Is there any positives ?
I am really worried the club will be gone in next couple of years. Talk of paying £40k fee out for a forward. That’s stupid cash. The board are giving this “investor” the red carpet but the fans seen worried. I guess it will be rail roaded through a vote on Oct 1st.
Cheers for your advice, just hope enough at the club listen.

You mentioned before that the supporters get a vote, is that to elect him on the board ?
If so, At the very least push for a delay in the vote for the board to carry out some due diligence, there’s plenty of information out there now about him
Now.Wish you the best of luck; visited Matlock a few months back and the ground is in a cracking location with one of the best in the country for a football ground .

A convicted fraudster
Pulled funding one month into a new season whilst signing players on extortionate contracts in the summer. Staff and players left without pay.
Lots of unsavoury stuff behind the scenes that I’ll avoid putting into black & White on here but can be easily found on social media. Perhaps message the following on Twitter:

Liking Barrows a lot this season. Just a thought – as good a player as Ogle is – was part of his appeal to do with mullet wigs and affability?

It’s commendable how they put together such well organised sides on gates of 2-300 home fans.
I did see last week one of their directors expressing his frustration that they can’t attract more supporters, it will always be a struggle in such a saturated area for teams though with Ashton itself having 2 .

Sounds like I’m the only one, but I’ve quite enjoyed it in recent months. Think we are fortunate to have 2 podcasts dedicated to talk about SUFC.

Loved everything about that tonight: everybody putting bodies on the line and showing some real quality in both boxes. Kiddy looked a good outfit and credit to them for coming to play and win the game, just thought we had too much for them when we stepped it up at points.
Atmosphere superb aswell- would like to see Friday games happening once or twice a season.

He was potentially a penalty kick away from him managing us in the National League- fine margins.
Some classless comments on social media regarding his new appointment, despite his flaws he held together a team that was ready to jack it in last year and god knows what else he had to endure under dodgy Dave.

Cracking result; thought we allowed them far too much possession for periods in the second half and made it harder than it should’ve been- performance to forget for Carlton but minutes in the bank.
Hell of a lot of positives too take: Roberts looked much more convincing in the 10 role and Evans replaced an impressive Boycey effortlessly. Pleased to see us pressing further up the field and looking more direct with our play.
MOTM for me was Whitehall, perhaps overly critical of him sometimes but today was a proper centre forward performance. Kelly also has impressed and will feel aggrieved to not be starting against Kiddy.
Another solid turnout from the Iron faithful too- 500 travelled. Be great to see a 5,000 crowd now on Friday

I’ll Be shocked if we are in the EFL before the end of the decade. Inevitably we will be out of this league sooner rather than later by strength of budget alone. The real test will be competing on a shoestring alongside the likes of Oldham etc.
The National League is essentially League 3/Division 4 now and it will be very difficult to leave unless we receive external investment or they increase the promotion places.
In the meantime, The board are doing everything right thus far by excelling on the commercial side and doing their best to encourage people down to GP.

Personally, it’s not the case of wanting him chasing shadows across the front line to look like he’s putting the effort in, just taking an extra touch or moving into space to allow the midfielders to arrive into play to keep an attack flowing- Hayes was brilliant at it. Sometimes it struggles to stick up front and against the better sides we could put ourselves under pressure if the ball is constantly coming back.
The run for the goal and finish was excellent though, and as Ex officio stated, that’s what it boils down to at the end of the day.

Good win against a decent team, who will probably be midtable at the end of the season based on their performance today. The sort of team we struggled to break down last season, so I am pleased we had a convincing win. Butler’s plan to boost fitness seems to be working so far, as I think that was a key difference towards the end as Marine tired.
Roberts is struggling at centre attacking mid and Whitehall took his goal well, but his overall play needs improving. Struggling with headers, strength, passing and controlling the ball. That goal showed his strengths in finishing, but with Beestin playing like that and Carlton waiting in the wings, he needs to be more consistent throughout the game. I like Nicholson and Clunan seems to be stepping it up.
Agree almost word for word. Thought Boyce had a good game too and probably edged MOTM for me.
Found myself comparing us to last season’s first home against P’Boro sports; similarly during periods against them it felt flat and eventually we ended up walking away with a point. Much improved today; early days but it’s refreshing to see a manager proactively managing a game, like for like changes instead of trying to protect a 1-0 lead.
Still plenty to improve on, however a positive start.
