I would go for a 1-1 draw, we cannot keep a clean sheet, and do not score many goals, but it has really reached the stage where results do not matter, the gap is too much now, and only 11 games remain, add to that most teams have matches in hand, it is difficult to see Scunny getting any more that four wins at the very most, which would probably be a bottom two spot, never mind getting out of the bvottom four.
So 1-1.
After listening to Dean after the game, he came across as having no clue on what to say when answering the questions, tro state that when you are down at the bottom nothing seems to go for you, and that Scunny bossed the game, even being at home and not having one single shot in the whole of the first half, and Scunny had many chancesa but cxould not put any of them away. The commentators stated that Scunny should had a lot of luck to be only 0-1 down, and the game was calling out for wide players easpecially when Eastley only had 10 men for half the game. Sorry to say but this man does not appear to be the answer to the terrible position our club is now in, the club has far too many players on their books, and very little idea on what each other are doing.
How the hell the 3,400 keep attending is really a shock, because same as Cox says, it is difficult to sit and watch this team, and poor sods have another 90 mins to be served up with on Tuesday, iut was stated when Dean was appointed that he set up his teams to play attacking football with wingers, the wingers are ewither on the bench, or cannot get into the squad, God help the club!!!
As for the £1,899 being on sale, they will be left with 1,800 not sold, especially with Swanns company still owning the stadium and land!!!!Well done Town, you have put North Lincolnshire onto the map, Scunny used to have a few FA Cup games like that, but you really have to have a very good memory to recall seeing one, and you must to have a lot of years under your belt to have been present at any of them, these days we cannot even get into the first round.
Your manager is doing wonders at Grimsby, funny thing is that he was deemed to be not good enough for us and was given the sack by our gambler, this was another to add to his losses.HAope that you go further in the competition, and it was great seeing your fans enjoying their long treck to the South Coast, our own supporters do a lot of long trips themserlves, but it is to watch our Non-League games at places like Maidstone or Yeovil, and next season it will be to watch Scunny at South Shields and a few village teams in the NLN, soonce again guys well done and good luck in the next round.

What day is pay day last day of the month or first of the month ? .. Feb 28 day month , an away game on the last day of the month and system set up for direct debit , i doubt the staff get crunched up notes n coins in brown pay packet like us oldies use to.
Christ
My first weeks wage was 17 quid i remember thinking wtf can i spend it all on .. after gimme mam 5 quid lodge that i borrowed back every week
Christ fromfromafar, you must have had a bloody good job mate, my weekly wage was £2/4/6p a six pence at App-Frod Steel works, and that was for a 44 hour week, five days and Saturday morning, I have forgotten how the sum was written, but it was £two pounds four shillings and six pence, we used to also get one shilling on a Friday if we had been good lads during the week ha ha.
Apint of beer was 9d, and 7d for a pint of mild, fish & chips were 9d, 7d for fish and 2d for chips, and do not forget that there were 240 pennys in £1, not 100 like today. I got my first car at 17 years ogf age a one year old Hillman (£557) and petrol was 5 gallons (22&1/2 litres for £1 at the Jet pumps on Normady road, how things have changed, those were the good times when Scunny used to win matches with entertaining football, and we actually went on a good FA Cup run most saeasons, with 10, 12 15,000 gates, and a club owner that looked after the football club and kept them in the football league, there was no gambling by that man, and he was a shipping company owner, not investing in a betting shop ha ha!Computer says NO ..

Well, Scunny have brought in many new players, but still cannot seem to get wins under their belt, with games passing by so quickly, the team need a good few 3 opointers, but with being so inconsistant, this is not going to happen.
After listening to the manager after yesterdays match, he clearly stated that there are players not giving their best, so these players must be sorted out qand different one’s put into the team in their place.
prediction Maidstone 3 Scunny 1 or Maidstone 0 Scunny 2——depending on which team turn up.,The truth is, they will never get out of the bottom four places. With 345 Scunny fans trecking away yesterday, out of a total gate of only 1,075, it must have seemed like an home game to Scunny, but the teams very poor performance as a reward for our supporters was not much less than pathetic, and however faithful our fans are, they will not keep their 100% backing if it clearly is obviouse that the team still has passengers. Sort it out for the supporters and the clubs sake.

