Constant criticism?

Phenomenal achievement for them and Russ. Hope they get a decent draw next round.

People will take comfort in their tactics and the refs performance as the reason for our failure to win today, but the reality is we were nowhere near good enough and were lucky for a point.
They matched us man-man and won their individual battles, I find it confusing why they decided to go for a draw when the 3 points were on the table.
Even before kick off you knew we would find it difficult to score without Whitehall, it’s a tough call with young fish as he needs game time to develop but maybe in hindsight today wasn’t the one. Their number 6 had him worked out in the first ten minutes.
My biggest concern is centre midfield and has been for some time. Dixon for Warrington did a number on us and so did the Radcliffe players today. Clunan has absolute stinker and I just don’t see what he brings to the side- I know some rate him but especially against side coming to slow the game down he does us no favours and is not strong enough for that position.
Massively disappointing result today which could come back to haunt us later in the season

On a side note- another absolute sh1t show been allowed to happen at Farsley with them now playing at Buxton for the foreseeable.
Good interview with a couple of their fans on the Ironhour podcast that goes into more detail.

Curzon are the side that have impressed me the most in the last 2 seasons- can’t look past them as our main contenders on what I’ve seen so far.

Cracking result; pleased To see Whitehall increasing his tally and young Fish getting another start and a goal. Just need Carlton on the scoresheet soon and we finally have some options up front where we looked so lacking a few weeks ago.
Have to follow this up with another good performance and win on Saturday now.

Certainly don’t have much of an appetite for the Fa trophy but it’s still a competition and a chance to build some momentum.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence our downturn started in the league when we went into the fa cup half hearted.

Contract extension made no sense whatsoever and puts in a corner if we now continue with our bad form.

Sounds like we played reasonably well and mistakes seemed to cost us rather than tactics/formation- on this occasion.
Still a dreadful result though, we had a decent opportunity to maintain the gap but now we are part of the pack. I fear Curzon are going to take some stopping, we simply cannot afford to have such indifferent form.
4 times this season we have dropped points from a winning position too, today 2 minutes after we scored both times – better leadership required on the pitch.

Simple.
The players aren’t good enough.
The manager isn’t good enough.Disagree with the first line, this team is more than capable of winning this league.
Second one remains to be seen
Be good to see young fish get another start, sounds like he had a good game on Tuesday.
Our poor run lately has allowed a few sides within touching distance, I have a sneaky suspicion Curzon could be the new Tamworth this year and be right up there, have to look at putting another 3/4 wins together consecutively

Good reports. Pleased to see fishburn receiving positive feedback and Carlton finally getting minutes in.
Couple of winnable games upcoming, must be looking at a maximum return.
Another poor performance and result for them against Buxton has led to calls for the managers head when the sun was shining out of his a*se before playing us.
Not only us with fickle fans

Think you’ve hit the Nail on the head there MkIron.
Fundamentally, it’s the reason I’d like to see Clunan out the side for a while and give some of the other lads a go. Absolutely no need to have a CDM spraying 10 yard balls wide with 3 Centre backs behind him, get someone in to go more direct or even have a run to make up 10/20 yards.
With regards to the wing backs, Ross had a strong start to the year but has gradually faded off as he’s retreated further into more of a full back role, he often seems to be caught in 2 minds now. With regards to the left side, AS good as Denton is as a left back it’s not the role for him further up, Kelly had a couple of solid games before his injury and seemed more adept at playing that role, perhaps time for another start?
Would be looking at doing something Lincoln did years ago and get a jazzed PowerPoint presentation ready and send RoJ and Lee to all the major football clubs within 90minutes drive with the intention of getting young talent sent here.
Loan market has been hit & miss for us in recent years but you can’t deny we’ve had some talent through.
With the purse strings so tight we would be foolish not to explore it is an option.
Think I’ve already mentioned it to you months ago but Those boost the budgets are initiatives from primarily fan owned clubs such as Darlo and Chester- we are not.
Paraded on the pitch and then criticising them days after with regards to the new lad being let go/leaving
Not the best look but each to their own I guess.

Think you’re onto something here, Rene. Certainly worth a closer look

Be nice to turn them over as never seen such a small fanbase with such delusions of grandeur.
Struggling to predict anything other than defeat though: 2-0
We seem to make catering hard work- had better food across non league then we dish up at our place.
If anyone follows the padded seat on social media, they will see how poor our hospitality looks in comparison to a lot of clubs too

The supporters are behind the team, we have over 4,000 supporters watching glorified pub football week in, week out, record shirt sales and taking more away from home than plenty of league 2 sides. Supporters have also had to plough in plenty of their money in various forms.
The idiots on social media will have their voice heard the loudest because that’s what encourages engagement. I saw plenty of posts calling for Artell’s head after 3 game, likewise Chester fans calling for their managers head before he turned it around.
There is a lot of valid criticism of the way we are heading on the pitch. Let’s be honest, the football isn’t great and we are in poor form. Constant scrutiny will come from having the biggest budget and the biggest expectation- if you don’t like that, go and manage/play for Oxford city.

Agree that 5 subs is really impacting the game, usually for the negative, but Whitehall was knackered today and had to go off.
Poor today, really poor.
Centre mid continues to be a burden, it has no impact on the game whatsoever. I just can’t warm to Clunan and feel he is a big part in why we are so slow with our build up.
Wing backs are hardly involved and the formation slowly evolved into a 5/3/2 which was what people feared.
Butler will be feeling the pressure tonight, we are still in a great position but supporters won’t tolerate this form.
Makes the contract extension this week look even more laughable.

Similar to why I was shocked Jimmy got an extension in January, the expectation is promotion and the last thing we need is to be paying another 2 members of staff for a year if they are sacked this season.
Butler’s had a good start and I’m more than happy with the appointment, but an extension after 8/9 games doesn’t make much sense.
The alternative is surely just wait and see how we progress through the season before offering out deals.

In an otherwise excellent statement, it does little to justify a contract extension at this stage in the season.

Strange timing for a contract extension

Not being a convicted fraudster would be a good place to start…
It is an interesting point though; Peter Swann would have passed every fit and proper test going and certainly put a substantial amount of his own money into this club, however you wouldn’t want him near your football club.
Blyth Spartans supporters boycotting on Saturday; taken over just before playing us last year by a shady businessman with no traceable wealth. Being ran into the ground and currently occupy the relegation places of the Northern Premier League.

Well the votes are kinda in !!!!
We were not informed about the name of the investor, but they done checks and they are not ideal but are acceptable.
We were asked to vote to allow the board to issue shares etc and bring investment. In the end a vote was approved for the board to return when the members have being given more information including safe guards !!! The vote was about 30 % completely agaist and 70% wanting more info.
See what happens next !!!
A sensible decision
Keep scrutinising and following the money. There will be plenty of journalists willing to help in that department.
Best of luck.
