The person who threw the beer was enjoying the game and behaving himself throughout. The goalkeeper came behind the net to gather the ball, and in that moment, the fan threw beer all over him. There was no bad behavior before or after the incident. I did notice that the fan appeared to be handcuffed by our police officers as he was escorted out of the ground—assuming it’s the same incident, but who knows?

The Brackley goalkeeper just got on with it, though he had every right to kick up a fuss and report it to the stewards, referee, police, etc. He deserves a lot of credit for simply continuing with the game. No player or official should have to put up with that under any circumstances.

I’d be interested to know the outcome or repercussions for the individual involved, as well as other people’s views on the matter. It was literally one split second of stupidity from someone who appeared to be having a great day and behaving well, just like the majority of the fans in the ground. It’s such a shame that the club may have to pay the price for this, especially since there really wasn’t anything they could have done to prevent it.

Ogle has 1 but neither 2 or 3 (Denton is the same).

    Totally agree.

He always appeared to give 100%, worked hard, and was good defensively. His pace also allowed us to create quick bursts forward and get on the front foot, although in hindsight, the delivery/end result often lacked what his endeavor deserved.

Initially, I was gutted to hear that he’s moved on. However, on reflection, although I would have been delighted if he’d stayed, it’s not the end of the world.

I wish him all the best and thank him for his time at SUFC.

It’s a sad indictment that you feel walking worthy of a medal ,how unusual for you to still bear grudges , my comment was on topic ironically your’s wasn’t ,oddball

Ah, maneuvering through that minefield of misplaced commas and spaces is quite the adventure, isn’t it? It appears we’re both oddballs in our own unique ways. Here’s to keeping the sarcasm flowing and the oddities of life in check! And thank you for the delightful resort to name-calling—what a charming addition to our banter!

Can somebody provide any more information or links to more information?

I’ve seen nothing about share sales on here, the OWS or twitter. Would be happy to purchase or register interest, but very difficult to do that seeing as though I can find no information about it anywhere.

It may or may not have been obvious that the writing has indeed been on the wall for sometime. Hope and optimism are terrible things as they give you something to cling to. Still, cling to them I will.

If we really are on the precipice, if SUFC really are about to disappear, or phoenix to re-appear albeit in another guise, if we really do only have one or maybe two more games left at Glanford Park, isn’t it worth all of us who can be there, being there?

Hostile -Yes; Bottle throwing – No, Trouble, No – just pack out the Donny Road End and and let’s go out with some style and class.

We’ve got a second chance to give Buxton a huge mauling on their first, nope, second big day out, many sides won’t get the privilege of their first big day out at at Glanford Park, let’s make it a day to remember.

    Iron 4 – 0 Buxton

Jimmy will be wallowing in the glory of bringing Butterfield on after an hour to win the game.

    Tactical genius don’t you know!

He may or may not be wallowing in his glory, he may or may not be a tactical genius, but, his substitutions did change the game and won us 3 points.