You may be a few years older than me.
Happy days at the OSG with 3.15 k.o. and early evening k.o., too: 7.15 and even 6.45, iirc.Yes inspector, those were the days mate, those kick off times were made so that10 to 6 steelworks night shift workers could attend games prior to going to work. Those OSG games against Fulham, Southampton, Man City, and FA Cup matches against Liverpool, Spurs, Blackpool, and away FA Cup games at Liverpool (3-3), Newcastle 1957 and Sheff Wed stand out for me, they make me happy to have attended all of those games, really entertaining times, but enjoyment is not there these days.
Bloody hell Barrie, 9-0 9-1, not far off for an 82 year old for a game 70 years ago ha ha!

Yes inspector, I seem to think it ended 9-1 to Scunny, my first game was our first League match when entering the League div 3 North I will just confirm that with my old friend Awaywego99 ha ha!.
Well done the IRON-TRUST, their 24 questions on their list covers all seven questions that I have.
But I still feel that the share nuber taken on will be far shorter than the number on offer, by the way, where did the number 1,899 come from?, I have not seen anything to answer this question. It appears to be a very good idea, and as supporters are saying, there are questions need clarification, but basicly it looks very good.
One or two things being for me, can a share be purchased in some other familty members name, and can that person then hand it down to a nember of his family ?.
Will this sum of £3.6 million just be for the club ground, does that include it’s car parks?.
With the club purchace suposedly being paid for by our clubs new owner, will part of the share price be going as repayment to him, or will the full amount be handed to and owned by SUFC ?.
Who will be in charge of how the money will be spent, and will the FA debt be taken from the share money in order to write it off?.
What happens if only a total of lets say for a figure that only 1,134 are sold, because being fair, 1,899 looks to be asking a lot!!
Can it be confirmed that no other money will be asked for such as yearly payments for local tax, or maintence fees, or upkeep of ground or any new refurbishments, confirming that the £1,899 is a one off fixed price outlay for your one share???
I thinkthat this new owner, manager, coaches and the new players have brought a breath of fresh air into our club. We have all been down for far too long, and how these new people have transformed the feelings of supporters is top class, in fact my feelings of being dead and burried have changed some what, and I am very glad to change my feelings now that Swann and his crew have now left the club, why the hell didn’t heleave four years ago.
So the avaerage gates have now gone up to over 4,000 from 2,100, so that surely tells it’s own story, so give these guys all the credit that they deserve, and leave the negative views out of it, there is time if needed when they are called for, so please enjoy the new change in your match day experience and try and forget the Swanns, Hill and Coxes depressing years.
UP THE IRON Tomorrows forcast is WREXHAM 1 SCUNTHORPE 1.
A home win tomorrow, lets go for 2-0 to Scunny.
IronIronIron, When you say that you cannot bring yourself to leave before the final whistle, well mate, after 70 years watching Scunny, I cannot bring myself to stay till the end of the games ha ha!.
I prefer my habbit IronIronIron, and it comes up trumps 99 times out of 100, and I think that 85 mins is enough watching the shit that is on offer, I am usually on the M180 at final whistle and have RH on.
Keep on dreaming Sharp-Shooter, most of these teams will play against each other before the end of the season, that means that there will be points available to one or both of the teams in each of these games, were the teams that you have named. I hope that you are correct Shooter, but it is a very long shot and I doubt that even Peter Swann will be placing money on Scunny to avoid relegation.
… yesterday emulated our feat against Leyton Orient all those years ago! 2-0 down at Borussia Dortmund in the 89th minute, won 3-2!
I remember that game Bobby, I was driving home thinking we had lost 2-0, after leaving early.
I had a worse one than that though, after driving with my lads to watch the Notts Forest FA Cup match one Saturday after phoning their ticket office to order our tickets, arrived to find that they had not saved them. So with Scunny at Lincoln City that same afternoon, we called at Lincoln on our way back to Barton, and entering the ground about six minutes after kick off, the game was 2-0 after two early goals, I think to Lincoln. The score was still 2-0 with five minutes to go, so we went back to the car to avoid the traffic, there were two late goals and the score ended 2-2, so after driving all the way to Notingham, then to Lincoln and the Lincoln game, we had a full day but never saw any of the bloody goals, then back to Barton ha ha! Funny thing is that I nearly always still lerave when just a few minutes remaining in games.

