More competition geographically though.
Unfortunately not, we have to rely on him reading Bru and taking notice.
Iron Bru for assistant manager?1 user thanked author for this post.
Don’t go. Learn, embrace change. You’re not necessarily wrong (though it’s fine to admit you are, ask Mrs CT) and 5-3-2 might sometimes be the best option – but not always, especially when it’s blindingly obvious that it’s not. i.e. surely never at home. Come on, most want you to succeed but you have to help yourself to be successful and that means admitting you’ve made mistakes and learning from them.

My spies are also suggesting Luke Williams.
What’s the logic in signing a former player whose career has been blighted with reoccurring injury, haven’t we been down that road enough in the past?
Doesn’t look to have been injured much the last few years playing in Iceland. Captain now too
Wiki would suggest otherwise:-
2015–2018 Scunthorpe United 37 (5)
2017 → Northampton Town (loan) 8 (0)
2018–2021 Hartlepool United 11 (0)
2021–2022 Gateshead 1 (1)
2022– Víkingur 31 (12)1 user thanked author for this post.
Echoing WGs post. Signed Brogan, Rowley, Fishburn and Shrimpton and doesn’t often pick them (never picks them if no injuries) and Braithwaite on a dual basis. Rowley, Brogan and Nicholson were from teams now in a higher division so presumably weren’t cheap. Wouldn’t two good enough to be regular starters have been better tha five that, in AB’s opinion, aren’t?
He wants WBs but didn’t sign any.1 user thanked author for this post.
AB had the chance to improve the squad during the summer, it didn’t go well did it?

If it’s luke williams that played for us years back, decent but his injury record is appalling.
106 games in 10 years according to Wiki, luckily he looks nothing like Ross Barrows.
Well if Mr Lakeland changed things at Shields today it didn’t work!
If he did at least he tried. Just the one change then, I hope it’s not deliberate but does a player lose his edge if he’s certain he’ll be picked for the next game?
Not his older brother I hope.
Not a 38 year old surely.
Recent results suggest that a change in priorities might be needed, maybe a couple of defenders that can defend?
Well it’s there now as long as you can get Radio Humerside. We could do with a few laughs on a Saturday.
comic the latest lolcow to make a fool of himself after sidey and pat the prat
For those of us from a different generation what is a lolcow please?
Too late to play today then?

Anybody with info on commentary. RH twitter shows link to BBC Sounds but our game not showing as available.
He Scored no important goals for us last season, Dean give him chances and he didn’t take any of them especially when Danny suspended.
Had chance to be the main man was first choice in the opening game at Tamworth subbed for Whitehall who scored and that was that.Used mainly as a lone striker, not his game. Should have been Elliott + Whitehall not either/or.

A formation that would certainly confuse the opposition and help us win more games you’d think.
I remember him reffing us once when he seemed determined not to be accused of favouring a former club. He had a shocker and gave us absolutely nothing. Strangely I don’t remember the result but we must have lost or I wouldn’t have remembered how bad he was.
IIRC Pepper was carried off with a serious, possibly career ending, injury.
Marples certainly sent off early, don’t remember the opposition.Striker from Farsley would be good IMO. Campton-Sturridge looked the business to me, albeit in a poor side. Doubt Howe would be affordable with his current scoring form.
Different style, Carlton as a lone striker – no chance, with Whitehall? Maybe given time.
Deerey he had his mind made up on playing this particular formation right from the start and would have shaped the squad the way it is for that very reason.
Only problem is now he’s assembled a squad to play a certain formation which he now finds out doesn’t work, but can’t really deviate from it due to his own recruitment of players. But that’s the problem – he hasn’t. His system doesn’t need wingers so he’s got that right. He needs wing backs – he didn’t inherit any and didn’t sign any. He needs 3 MFs and finished with 7. Exchange 2 MFs for 2 WBs and he’d have a chance of his system working. Otherwise a back 4 and 4-2 or 3-3 looks to better suit the current squad.
Fitzsimons
Scales Barrows Boyce Denton
Clunan (only ‘cos he can’t be dropped but not allowed to pass to Barrows or Boyce)
Shrimpton Brogan Beestin
Roberts
Fishburn (assuming Whitehall n/a)They won’t be expecting that.

Might have swapped a catering manager for a CEO. Agree about short term loans though, how risky can that be financially and, as you say, extend if effective.
Butler must have some input though, no point Turnbull getting another Youmbi and wasting time and money.I hear him knocking but he can’t come in! Butler can’t hear him.

It’s not just a bump, we were coasting downhill and now we’re facing a long, uphill climb which, it seems, we’re not equipped to deal with. It looks like we’re going downhill rapidly. Different methods needed for downhill vs uphill maybe?

It’s basically what Butler said last night Les
He looked and spoke like a broken man.
Can we have the players now??
