We have supported our Club for over sixty years. Also I had the privilege of working there for over 10 years, under Steve Wharton and Don Rowing, so know how well- run out Club was. Everyone pulling in the same direction and the utmost respect given to staff and our supporters valued.
We all loved our work and our Club was very well run from top to bottom. These years were so successful both on and off the pitch. Respect for one another helps breed success.
I have been fortunate to not have worked under Swann or Hilton and the present situation our Club finds itself in, due to these two owners, who in my opinion have proved themselves to be as bad as one another, is purely down to these two.
I find it difficult to describe how I feel right now, a mixture of anger, sadness, despair and desperation.
But still hope that a new owner or consortium of local businessmen may come forward to help our plight, together with our Iron Trust and the local council and North Lincolnshire Council.

If the message is from him that was put out regarding our Club and supporters he definitely won’t do for me and many others.

It’s a great idea. Lincoln City fans saved their Club and I didn’t knoow that Exeter fans own their club.
Of course though Lincoln and Exeter are cities and I guess they have a bigger intake of supporters.
We need the Councils, both local and North Lincolnshire, on board with local businesses, to help the Iron Trust and supporters to save our Club.

We have just watched the article on Calendar regarding our beloved SUFC and are highly delighted that Tony Gosling, Chairman of our Iron Trust, has come on the programme in support of Matt Ellis of Iron Bru and Dave and another fan who have all received banning orders from Hilton. It’s good that lots more fans are now joining The Trust and showing support. It also reported that the FA are now investigating Hilton and that’s not before time.
His past and present behaviour proves he is not a suitable person to own a football club in my opinion and I hope this is sorted out quickly and not to the detriment of our
We need the local council and also Rob Waltham of North Lincs. Council on board together with local businesses to support our Iron Trust and our supporters.
Our fans have suffered enough with these two owners and our town needs our football club to survive.

My husband and I have supported Hilton previously but we have opinions as to what he has done to our Club, SUFC, after promising so much and all the u-turns he has made.
We support him no longer as many many other fans, and now the banning orders, due to freedom of speech. This is all so unacceptable. Matt and the others must be feeling so low now as supporters, and in my opinion until Hilton leaves our future as a Club, whatever division we end up in will never be secure.

You’re totally wrong Awaywego. Don’t tar everyone with the same brush, being disrespectful to people who have been brought up on council estates, as was my husband and many fans our friends. I find it unbelievable if you don’t find some of his words disgusting.
Football is not totally different to everything else and does not excuse Hiltons rants.

If that statement turns out to be Hiltons in which he called our fans “spastics” and said he hopes I club dies, this is surely verbal abuse and I could never have imagined any football club owner coming out with that language anywhere. All SUFC supporters must come together if this statement is true and Hilton should be gone.

I feel the time has come now that we don’t want any more statements from Hilton. He should just be gone. All he has done is create division amongst our supporters as he did at Bury.

Just remember WHAM that without supporters there is no Scunthorpe United FC. Over 3500 supporters have been backing you and even singing your name at matches. This is how you repay us for our loyalty towards OUR SUFC!!!!

Totally agree Mk Iron. I’ve been saying the same for weeks that WHAM wants to be away and looking for a way out, and so by antagonising our supporters and getting reactions he feels he will be able to justify him walking away.
Think again Hilton. After your disgraceful actions in banning our loyal fans and the administrators of our fans forum you have only shown not only SUFC supporters but nationwide fans too that in my opinion you are totally unfit to call yourself a club chairman.
The sooner you are gone the better!!!!!

You obviously don’t have respect for women Awaywego and not all men are foul-mouthed, certainly not in our family or any of our many friends. Women have been football supporters for as long as our Club has existed. Four generations of our family. It is the foul-mouted drunks who give their clubs a bad name!!!@

Yes initially Swann is to blame for overspending and transferring SUFC assets to his own company Coolsilk. But now Hilton has refused to honour the agreement to purchasing same assets from Swann so in my opinion I feel he is as much to blame now for our worsening situation.
It dhould be felt an absolute privilege to be the owner of a football club, which is a community asset, but I feel these fly-by-night owners forget the responsibility they are taking charge of and it is not meant to be left as a legacy to ones family but as AN ASSET TO THE COMMUNITY!!!!

We were very grateful to Steve Whaton for the way in which he Chaired our Club, in a very honest, responsible and supportive way. He would never have risked the future of SUFC as both Swann and Hilton have done. We have supported Hilton by initially trusting and believing in what he said and purchasing season tickets, car parking and spending at the food kiosk.
Out trust has been eradicated due to so many u-turns on recent serious events and I fear we have not yet hit rock bottom with Hilton now owning the Club.
Words are cheap, it’s actions that really matter and now after all his promises and big talk nothing is coming to fruition.

The point is Awaywego we supporters didn’t come in promising to take over our club and stadium and agree a deal with Swann. Then trying to get our fans to fund it via the 1899 club. That is what Swann says rang alarm bells with him. It is not us fans saying the money is there to pay but refusing to pay what was agreed and refusing to pay ex staff and players.
My point is that we fans are prepared to support a genuine owner by purchasing season tickets, car parking, etc. even though some fans struggle financially. But now if the agreed deal is not to be done and we have to move to Gainsborough or wherever and may not be abe to attend matches there due to the owner we shall feel extremely cheated. And worst of all we may lose our beloved SUFC.

What we need now is a reply now from Swann regarding these latest posts from Hilton. I definitely don’t trust Hilton whatsoever. Surely Swann won’t want to be known as the past Chairman who destroyed SUFC and broke the hearts of our very loyal supporters.

