Accusing Phil Sanderson of trying to make money out of the club. Was SWANN having a laugh.SWANN thought he had it all worked out with building his flats and houses to make money for him and his family by land -grabbing and taking our club’s assets and stadium.

The point is uptheiron99 where our Club is now is SWANNS doing and his alone. If he stays we will drop further down the leagues and season ticket holders renewing won’t make a blind bit of difference whilst he still owns the club and assets. At the forum the fans director said he had spoken to SWANN about a week ago and he said he will consider changing the name of the stadium back to Glanford Park, which means he most probly won’t. The fans director also said at some point SWANB will give back the stadium and assets to the club. He means he will try to sell it for an inflated and ridiculous amount to new owners. That is not GIVING it back, that is SELLING it. We learned nothing at the forum that we didn’t already know. A complete waste of time attending.

Hill comes out and says he needs to change the mentality at the club. I think he needs to change his own mentality regarding players after the way he has treated Oliver Lobley. This was no way to treat a youth player or any player come to that. The lad plays his debut is subbed early in the match and then released. If I were Tony Daws or his parents I would be devastated and fuming as the lad must feel. If this is how he treats players this is another reason why Hill should be gone.

Totally agree with what you have said Peter Promise. So according to Hill the dire situation our Club is in now is 100% not his fault, is 100% not Chris Swanns fault and is 100% not Peter Swanns fault. Is he having a laugh at us supporters expense. Chris Swann scouted the players, Peter Swann signed the players and Hill signed several of his own players in January. Season after season we have let our better players go and the recruitment has been abysmal. Hill and all the Swanns need to be gone and quick and get new owner/owners in who will show loyalty and dedication to our Club. OH AND GIVE US OUR LAND AND STADIUM BACK WHERE IT BELONGS, AND NOT TRY TO SELL IT AT AN EXHORBITANT RIDICULOUS PRICE THAT NO-ONE WILL WANT TO BUY INTO.

It’s Hill’s fault and his alone. He chose to play all these youngsters, making it a total bad experience for them and sapping their confidence before their career has kicked off. Also a total disrespect to fans and to the other league clubs battling for promotion. He should be gone by Monday morning.

The problem is if Swann is asking an exorbitant and ridiculous fee for the club, ground and assets, so that he can re-coup the money which he has spent, we are in big, big trouble as new owners will not buy into it. At the forum the panel said Swann has already turned down two offers, and I do not believe that Swann will reveal his asking price to the supporters. In my opinion the forum was a total waste of time attending as non of the panel could give definite answers. Surely there must be some legislation in there whereby Swann could be forced to ask a reasonable figure for the club, ground and assets and not a ridiculous figure which could force our Club into liquidation or administration. Leanne Mayo stated that the Club has to be self-sustainable at whatever level. Where have we heard that one before, Swann. Its obvious who is pulling her strings.
After attending the forum I don’t feel any the wiser as to the future of our Club and feel it was just a PR exercise with questions unanswered. When statements were made such as, Peter has put a lot of money into the club, he is giving the ground back, then it seemed a waste of time attending. It’s all empty words. The fans director said Swann has turned down two offers. If he asks a ridiculous amount for the club no-one will buy into it and he must know that. I don’t believe he is giving the ground back, I believe he is trying to sell it via new owners and so can re-coup his money. He has made SUFC a total mess.

I agree with barriethomas Tony Gosling did a very good job in the chair. Let’s face it even if Swann or one of his family directors had attended the forum supporters would have been non the wiser as to the future of our Club as anything he says never happens, in fact the exact opposite. The impression I have is that non of the panel know any more than we supporters. As for the Chief Executive, League Mayo I believe she is just there for the finances on behalf of the Swanns and shows no empathy whatsoever for the club or supporters. A friend of the Swannx.
Two policemen came over to the main stand with a young lad hand-cuffed and then proceeded to take him to the exit gates, un-cuff him, put him outside, shut the gates and the police came back in. What followed was truly unacceptable. A heavily-built steward came rushing past us and was shouting and swearing in front of a very young child then opened the gates and went out after the young lad. A woman who was standing with a group outside said the steward had both his hands round the young lads neck, who was going blue in the face, and she had to intervene to stop him, also he was banged against a silver car which was parked in the first bay, which was subsequently damaged. The steward in my opinion was looking for trouble and had no reason whatsoever to follow the lad as the police had dealt with the situation. Absolutely disgraceful.
Nuttall and Pyke are the worst two strikers who have worn an Iron shirt. But then they can’t be called strikers! Who brought them in KEITH HILL!

