“Cassidy, in this case we have no choice”
I’m not disputing that WG,as you say, it’s our only option. What I’m advocating is being careful in our choice. For instance you suggest:-
“Calum Woods at RB. Woods played 12 games last season in lg 1 with two assists so he must still have something to offer.”
Now I don’t know why he only played 12 games but could he be another Clarke?
That’s the cause of my concern, we’ve a habit of paying players for little return (e.g. Hammill) we can do without any more wage thieves.Do these players ‘still have the legs’?
That is something few of us can know for sure.Quite right les, can we risk another James Perch? (or Ian Ormondroyd for those with a longer memory)
About time we got a freaky result in our favour.
We did mick, against Carlisle.
Probably play him at RB then?
Hope he’s fit enough for early action, should have been done 3 months ago. I presume the manager knows who he is.
That’s a big disappointment to me also WG. He’s done the lot as a player with years of experience but seems to be ineffective as an assistant. Does he fear for his job if he dares to interfere, can he not offer help and advice or is he just being ignored? Is he another with strings attached or a hand up his back?
“Plenty of players out there without a club, no excuse. I wouldn’t mind Conrad Logan, Woods, Junior brown and Wordsworth here.”
WG has highlighted what’s needed, no surprises as it’s been obvious to fans for some time and his suggestions might very well be the best available. Free agents are now our only option until January, my concern is why,at this point in the season, are these players still without a club. We could be looking at the bottom of a very deep barrel.
Look, I’ve been wrong a few times (Mrs CT will say it’s much more than that) but I can’t remember being as spectacularly wrong as I was about our players. In common with most others I had no idea as to the footballing ability of our new signings. What I thought I knew was that we had young footballers keen to forge a career in the game, prove they were up to league standard, even higher than league 2 in some cases. What I have seen is that few of them have that ability and even fewer have the desire. I hope call centre wages are not too far below what they’re earning now, the hours will be longer certainly.
“a forward who can bully a defence.”
We’ve got one but he can’t be a***d!
Don’t worry, somebody will be along in a minute to tell us all the positives we can take from this game.
Arguably the best we can field for that formation, just hope Gillead and Hippolyte are allowed into the opponents half. 6 attacking players gives some hope for positive intent, fingers crossed.

Cox says there are currently no other loan offers for their fringe players including winger Andy Dales, whose name has been circulated to other clubs. #uti #IronThat’ll boost his confidence then.
Santa might have a couple of early presents for Neil. There must be the odd Dom Vose out there somewhere waiting for a chance.
Hope you’re right about Trump, do you think he might consider buying PS out when he loses? We’re unlikely to make any profit so he won’t have to worry about paying tax which should appeal to him.
The team are playing as if it’s Wilcox.
More input than some think he gets now?
Here’s an idea for Neil in case he’s reading Bru.
Watson
Rowe Onariase Cordner/Bedeau Vincent
Gillead Taylor Spence Eisa
McAtee ANOther
Can’t pick a partner for McAtee as several have shown flashes of talent but little consistency. I think it’s reasonable to allow the manager some input anyway.….but Cass doesn’t that bring us back around to the same old point, Swann believes he is correct doing it his way, he thinks it will eventually come right doing it his way. It’s a bit like telling Trump not to wear make-up because it makes him look as big a twat as he sounds, these egotistical people just don’t get it because their way is the only way. It’s sad but true, we are shafted.
The difference is that, despite being as you describe, Trump’s ego and tactics won an election, our tactics (whoever is to blame) are winning b….. all!
Looks like new tactics, look at this!!!!!
“Dales strides down the left and cuts back into the box where three Iron men are waiting”Three!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I completely understand the frustration with current affairs and, in particular, with the chairman. However there is one thing that I don’t understand at all.
Money comes into the club via supporters attending matches (or via ifollow at the moment) so how can it be in the chairmans interest to lose supporters by playing dire football and taking the club out of the league?See “Salford sack GA” thread from 6 hours ago including:-

He’d get in before Hornshaw at RB, that’s about it IMO.
I put away my optimists hat a few weeks ago, how have you managed to get hold of it?
October 12, 2020 at 12:15 pm in reply to: The Lineup I’d Like To See. (Or something pretty close.) #195736I think that’s right BRI, there are areas in the team that can be improved from within the squad e.g Eisa for Hypolyte and some that can’t at present e.g. Hornshaw at RB. There’s no one thing that will solve our current issues but some (hopefully) beneficial moves can be made.
“Thing is the squad is awash with midfielders.”
As I said on another thread we seem to have gone for quantity over quality. How many of the MFs could we comfortably class as good enough and how many could we lose without noticing. Plenty to choose from but no CM partnership that I’m happy with at present. More wide players than we can possibly use but at least we have quality there.
Some aren’t helping each other MM and yes they do exploit this weakness – a Jim Goodwin would be a massive help to these lads.
As manager do you mean?

“Fingers crossed Olomola get’s his fitness up”
“I suppose if he played Olomola and Jarvis/Loft”
I’ve quoted what you’ve written, as I’ve said I’m trying to manage your expectations.October 10, 2020 at 8:36 pm in reply to: The Lineup I’d Like To See. (Or something pretty close.) #195660“Fingers crossed Olomola get’s his fitness up”

“stick Olomola upfront”
“We really do need Clarke, Mcgahey and Olomola back though before long.”Look, I’m trying to manage your expectations here. A fit Olomola will not save our season, I wish it were that simple.
I agree with Mike and Tom – this was a very good FG side. We aren’t equipped to deal with such ability and organisation in Division 4.
I’m rather hoping that we take plenty of points off the other weaker sides. Is it a coincidence that almost every team we play look like top 3 material. Where have you spotted these other weaker sides les. Crawley were probably the worst team we’ve played so far, are there any weaker than them? Hard to see where our next win (or point) is coming from.