Yes it sound like WHAMS words. Another statement I believe just to take the blame away from himself for not wanting, willing or having the funds to purchase the stadium and land. Could be wrong but it sounds to me as if he thought he could either gain it for free or at absolute knockdown price. Not way to do business in my opinion.
“Legacy for his children”. What about the hard-earned cash supporters, pensioners alike who have forked out for season tickets and car park etc. and some could hardly have afforded to do that and the fans paying via the turnstiles, some of who struggle to pay but love our Club.
We don’t drive Rolls Royce and expect things for free. We pay our way and expect to.
Our legacy to our children and grandchildren is hopefully still having an SUFC to support!!!!!

Sorry clicked before I had finished. Isn’t it disgusting these fly-by-night developers are allowed to come in and pass the fit and proper persons test by the EFL and then take over clubs and take them to the brink. Is this because they try to take over Club’s who are at their most vulnerable?

If The Iron Trust are to start a fund to go towards saving our Club the monies should be held by The Trust with a contract on the understanding it be solely spent for the aims of just that – saving SUFC.

SUFC is a valuable asset to our community and The Iron Trust were successful in their application to have it listed as so. Therefore the council should be assisting to ensure our Club remains as such.
What other venue in Scunthorpe is there where crowds of over 3500 fans gather regularly to support our Club and thus supporting our town and businesses.
We have to consider our children and grandchildren who attend and will be the future supporters, they need to be able to come together and feel a part of something of community value.
Our Club has kept Scunthorpe on the map and without it what would there be left to celebrate in our town. During the tenure of Steve Wharton we had so much to feel proud of and we were known as a great small Club. Two owners have been allowed to put at risk the continuation of SUFC.
THE COUNCIL, THE IRON TRUST, LOCAL BUSINESS PEOPLE AND ALL OUR FANS NEED TO PULL TOGETHER TO SAVE SUFC IN WHATEVER SHAPE OR FORM WE CAN.
I ask could THE Iron Trust look into fund raising on matchdays.
Lincoln City Was saved with huge help from their supporters. We have proved we have the fan base with recent gates showing massive enthusiasm.
We cannot allow two recent owners to demolish the existence of SUFC. who entered the Football League in 1950, and just sleep-walk into non-
    existence.

NOTHING IS EVER DH’S FAULT. The list is endless.
    Fans buying season tickets.
    Fans buying car park passes.
    The 1899 club.
    The 200 club.
    Ex staff not being paid.
    Ex players not being paid.
Businesses who we owe money too.
    LETS NO FORGET HMRC.
I’m sure there’s many more the list goes on.
Then he decides he won’t pay for anything except our current players, who must be worrying now that they will be next on he list.
Now he says he won’t be making any more statements, even though he is the owner of our Club.
I have been of the opinion for some time now that he has been looking for a way to squirm himself out of our Club and blame everyone but himself, the same as he blamed the fans of Bury FC for the situation there in which he was involved. He managed to split the fan base there too the same as he has done at our Club.
He thinks he has the right to refuse to pay people for their services to our Club!!!! NO MORALS WHATSOEVER in my opinion.

All along I’ve been asking why did Hilton come to our Club. Did he think Swann would be bullied into letting him have the stadium and land at a knock down price. I’ve said all along it was very strange how Hilton came in at the very last minute with a bid, which now seems ficticious, and no-one had even heard of Hilton before that. What a con.
I can’t imagine Hilton even being prepared to go to the next court case and be willing to pay costs, he probably doesn’t even have the money to pay his legal team.

You can call this an agenda as much as you like but these people/businesses are obviously owed money by us and should be paid. If it were me that I was owed the money to for goods or services I would need and want to be paid as I am sure you would iron-awe. The problem is it appears to me and in my opinion that DH doesn’t have the money or the will to pay what the club owes which is now owned by him. If he had the money to pay Swann for the stadium and land which is what he told Swann he would do we,SUFC, would not be in the mess we are in now. Simon and Ian were at the least very honest and said they did not have the funds to purchase our Club together with the stadium and land. This is where being dishonest gets you!!!!!

As I saw it yesterday JD made the mistake of taking off Wilson who was getting behind their defence and running them ragged and creating danger and chances and taking off Whitehall too. After the substitutions we gad no threat of attack, as if he was trying to just run the game down. A pathetic thing to do if that was his idea against a very poor side.

In my opinion if DH puts more effort into the daily running of our football club and less emphasis on fighting Swann as reported in the National League Newspaper our Club would be in a much better position than it is right now.
Having worked at the club several years ago for over ten years and seen how it was run over that period of time, there appears to be no leadership whatsoever now. The catering points each had a senior in every one guiding and instructing the many young staff and a person in charge going round filling each point throughout the first half of the match. There was always plenty of food and the quality was good including excellent pasties and even Lincolnshire sausage baps. At the end of the matches any pies and pasties re.aining were sold off very cheaply to fans in the bars and exec lounge. There was hardly any waste. The problem I feel is that staffing has been cut to the bare minimum so please DH don’t blame the youngsters in the catering points they need guidance not ridicule.

How long has this Patrick0811 been a member on irnbru, since March this year. I guess he knew Hilton was going to take over our Club name. Who is he related too? Fair questions I think. Seems he doesn’t think questions should be asked or opinions had. Up to know Hilton hasn’t proved himself in my opinion as to what his primary interests are with our Club. If he really wanted success for our club, surely he like any owner whose heart was in the club, would not be squatting in our stadium and refusing to pay what he has previously agreed on so we do not lose our home. He has done so many uturns and all this uncertainty is not good for the footballing side and in my opinion will not create success.