Yes but how can Hill be sure that he will be here next season as manager. What about the new owners or is that just another lie and that Lee Turnbull has just been brought in to take the flak for the coward SWANNS!
Nuttall is not fit to wear the Scunthorpe United Shirt and never should again in my opinion! The example he set yesterday to our hard-working younger players was disgusting. He took his shirt off as he was walking into the tunnel and that should be the last time he wears it. Hill brought him here and its Hill who should sort it out. Even if the player apologises now is that enough as he still continued his disgusting reaction after the match when our players came out again for our fans.

Maybe the new owners will be there! ha ha ha.
April 25, 2022 at 11:50 pm in reply to: Keith – ‘some didn’t want to play today fearing injury’ #236407I can’t believe a manager would come out and say that some of his players didn’t want to play because of fearing injury at the end of the season.its the same old saying “its a poor manager who blames his tools”. The recent performances have been worse than under Neil Cox and in my opinion Hill who has been Swanns tool should be gone as well as the Swanns.

In my opinion non of the Swann family have shown any regret for what they have done to our beloved Football League Club, Scunthorpe United. I would say shambolic and disgusting mismanagement by them is the view of the majority of our supporters.

I can’t imagine Swann doing what he should and what he promised that our Club would be in a better position when he left than when he took over by giving the ground and assets back. The concern also is will Karin Swann, who apparently holds the purse strings, allow Swann to do what he absolutely should and give back what he took in recompense for his vast ridiculous overspending and bad decision making.

Yes cmon let’s make it a good crowd for the last home game at GLANFORD PARK. I do hope that if and when we get the new owner/owners in we get rid of the stupid SVS name, it sounds ridiculous, in fact just as ridiculous as the disgusting SWANNS.
I’ve just checked companies house but can’t see where Swann has resigned from Coolsilk. It says active. Where did you find that Brassy sharman.
I’m reserving my judgment until I see Swann selling the club and returning the ground and assets to Scunthorpe United f.c. which is where it belongs, not in the ownership of Coolsilk. Who is Coolsilk, pure and simply Swann and his wife. Apparently his wife is the one holding the purse strings and can anyone imagine her wanting to give the ground and assets back and walk away. The Swanns are still directors and in my opinion at present I believe Lee Turnbull has been brought in to be the frontman taking the flak for Swann who won’t want to be in the firing line. Let’s be honest when does he care to accept responsibility for what our Club has become. Who is paying LTs wages? Whose decision was it to bring him in. Its still smoke and mirrors. Where is the consortium/buyer? As I said at the beginning once we have a buyer and our ground back I will then make a judgment as at this present time nothing has changed. We will purchase our season tickets when this happens, not on just words, which could be true or false.
You’re right about that apb. Swann is utterly spineless along with his other couldn’t care less family. What a liar. They will never be allowed anywhere near another football club. This must have tarnished his business reputation too I would imagine that is if he ever did have a decent reputation in the first place. Wasn’t it his wife who had all the money.

I feel very proud and privileged to have worked at our Scunthorpe United for over ten years and felt and witnessed the success we had with promotions, crowds of 5000 plus and several Wembley appearances. The club was then run as one from the very top to the very bottom. From the Chairman down to the programme sellers and everyone in between. This is what breeds success. We also had a good affiliation within the community and fans were considered an essential part of the club. I saw both sides being an ardent supporter and also an employee. The Swanns came in and most of the existing staff either left or were made redundant, people who had been loyal to the club over many years. I was lucky as had already retired so didn’t have to work under the Swanns and witness in the last few years the demolition of our Club. It now seems the Swanns are walking away but I will believe it when new owner/owners take over. SWANNS WORDS “THE CLUB WILL BE IN A BETTER POSITION WHEN I LEAVE THAN WHEN I TOOK OVER”. We shall see. How many of us supporters believe this?

