You’re the person being nieve uti99 if you think that any revenue coming in to the Club will be spent on players and making the ground reasonable again. In my opinion SWANN wouldn’t spend a penny investing in our football club, it would be spent to his benefit alone as he has no interest whatsoever in Scunthorpe United FC.

SWANN has wrecked our Club, in my opinion there is no doubt about that. We can’t allow him to use Hill as a scapegoat though for the position he has led our Club to. It was obvious yesterday v Oldham that the players Hill has brought in are now where near match fit and when they are it will probably be too late to gain the wins we need to stay in the league. The players available to Hill in the window were probably struggling to find clubs. To sign players who were match fit and ready to go SWANN needed to have paid off the EFL loan to try and keep us in the league but as many times before he backtracked on his statement and would not pay off the loan. SWANN IS TOTALLY TO BLAME FOR OUR CLUBS SITUATION!!!!!

SWANN isn’t fit to wipe the shoes of Strve Wharton. Yes not dveryone agreed with Whartons decisions, but this guy isn’t fit to be anywhere near a football club. Was speaking to a Gainsborough Trinity fan last week who said he was a terrible guy and most of their fans were glad to see the back of him.

The first half yesterday we matched Oldham, not much in it. But the way Oldham came out in the second half and for a good 20 or 30 minutes totally outplayed us, I just couldn’t believe was happening. We couldn’t get any possession or even get out of our own half. If they had a decent striker they would have scored 2 or 3 more goals. I feel their manager got his tactics totally right on the day. They played with the wind in the first half and were putting more balls in the air but second half to be fair to them played some decent football and looked miles better than us. I couldn’t understand Hills comment on Burns nearing burn-out and don’t believe it. The one player who I thought could play off Nuttall and grab some goals. The player who scored 2 in a match. I hope he is playing on Tuesday as yesterday we didn’t look any better regarding getting goals. Nuttall and Pyke don’t look anywhere near match fit and can’t be expected to cover all the pitch.
The main reason the gate was so high yesterday was 1500 away fans. If our home gate was 3,500 every home match you don’t think SWANN would spend that on players do you uti99? The gates this season are the lowest for many seasons and that is down to where SWANN has driven Scunthorpe United and its looking highly likely he is going to drive us down even lower out of the Football League.

Oh! And by the way uti99 your excuses and comments are sounding more feeble and ridiculous every time you post anything now!!!!!

SWANN knows he left it far far too late to get a new manager in and new players. This should have been done at the end of the last season. But no what did he do. He cut the playing budget even further, released our players who were good enough for this division, and kept a manager on who was short of ideas, as a scapegoat for himself and what he had done to our Club. He released Vann Veen, Lund, Gillead, Iesa and McCattee fully knowing that we managed just with the skin of our teeth to not be relegated. These players were far better than any we have now on the books. DONT ANYONE TELL ME THESES WERE THE ACTIONS OF A CHAIRMAN WHO WANTED TO KEEP US IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!!!!!!

Yes apologies siderite I was referring to what awaywego said regarding Don Rowing not to yourself.

The worse times were not under Don Rowing, Siderite. The club had a good structure then and also a good Chairman who knew what he was doing. Everyone who worked for the club went home knowing they had done a good hard day’s work and very often stayed over not on pay but because they loved Scunthorpe United and valued supporters. Don Rowing was a good Chief Executive with a good General Manager David Beeby. The commercial department worked very hard with and in the local community. It’s the old saying that you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone. Fans were much more appreciated and given much better facilities and treatment to how it is now, they were made to feel valued. It was more like a family club. Opening hours were good in the office and the shop compared to now where everything has been cut to the bare bones. Things fans enjoyed have been taken away, being able to buy a programme, a working scoreboard, told you can’t take your own food or drinks into the ground and then catering prices increased at the same time, etc. The supporters have been alienated and without supporters there will be no Club. This is going to take a heck of a lot of rebuilding fans trust and commitment.

The lack of marketing in the wider community is another reason why the connection between fans and the club has been lost. If commercial and marketing staff think that all they have to do is click a computer or mobile phone to get a connection with fans it shows just how bad things really are. Yes use technology to communicate but also get away from this LAZY attitude of thinking that is all that’s needed. In my opinion everything needs a total shake-up of the structure and mentality in which the club is run right from the very top to the bottom. It appears to have started with Simon Elliott coming in and trying to re-connect with the fans, but we need more like him. The attitude of fans don’t matter and its my money in the club has got us where we are now. Let’s just hope these new players that have come in can save our league status which is the only thing that really matters to fans at present, and that SWANN hasn’t left it far too late. GOOD LUCK TO KEITH AND THE PLAYERS FOR SATURDAY!!!!!

