Butterfield looks much better as an attacking midfielder and has a good shot. He impresses me when going forward. So why does Daws keep playing him defensive just in front of the back four or five players. In the first half it was as if we were playing six at the back. I don’t blame Beestin as he was on his own in the middle. Surely it’s Daws who should take the blame for the first half display, Butterfield was playing where told to. Its as if Daws is too afraid to go out and attack until we go behind.
What is needed is a properly organised demonstration which will attract the media, not just the local media, to name and shame the Swanns and show all the footballing community what the Swanns have done to our club and the consequences of it. Imagine if this were happening to Hull City there would have been plenty of demonstrations well before now.

Who thinks Swann is a coward? He resigns as Chairman, but that’s made no difference to the disastrous situation to which he has taken our Scunthorpe United. He puts Lee Turbull in there as Chief Operating Officer, in name only, and allows a fans director on the board, Neil Wright, who has no say or knowledge whatsoever as to what the present situation is or what Swanns future intentions are. So Swann disappears, the invisible man, and leaves everyone else to take the flak.

Don’t put words in my mouth Awaywego. I said “I do not put any faith or trust in anyone at our Club at present”. I have both in myself to know when we supporters are not being told the truth and just fed bits of information when it suits. People are judged by actions and not just words, particularly in the case of our EX chairman.

I do not put any faith or trust in anyone at our Club at present. Words are cheap which we have heard many of and which non have turned out to be true. It is actions and direct information which we supporters need and deserve. Many fans have purchased season tickets, car parking and paying via the turnstiles to support our team, what have we received in return over the last season and this present season, just lies and fed tiny bits of information to keep us on board. We the supporters deserve more respect but we won’t get any from the present regime.

This is why swann has put himself in the background so he doesn’t have to do anything, no interviews even unless he chooses in my opinion, so no news whatsoever is being relayed to our supporters, many of whom have purchased season tickets and football kits etc.If Swann doesn’t let go of our club I feel as a future football club we are doomed. He has zero interest in our Club in my opinion. Otherwise why would Hill still be here when other managers who have performed much better have been sacked.

The time is now for Hill and McMann to take responsibility for this utter shambles of a record of defeats. Both should be gone tonight never mind waiting for tomorrow. Just istened to McMann’s after match interview. Same as Hill never take any responsibility. Hill set up for a point today and never changed it even after Bromley went down to ten me. He has no idea how to change things and is tactically inept, and his substitutions are ridiculous. It’s as if he is scared we will win. No wonder our players don’t know what the are doing because we have a manager who totally doesn’t know what HD himself is doing.

It’s not the players with recurring injuries that are the problem. It’s the people who sign them to our Club and then like Hallam give him a further two year deal when he has only managed to play a handful of games, coming on mainly just as a substitute, whilst he has been with our Club. Also why sign Nthle with his injury record when our finances are virtually nil and we are desperate for a consistent left-back. We can’t blame the players It’s our useless manager and useless previous Chairman and recruitment staff.

You’re right Wondergoals but don’t expect an honest answer. When have you known Swann to be honest ever! I believe its all been a smokescreen to get fans to spend their well-earned money. If this is what has been done it is absolutely despicable. I wonder if he is waiting and hoping for the football club to fail so that he can sell the land for his wife’s company. Only time will tell but things are looking pretty desperate.
It becomes more obvious each game that Hill is clueless. He takes off two experienced midfielders Butterfield and Beestin and leaves Gallimore on, who looks out of his depth to me. At times he looked lost and you can see he still has a lot to learn. He should have been the first midfielder to be subbed. Beeston just prior to being subbed was getting into the attack and playing some neat football but after he was subbed the attacking play had gone. It should be Hill who gets gone with Swann!!!!

You’re absolutely right Sharp Shooter. The man doesn’t know the meaning of the word truth. Now he has disappeared and put Lee Turnbull in charge and put the fans director on the board. Swann is their boss dont’forget and they answer to him. It’s all a smokescreen AGAIN!!!!!!

I fully understand what you are saying RoamingBull. It was so frustrating to give a three goal lead away which should never happen and we supporters left feeling shell-shocked and so very angry. I agree it is not fish and chips vans, ice-cream sellers, singers or face-painting or marquees which are needed at this time it is results on the field, that is what will keep and bring back football supporters. Let’s remember this is the lowest point in time for our club over the last seventy odd years and let’s not forget whose solely to blame for this. I also find it totally wrong that the Iron Trust has been asked by Lee Turnbull if it would help fund the marquee, but this would have to go to a member vote anyway even if the Trust Board agreed to do that. Members are playing their part by paying through the turnstiles and by supporting the Iron bar buying drinks.

I like to judge people on their actions Awaywego and up to know all the choices which Scunthorpe United have had in the past have been taken away by the Swanns reckless and irresponsible behaviour in my opinion. I hope Neil is a genuine fan and wants the best for Scunthorpe United and supporters. Time will tell and its too early to say yet. Look how many supporters believed in Swann when he became Chairman and look how many believe in him now.

Time and ACTIONS or INACTION will tell Awaywego regarding the outcome of this supposed takeover of our Scunthorpe United FC. Words are cheap and regarding SWANN and CO very rarely if ever true. You seem to profess to know more than other fans on here.

Who will chair the board meeting I wonder. Will it be the invisible man. It seems strange too that as soon as Swann resigns as Chairman we have a supposedly fans director on the board. I don’t trust any of them now.