A brilliant video Pat’OCake thank you very much for this. We have mixed emotions watching this and we shall watch it again. We feel great pride in Scunthorpe United watching this, great memories, and feel so lucky to have experienced these great times. We also feel great anger and disbelief at where one man and his family have taken us. They should never be allowed near any football club ever again. They tried to run it as a business and failed abysmally so you ask yourself should he ever be allowed to run any business again. Swann is not fit to even wipe the soles of Steve Whartons shoes, and the same goes for Hill in comparison to Brian Laws. Brian was at Scunthorpe for ten years and over that time his management skills vastly improved to gain success for our Club. I have lots of sympathy for our younger supporters who have only been fans whilst the disgraceful Swanns have been here and have not witnessed the fabulous successful years. We are lucky we have been supporters for the last sixty odd years through the good and bad times. But these last years under the Swanns have wrecked our Club and their name will always leave a disgusting taste in our mouths for where they have taken our beloved Scunthorpe United.

I remember going to the first forum in the exec lounge. We were met by a life-size cardboard cutout of Swann. Unbelievable and that made me feel sick too. Please remove the photo from this site of his fat ugly sickly smile, I knew it was false at that first forum, him with all his big pie in the sky ideas. This has been how a league football club should not be run!!!!!
Yes I do rate Delaney. I definitely don’t rate playing Gallimore as a centre back nor Rowe. I think Gallimore is more of a centre midfield youngster and may be good enough for the future. Yes Rowe gives
100% every match but we need a more physical and bigger centreback to play alongside Delaney. I’m not sure that George Taft is good enough, maybe only for the subs bench. I would have Thomson and Rowe as fullbacks. I also think we need a bigger more physically stronger keeper too. Yes Rory Watson has improved but I don’t feel he commands his box well enough and is too easily pushed away be attackers when the ball is coming into our box particularly from corners. But I know it’s all about opinions and some of you may disagree.Totally agree ironking, whoever thought up the tennis ball incident I say very well done. The stewards were that busy picking up tennis balls they forgot about the fans which enabled the pitch demonstration. WELL DONE LADS!!!!!!

Your right mistertonmick regarding playing an under 21 team in the National League. Hill says he is developing the youth but bringing so many on yesterday as substitutes in my opinion he could be ruining their future in football. You can see some are not strong enough yet to compete in league football. Hill said yesterday he had a good relationship with the SWANNS, another yes man who has done exacty what SWANN wanted. Hill never tried to win the last several home games, he was more obsessed with playing Cribb, a first year scholar znd left more experienced players on the bench. If Hill had anything about him he wouldn’t have let Hyppolyte go, that was a great surprise to me. Let’s face it Hill’s signings have been terrible. For me Delaney is the only decent player we have and I can’t see him being here next season.

Yes there has been some improvement with Rory this season but for me he doesn’t control his goal line and box. He is too lightweight and easily held out the way when corners are coming in. If the opposition have four or five big physical players around him he is easily pushed away from the ball coming in. I think you won’t see any improvement with him as he is just not big and physically strong enough to compete.
The problem is though lesgeo how many youngsters will have to be played next season to field a team. Without investment in experienced players, not the ones Hill has just brought in may I add, we will not succeed in the National League. I agree you cannot field more than a couple of youngsters at one time and they will gain the experience from playing alongside the older experienced players. Until we see a new owner coming in we cannot say what the future holds for our Club. Half decent experienced players will not come to Scunthorpe for peanuts so we need investment from new owners.

Well uptheiron99 let’s hope he sells it very quickly in fact ASAP immediately and then we can buy our season tickets along with the rest of the returning supporters. It must be truly dreadful to be hated as much as the SWANNS are for what they have done to our Club Scunthorpe United FC.

Supporters were impressed around us and saying well done!!!! It was harmless and peaceful and good to see the police not overreacting like the bullish stewards at the previous match with the handcuffs.