Yes the offer of 2 free children with 1 adult is on all the time and this is being taken up I am sure but we need to get into schools and academies and attract the stay away fans back for the remainder of this season to support the team and try and keep us in the league. Surely the opportunity was there to make the match tickets for a fiver for Saturdays match.I just feel that the marketing and commercial staff are not coming forward with any fresh ideas and advertising the club.

Just tweets don’t cut it awaywego. Not all football fans rely on technlogy. The Marketing and commercial departments need to come up with better ideas to attract fans and get off their backsides and get out in the community and get some advertising done via the radio, schools, pubs and clubs, etc. What’s wrong with putting posters out, don’t just rely on technology. I know when David Beeby was at the club he was often on the radio advertising matches and upcoming offers etc. Wharton expected this.

This offer of buy the next six or so games now up front and get the seventh free is simply not good enough. For one thing many supporters cannot afford to pay the upfront cost and also many will want to see an improvement on the pitch before committing to the remainder of home matches. As I see it PR is dead at the club and this has also alienated supporters and made them feel not valued. I guess this is why Simon Elliott has been brought in to try and rebuild the association of supporters with our Club and proves that SWANN AND HIS FAMILY are uncapable of doing this.
Let’s all get down to GLANFORD PARK on Saturday and support Hill and the team. We can be the 12th man if we get a decent crowd. I know quite a number of fans who have stopped going because of SWANN and want him znd his family gone but just forget about SWANN and help fight for Scunthorpe United’s Football League status.

I do hope you’re right lesgeo regarding paying up contracts etc. The ball is in your court SWANN. Keith Hill has done his job identifying players he wants brought in to try and make a fight out of staying in the league. Now where for you to hide now SWANN!!!@@

Does anyone know how much the EFL loan is? C’mon SWANN as you said “IF NECESSARY.” It sure looks like it is NECESSARY.
You’re absolutely right BarnardFoxtonBarker. If it’s right what Matt Dean has said why have we signed three midfielders and no striker apart from Burns on loan. And we desperately need a centre-back. Just doesn’t make sense. Let’s hope other clubs want two of our players.

Just heard Matt Dean on Radio. He said we’re hoping to sign Nuttall but can’t sign anyone until someone leaves. This is where SWANN has taken us. Depths of despair. I bet Keith Hill is tearing his hair out.

No! People are upset because of what SWANN has done to Scunthorpe United Football Club, members of the Football League for over 70 years. Then new boy SWANN comes in and look where we are now, barring a miracle ready to drop out of the football league. Its not about pieces of paper, but supporters are entitled to know exactly what SWANN has done and is doing with our Club, after all he is always harping on about fans money through the turnstiles.

We’re not morons after all Deereyme, as SWANN junior said

I think Hill is doing his job targeting these players who he wants to bring in but of course the stumbling block is SWANN who is making life difficult for Hill and Scunthorpe United. My opinion is that SWANN couldn’t care less if we stay in the football league or not otherwise he would have paid off the loan prior to the January window and then Hill would have had a much bigger choice of players to sign and have got them signed up much earlier. I and am sure many supporters are totally sick of lie after lie after lie!!!!!!
It’s not the current managers fault, it’s not the players fault, it’s not the fans fault, it’s not covid’s fault. Guess whose fault it is SWANN’S!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the holdup with signing Joe Nuttall. SWANN of course. Keith Hill has done his part in the deal.Theres no point in Keith scouting players and being in agreement with the player if swann then scuppers the deal. The dire situation we are in surely it is not the time to be dithering and waiting to see while the very last minute of deadline day to see if we can get the player for peanuts and then missing out because he has got a reasonable deal with another club.
SWANN SAID WE WONT GO OUT THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

I hope to goodness Beeston is not being sold in this January transfer window. He is our best midfielder and the only one prepared to venture forward with aggression and have a shot on goal. We never know what the untrustworthy SWANN is up to behind the scenes.

Hope to goodness we’re not selling Beeston in this January window. He’s by far our best midfielder and the one who is prepared to venture forward and have a shot on goal. We never know what the untrustworthy SWANN is up to behind the scenes. Hoping he’s playing tomorrow v Bristol Rovers.
SWANNS radio statement makes him look a total embarrassment and a fool in my opinion, the same as he is to our Club, A TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT. The man sounded pathetic. His statement when asked at the season ticket holders meeting if he would pay the loan off if it meant keeping us in the football league was “YES IF NECESSARY” not its an option. What is in his head and what he says are totally different things, in fact the complete opposite.
You’re right about the matchday experience sanfran. MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE: not only did the food get worse but Swann decided supporters couldn’t take any food or drink in to the stadium, and then he increased the prices too. Then he decided NO MATCHDAY PROGRAMME, NO WORKING SCOREBOARD, TOILETS NOT FIT FOR USE, and at the beginning of the season SUPPORTERS HAD TO CLEAN THEIR OWN SEATS AS THEY WERE TOO FILTHY TO BE SAT ON. This has turned out to be some MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE ALRIGHT!!!!!!!