Looking at Swanns track record it could be never. It’s always been smoke and mirrors since the Swanns arrival and it’s still smoke and mirrors now. Why would any supporters believe a word Swann has to say.

Swann needs to go ASAP but we the fans have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Apparently the new fans director Neil Wright was supposed to be having an update last week with Swann, but then again nothing. Are they taking us supporters for a ride and making fools of us. Has this talk of a takeover been implemented to encourage season ticket and kit sales, etc. Its certainly gone very quiet regarding the new prospective owners. It feels as if we are a rudderless ship with no-one at the helm. We have a manager who doesn’t appear to know what he is doing znd changed the formation 4 times last night in the first half of the match. If Hill doesnt know what needs to be done on the pitch how on earth are HIS team to know. SWANN AND HILL NEED TO BE GONE.

We need the new owners in ASAP to steer us and bring stability. It feels as if we have no-one at the helm with the dis-interested Swanns waiting in the wings to see if we can be wound up. This is my opinion.

The Radio Humberside reporter last night said that Hill changed his formation four times in the first half. If Hill doesnt know what he is doing how on earth can we expect our players to know. The phrase “YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING” springs to mind. His job is surely on the line after that display.

If there is any truth in that Swann will need the money from the sale of SUFC to pay for his hotel build then wouldn’t it actually be Scunthorpe United paying towards his hotel as h it is him who spent our club’s money anyway????
Hi Richgy You deserve to be in the play-off final. Really enjoyed the match yesterday. You’ve got two of our ex-players, Mcatee and Luke Waterfall. Two of your best players and I knew Mcatee definitely could score goals and was a good player, but who knows what went on behind the scenes here at Scunthorpe and I’ve felt whilst Swann has been our Chairman we haven’t valued and taken care of our players well enough. I was gutted when Waterfall left us too, could see he was a good player. Swann has dessimated our Club and sacked Hurst for simply speaking out. I wish you all the best in the final even though I would have looked forward to playing you next season!!!

I think Lee Turnbull is here just as a PR exercise as Swann knows how much he is hated znd doesnt want to show his face and thats why he stopped attending matches. He cant take any criticism whatsoever and this has shown at the supporter forums, as if anything is said that he doesnt like he gets agitated quickly. Nothing at all has changed or will until we get a new owner/owners. A coffee morning with Lee Turnbull will change nothing. In my opinion he is just a puppet.

If I remember correctly Swann sacked Hurst after comments Hurst made on the radio regarding NOT BEING GIVEN WHAT WAS PROMISED. But we had just won a couple of matches and begun playing better and it looked like we had turned the corner. We felt angry about the decision to sack him. When I say “NOT BEING GIVEN WHAT WAS PROMISED”, that is what has happened throughout the tenure of the Swanns regarding our Scunthorpe United FC.

Swann says he resigned being chairman to give him more time to find a buyer/buyers. According to him he has turned down two offers for our club, but no-one knows only himself what the figure is he is even asking, never mind what the offers were. Typical Swann don’t tell the fans anything and many fans are not convinced that he is even serious about selling up. All we can be sure of is that he has disappeared now that he has taken us out of the football league. He has put Lee Turnbull in the front line and that is another wage to come out of club monies instead of Swann manning up and sorting out his own utter mess, and selling up now. If he sells sooner rather than later, preferably during the close season, we have more chance of saving our Club as many more fans will return once we have seen the back of the Swanns.

No you’re right iron-awe. A great many supporters believed and trusted Swann when he took over our club, as did Steve Wharton. There is no way he would have sold to the Swanns if he had known that they are not fit to run a football club. Apparently the Swanns first intended to take over Lincoln City. What a lucky, lucky escape they had! Yes originally it was the boxing promoter from Jersey who was going to buy the club lock stock and barrel, then Swann appeared from nowhere. He says he is trying to sell the club but the difference now is we don’t own our stadium and assets, his company do.

Sorry Iron-awe I meant to say the most hated family by the Scunthorpe United fans. Yes he does reside in Retford.
Swann took over our Club when Steve Wharton sold it due to ill-health. We had a good boardroom until then with Steve Wharton, Chairman, who attended all matches both home and away, and his ❤️ heart was in Scunthorpe United as his father before him at the Old Showground. Rex Garton, Director, and club solicitor too, who came into GP restaurant daily and paid for his lunch, was totally committed and he also attended home and away matches. Brian Borrill, Keith Wagstaff, Jason Oxenforth were all Directors who were committed, loved the football and attended matches. This all changed to the detriment of SUFC when the swanns took over and the then current directors were not wanted on the board. Where we are now, out of the football league, without any sense of direction and with owners who couldn’t care less if we no longer have a Scunthorpe United FC is down to one man and his family ALONE and no other party. SHAME ON YOU THE SWANNS !!!!!!!!

We as season ticket holders have been supporting our team all season and look where that has taken us. We have supported our club for the last 65 years. Then a fly-by-night family come in, SWANN & Co. and take us out of the football league. Particularly over the last two seasons they have dessimated our playing squad and taken our stadium and assets and he couldn’t even be bothered to attend matches. Absolutely disgusting, devastating diabolical, words cannot express the contempt which fans now have for the SWANNS!

What must it feel like to be the most hated family in Scunthorpe? Ask the SWANNS.
