Never mind what he’s done before – can he play CB?

He will, his long throw is keeping him in the team.
OK, I admit it, I’m a grumpy old b****r. I reckon I’m entitled to be and I voice my opinions based on what I’m seeing. I get frustrated, occasionally angry, when I see the blindingly obvious seemingly invisible to those that count. I know we are under serious financial constraints and I understand why but prioritising a CEO over players I do not understand. I hope it’s not Jim, sorry James, Rodwell – surely we learnt from that fiasco. It seems we have a totally inflexible manager, inexperienced but seemingly unwilling to learn. He’s new, he’ll make mistakes but must learn from those. To be clear – I don’t want him gone, I really want him to succeed, the club needs it.

It’s not “close” though is it? Close is the next day or two otherwise why say anything. Not as if the fans are pushing for a new CEO, players on the other hand….
A couple of weeks ago we were close to appointing a new CEO, what happened there.

Yes “We’re still in a strong position”
BUT not as strong as the position we were in a few weeks ago.But if the computer says it’s time up then……….
“Chance to put things right against Farsley as we did against Rushall”
Somebody needs to point out to Andy that even if we win 10-0 against Farsley we still don’t get back the 3 points we threw away yesterday.4 users thanked author for this post.
It’s possible to set up not to concede and still get a couple of goals. Not sure how that makes a mockery of claiming to want to win every game. Every manager wants to win every game, but they’re not stupid enough to think they will. If he’d claimed he would then I would agree with you.
You’re right, setting up defensively could still sneak a win – but does it give him the best chance of doing so?
He was happy with the point at Chester, the one he set up to achieve. I would expect similar tomorrow making a mockery of his “I want to win every game” assertion.

Much better!! Not top notch but a big improvement.
FBs (sorry WBs) played further forward.
Passes quicker and more accurate (some notable exceptions)
More attacking intent with 2 forwards + Alfie.
Well done Andy.Moving in the right direction though.
Potential 3-4-3?
5 home and 5 away. Win all the home games and I’ll forgive him for setting up to draw away. BUT (sorry Andy) will he set up to win at home?

“Scoring goals is harder than stopping them.”
Especially if you have 7 defenders and 4 attackers.
Kai Corbett still not starting at Shots, unused sub. this week.
Butler is confusing me (and maybe himself)
He has said repeatedly in interviews “I want to win every game”
He then sets up in an over defensive manner and says, as above,”if you don’t concede you can’t lose”
On the other hand if you score 5 you’re unlikely to lose either, can we try that for a bit and see how it goes?1 user thanked author for this post.
I think the key is a back 4. Not really fussed what happens in front of that, 4-2,3-3 or even2-3-1. Just get a CB off and a more forward thinking player on.
Sent off recently, maybe suspended?

” Top targets?” Any hints?
Restarting the academies will be a good start but they will take several years to produce their 1st players.
I have a terrible memory, can you remind me of the regular first teamers produced by the academy over the last 10 years or so. Thanks.

FYI AWG:-
“@SUFCOfficial
Chair and co-owner, Michelle Harness, revealed to fans in attendance following the broadcast portion of tonight’s forum that they are on the verge of announcing the club’s new CEO.”1 user thanked author for this post.
CM would have been better.
I bet Man. City supporters are loving Cole Palmer at Chelsea. (Mind you they’re still successful)
Winning games will certainly stop/reduce criticism, if it comes with entertainment then that’s a bonus. What prompts unrest is boring draws against teams we should be beating or, even worse, losing along with the (perceived) lack of effort/interest by some players and finally a complete inability to pass a ball successfully.

Lots of knowledge on here I-a.
(Along with a load of b******s as well of course!)Hindsight is a wonderful thing! At the time they weren’t good enough for the level at which we were playing. (IMO)