Those were the days RoamingBull, thats when Scunny used to play attacking football, five forwards whoever we were playing, also a great night when Scunny won 4-0 at Leeds, I think that Barrie Tomas scored all four goals, and I slipped full lenth climbing a steep muddy bank inside Elland Road.

Can’t understand why BS isn’t attending again.
Awaywego99, the reason that I was not at Fridays match was, simply because I do not drive at night time, and it was only during that week that Swann left the club, and I said a couple of years ago, that I would never set foot in GP till he had left, and not really a reason, but my long term season ticket seat was taken last Friday ha ha! so give me a bit of time pal. but with me not driving at night was the reason.
‘Deerey, results have been shocking for four seasons, that’s why gates had dropped to 2,300, now that a new owner and manager have come in, and more obviously, Mr Evil has left the club, the gates more than doubled this week’
So are you saying it’s mainly about the results or about the previous owner that gates dropped so much? Both isn’t it? I’m saying regardless of results Hilton will be working on ways to keep those that came
back on Friday to keep coming back. Incentivisation isn’t reliant on results alone.Deerey—-I was not saying that it was just about results and the fact that the Evil One had left the club pal, I was trying to refer to the Scunny performance that they presented to the crowd of over 5,000, how many of those fans do you think “left the game feeling in a happy mood” and that they are dying to get to the next home game????????????, I will tell you, possibly 5% of the gate.
At the end of the day Deerey, there are as you know reasons for supporters going to matches, one is habbit, and the main reason is entertainment and enjoyment, both of these have been missing for over four years, and that is the main reason why gates had dropped to 2,200 home fans, and I am saying that this will happen again if the football presented to them stays like the very poor showing on Friday.
It is very early days yet, and fans accept that there is no way of avoiding another relegation, but they need to be entertained, and not to just sit there like pricks, and bored to bloody death.
Deerey, results have been shocking for four seasons, that’s why gates had dropped to 2,300, now that a new owner and manager have come in, and more obviously, Mr Evil has left the club, the gates more than doubled this week, but same as Cassidy says, fans will not turn out for games, if the standard stays like Friday nights match, supporters have endured so much shite over the past four years, and at the end of the day it is entertainment they want, not to sit there bored to bloody tears. I think that there will be over 4,000 for the Dagenham match, but after that, they must start getting some results.

