ilson tbh
My last post ( definetely)
Dean…. 4 promotions in 5 years.
Easy when you’ve got an open chequebook!
We played a match yesterday and there wasn’t even the inspiration for a thread on it, is that a first ?
Lack of interest COK?
Where have SULSESC gone, thought they would have been busting a gut going to all the Southern away games this season, more local fans than others travelling away…
Bit of revisionism required here. Poison dwarf kept KVV and Colclough(Who was a silly boy but he’s got over it)on the bench because they wouldn’t run round like greyhounds.
KVV is loved at Motherwell.
More layers than an Onion isn’t there.
Here’s our Jimmy complaining about fans not turning up.
Cox ,Hill, Daws, and Wilcox.?
If Hill has anything it’s as a racconteur; Cox is alright, Daws spoke quite well and Wilcox too. There’s no comparison.
Hill and Cox should have been nowhere near the managers job !
Wilcox – not particularly inspiring but the players liked him.
Daws – one temp manager option too many.McAtee didn’t like Wilcox, wouldn’t play for him if you all remember.
Talk about Desperate, Luton are looking to sell McAtee already, complete waste of money for them.
Ask roderick langham what he thinks of him
Why don’t you ask him, write it all down then come on here to keep us informed, after all you always provide plenty of evidence to back up your posts and insinuations don’t you?
Do you want more work for SST to do?
Oh dear what a complete s***show!
Coolsilk will be happy, this looks to me like a ground purchase isn’t happening any time soon.
Bold Prediction: We won’t see the start of the 2024-5 Season.
Next season will be great.
Group of Jimmy’s mates turn up for a match sat in the exec boxes, giving it lad banter and swigging carling as we let a third goal in at home to Farsley.
Did he put any money behind the bar in the Tavern on his way home last night?
Allowing Dean the summer to sign his own players is a potential disaster. His in depth knowledge of players will be limited largely to NLN and below, how will that produce a team likely to progress? IF(?) we’re paying Rance £1500/week that would suggest to me that players might be coming here for a good payday rather than wanting to play for The Iron, which is the kind Dean wants according to what he said.
If you look at the PS team that came up it’s mainly ex- Peterborough and Boston United players. they won’t be cheap compared to what Stamford(who got promoted yesterday), Spalding and lower down Yaxley and Deeping can offer…How did they get where they are, on crowds of 200-300, no surprise is there..
Oh dear someone is really sulking over different points of view from others, how marvellous.
Not seething, laughing at you
A 3-0 home defeat to Warrington in a couple of years
“Jimmy is the man for the job”
I dislike the Cods but not to the point of seeing them go bust, which is what a fair few of them wanted of us.
Playing Donny today, another club in decline, Cods could have taken more than the 3000 tickets they got(remember when we played them in the cup and loads locked out?),i think Donny would have hoped they could give more to hide the empty red seats in their ground every week, or balance their books.

I hope not
Beestin is like Hallam, Discarded by Donny for being a crock, i’d give Shrimpton a new deal over him and let the “Silky midfielder” find another club.
