It would appear that Cox can only find room for 1 out and out forward and 2 vaguely attack minded players in his outfield 10. 7 permanently defending with the other 2 helping when we don’t have the ball. Virtually all our shots yesterday were from distance, the only option when all the other players are behind the man with the ball. Unauthorised attacking is punished by being played deeper or not played at all. We have players here capable of terrorising most L2 defences if they’re allowed to, set out to score goals and let the opposition do the worrying.

“Seems we may be trying to convert Abo Eisa into what he isn’t !! ”

A little used bench warmer in a poor L2 team you mean.

Our ‘best’ players in no particular order:-
    1. Not interested
    2. Injured.
    3. Playing out of position.
    4. On the bench.
    5. In the stand
    6. Looked like he could be among the best so moved out of position to become ineffective.
    Some good management needed.

    Deluded!!
“I’m disappointed with the result but the performance was a good one”
“We settled in and passed the ball well” and then ” We kept giving it away.”
    Also:-
” We must have had ten or eleven shots – but not many were on target, or six-yard entries which disappointed me.”
” The way we keep the ball is what we’re working on”
I’m not a manager Neil but I know which of the above I’d be working on. No good keeping the ball if you’re not using it to score.

Or we could be optimistic and call it 4-3-3?

, has to be behind Loft, McAtee, KVV, Turan and probably Hallam

Van Veen is currently injured, so unless he’s going to be played while wrapped up with duct tape, he’s not currently in the mix.

But so is Olomola, you said yourself he’s 3 weeks away.

“Olomola is about 3 weeks away as he’s not match fit”

Do you really think he’ll get a game, doubtful he’ll make the match day squad IMO. Cox might want a quick look but that’s all it will be I reckon, has to be behind Loft, McAtee, KVV, Turan and probably Hallam, Green & Jarvis as well.
Thanks MKI, should have said last two, I meant Yates and forgot Gabriel.

I also have a problem. I got as many points from the postponed game as I did, in total, from the four completed matches.
Should I switch to the 2-1 method do you think?

If, as reported, Rodders refused a transfer request from Colclough last January he has much to answer for, unbelievable Jeff!

I reckon Colclough will be on a good wedge, probably beyond most of L1 & L2. That aside, have you seen anything in the last 18 months that you think would encourage anybody to buy him?

Hard to see how Dales, Olomola, Mooney, Jarvis, Pugh and maybe more are going to get anywhere near the matchday squad if we don’t have a massive injury crisis. Is Cox keeping Eisa and McAtee out of the picture until the transfer window closes?

Don’t think there have been any/many complaints about the 3 points, they were badly needed. The complaints about the type of football I can understand, we were promised attacking football and, as this is the latest in a list of unfulfilled promises, then fans are bound to express concern. Similarly regarding selection, it’s not ‘favourite’ players not being selected but BEST players that fans are missing, (and best players out of position when they are picked) Whether you support the complaints or not it’s all perfectly understandable IMO, you must know that Bru posters know best! Our ideals will take time, we have to be patient.

    Posted this on 10th Sept:-
“Don’t underestimate the benefits of 10 outfield players giving 100% rather than 6 or 7.”

No reason to change my view.

If he had done otherwise people would have complained about giving away a late goal.

Not if we’d already scored 3 they wouldn’t!!

Almost forgot to credit Watson as I’ve been highly critical in the past. Three great saves, he’s made similar before but been punished as he’s parried the ball into the middle of the penalty area. Good to see he’s learning – a massive “WELL DONE” Rory.

    Agree with BRI 100%.
Regarding the post match detail provided by MM this is welcome information and what we should be told. The only issue I have is Eisa, if he’s not going to start in a home game against an average side we should be looking to beat then when will he play? As for Cox’s opinion –
“I’m not sure he was gonna get much of the ball. He needs to go out wide & run at people.”
Has he told our players not to pass to him in case he scores? Bizarre!!

#gtfc chairman Philip Day reveals to @AndyComfort
    @RadioHumberside
that their next THREE games are off following youth player Jock Curran testing positive for COVID-19.

I thought the agreed protocol was that infected players weren’t identified?

Young player les, he has to be forgiven one bad game IMO. He knows where the net is and has shown he can pull out a ‘worldie’.
But if that bad game was down to a tendency to sulk if things aren’t going his way then Cox/Lillis need to nip that in the bud.

Like BLT’s idea, still leaves impact from the bench with Colclough, Hippolyte, Turan, Green and a couple of defenders in case of emergency. O’Malley in if McG not fit.

He does need time to learn and we have to appreciate that, however signs that he is learning need to be apparent. The glaring error of continuing to play players out of position (except out of necessity) and thus reducing their effectiveness should be the subject of lesson 1.

Don’t forget he’s got to accomodate 4 CBs when Onariase is fit. We’re not overly strong in CM or at FB so it could be a 4-0-6 formation.
    McGahey Cordner Onariase Bedeau
Gillead McAtee Kvv Loft Turan Eisa
Might work? Could be a few 5-5 draws and the odd 6-4 (not 4-6 I hope) and if we score 5 or 6 we wouldn’t need to worry too much about Watson.

Anybody understand what Rick Bonus is on about? He knows something I don’t clearly. Is Prince Andrew the CEO?