From the expert ha ha!
D & R L 0-2
Wrexham L 0-3
Bor Wood L 1-2
Maidstone W 2-1Three points in the four games, and back down to gates of 2,800 to 3,000 home fans for for March games.
I was wondering, “what actually is the present financial position of SUFC ????”
Does the club now own the Stadium, or does Mr Hilton own it?, either way there is no club debt.
What is the cash situation at present?, are they heavily in debt?
Does the club still own the Football League the reportedly £2 million?
If gater remain at over 3,200, does this cover the weekly outgoings?
Do SUFC owe Mr Hilton any money?
Will advertising be stept up Stadium Name change etc, and food outlets etc?
Will club funds be enhanced by a new board of Directors.
Will the Iron Supporters club be donating any funds, or will they continue to support food banks, and what about charging yearly subs to members?
Lets hope that things are not as bad as when Swann was the owner, and lets give our 100% to the present owner, and hope that he gets results, things have really changed this week after the past seven sad years under the Swanns!!!
When is the date of the anual general club meeting????Could have been the air-ambulance collecting Hallam from training!
No Northubiron, that cannot be correct pal, because Hallam has not reached being fit enough for training just yet, maybe the corter was bringing a new massage table for the treatment room due the the old one being worn out!
Say no more on the subject Deerey, its got a bit silly now, so no one will be really interested pal.
Just wondering if we have made any signings yet, it does not show non-league signings on BBC Sports.
Deereyme66, sorry pal, I have never ever stated on here that you should watch what you say, or Swann might sue you, and you are correct, that I have said a few things that have not been too nice or clever, but they have all been true, so no problem there. This man guided our club from being in the League One play off’s into non-league football, and only weeks or months away from extinction, this being a supporter and follower for 70 years surely gives me a right to be angry with anyone that has done this to my club. What I feel sorry about also is the fact that I fully supported Swann for about five years, and gave him my full support on here, it makes me feel so stupid about myself for swallowing all that bullshit and lies, in the end, nothing ever come true with any thing that he spouted.
That is why I am so happy that this new owner has taken our club out of the clutches of Swann, so have your opinions by all means, but in my eyes this new man has done wonders for Scunthorpe United and should be supported 100% by our fans, and I feel confident that he will be.

The new owner and Chairman came in only a few days ago, at a time when nearly all Scunny fans and everyone else were looking at the club being wound up very shortly, in my eyes he has done a brilliant job in those few days, and can see no reason for my views being changed in the future, so please, lets stoip this doubting and give him our 100% support and backing.
I would have thought that after news came through last week that the evil one had sold the club, everyone would be over the moon with the new owner, but after reading the forum there are still Scunny fans that are not happy, yes it is only probably 5%, but what the hell do these people want??????.
In just a few days, the team have taken 4 points out of 6, had an home gate of 3,693, with only a bus load from Bromly attending, paid off the tax bill resulting in that embargo ending, scouting for new players to bring in, appointing a new manager and assistant who have excelent records, and giving Nelson a full time contract instead of working whithout one and seeing the big change in our fans faces last Saturday.
The Swann has left our club, so everyone should be singing the praises of our saviure.

I am happy to say that my eldest lad lives in Derby, he is a Derby fan and also a long term Scunny fan, he came over from Derby on Saterday to visit me after his Friday night shift and then went back to Dewrby after enjoying the match, I used to take all three of my sons when Scunny played at thew Old Show Ground many years ago ha ha!
There appears to be a dispute where ewver this guy is involved in, thank Christ he has gone, and he is never seen in Scunthorpe again, he must be the most hated man ever to set foot in the town.
The Bookies are never wrong, for confirmation ask Peter!!!

Being realistic, after looking at the League Table, we have very little chance of not ending up in the bottom four, only the one team that is behind us does not have at least two games in hand, and we would need one hell of a run of results to avoid the drop, and with the clubs record, it will not happen.
Yes I was very shocked when Nelson was asked straight out by the Humberside in the after match interview, Humberside should have done a quick check with the club to make sure that Nelson was aware of the situation. On the other hand, Scunny supporters are always complaining that thewy are kept in the dark with EVERYTHING, and the real blame is by Peterborough Sports for announcing the news on bloody twitter.
So as long has Nelson has been offered a contract that he is happy with, we should move on, only time will tell how that statement ends, but after eight years of Scunny fans being spun lie after lie by Swann with his dreams, and the club in free fall to near extinction, don’t let this little blip linger on and on, at the end of the day, this new omner has saved your club, and will obviously want some say in how it is to be run, that is a lot better than the owner not even bothering to attend matches, and running the club into the second teer of non-league football, while he is likely to be off to Wintanton or Ascot, so lets move on guys.

A big well done to young keeper Foster, 30 games without a clean sheet with Dewhurst in goal, and now three clean sheets out of six games with young Foster in goal, that should tell some one a thing or two.
And Nelson appears to be getting the best out of some of the players, well done to him.
