Awaywego—-these are my thoughts mate, it used to be great listening to the A Cup draw on a Monday, somtimes from the car radio at work, a few times in places like Borneo, Java, Thailand etc but it was often after midnight out there, but always a special little window to look forward to, it was often rpunds 3, 4 and 5 then, but we seem to not reach those hights nowadays, but it was a thing to look forward to.

I think Iron-awe will be correct and cannot see us playing for a couple of weeks, andprobably more, because this bloodyvirus appears to be heading out of control.

Some very good comments and a few different views, but when we suggest that things are now looking up after eight league games, lets not forget that although league match number eight was a lot better than games befor, games six and asseven were 1-4 and 0-5 HOME defeats, and even our game eight when things looked better was still a 1-3 defeat, lets not forget that Exeter mase SEVEN changes from last Tuesdays league match!!!

I agree with you Heath that the team you have suggested ud about the best possible team that we can put out, but when you say what did I expect from Cox with the players hehas to work with, well I did understand that he was going to have the team playing attacking entertaining football, with the tactics he has applied to date we have not seen any signs of this happening, it seems like Mr Swanns statements about Championship Football, New Stadiums and thenebuilding GP, but after seven years zero progress has been made, as I see it talk comes easy at SVS.

I have watched Football League soccer at Scunny for 69 years, and feel sad that it heading towards the exit of League football, don’t get me wrong, I would love to be wrong, but things look really grim as I see it, bottom of the league, no money and a poor performing squad, but one shining light is that some fans are not too depressed with things, I just hope that you guys are right and we can then all smile.

Heath, at the end of the day mate, it is the manager that selects the players for the team, it is the manager that decides the tactics, it is the manager that controls the subs etc, and it is the job of the manager to do his job and obtain results, it is not completely the fault of the manager, it is obvious that the coaching staff are failing badly, also the Chairman, directors and the clubs board that are in complete control of the club, so for the past three years, the club have gone backwards and backwards, and the supporters are left with what we now have, an unentertaining team that is playing defensive rubbish for 70% of matches.

At the end of the day, anyone that is in charge of any team that has won one match out of ten, is sitting second from bottom of league two, and is out of two Cup competitions (three when the 1st round of the FA Cup is played), remember it is only October and once again our season is finished, it is not the fault of supporters, it is not the fault of Scunny Bunny, not the fault of club stewards, it is the combined fault of the club management and some of the players that have not been giving their best.

Wondergoals, I did agree with you that Onariase, Beestin and Green all played very well, that’s why I gave the three players my top rating marks, but do not agree with you that Taylor played well pal, he had a bad game last week but played very well the game before, so he can play well, and I honestly did not see much of Rowe during tge match, which just proves that opinions differ, thats what its about mate, it does not decide which of us is correct though, it just shows difference of opinions.

    Your polite thoughts please

But Cox knew what he was letting himself in for, but after ten games, we are still playing defensive unentertaining football, and still losing every wek. Can you honestly say Heath that you are happy the way things have gone, and are still going, there are bigger clubs than ours that have dropped out of the football league, and have found it very difficult to get back in. Would you be happy if we where relegated from league 2 ???, and what period of time do you consider to be given to a manager of a team now rooted at the bottom with Southend :- JUST GIVE ME YOUR VIEW ON TIME??, another five games, another ten games????????????

Still only Ironawe given his marks and comments, thanks for that, I know a few will do theirs tomorrow, no problem, but there must surely be Scunthorpe supporters that are not happy with the way things are.

Cass, I really did not see a lot of young Rows on the ball, and it was not through him that earned my 5 extra PL points, it was my skill ha ha!, only joking mate, and I am not hard, in fact very quiet and easy going.

Just opinions guys, I have stated this many times, if you do not agree, there is no problem, just put your own rating marks on here, then we will know your own opinions, but we will never all assess players the same. At the end of the day the club is in big problems, many on here said after a couple of games, “give it ten games£, well the ten games are now reached and we have just the one luckey win, what do those supporters say now ????”lets give it another ten” ????

WITH OUR DEPLETED TWAM DOWN SOUTH, WE ACTUALLY PLAYED WELL FOR 30 MINUTES UNTIL THE FIRST GOAL WENT IN, AFTER THAT IT IS BACK TO NORMAL AT HLF TIME AND 2-0 DOWN. iT HASN’Y TAKEN LONG FOR THE NEW KEEPER TO MAKE A TERRIBLE HOWLER OF A CROSS BALL, WITH NO ONE NEAR HIM, HE DROPPED THE BALL AND A PLATER RAN IN TO TAP IT INTO THE NET, HE MUST HAVE HD A TRAINING SESSION WITH MUSSA YESTERDAY!!!!!!

What I cannot understand is the Taylor that played in his forst mtch was not much less than being outstanding, but since then has not got involved in anything, he just doesn’t appear to be the slightest intesested, why has this big change in him happened ???, if he continues in this frame of mind, he needs sending back to Forest, we have a full team of not up to standard players, we do not need loaned one’s. Send him back an ask Forest if they can supply a goal keeper instead.

I am feeling exactly as yourself Mick, but I don’t know if you feel the same as myself, but I have the feeling that the clubs top management are doing very little to stem the rot.. The fact that the club has about 32 players in their squad, it is not the fact that we are short of players, the truth is that we have the numbers, but we do not have the quality, and worst of all we are very short of effort and fight, just look at last weeks 0-5 home thrashing, players were seen just standing around and not even interested.

If things get this bad, and this has now gone on for over three years, our supporters expect some corrective action from the top management, but many of us that have given Mr Swann our full backing from day one, are now changing our minds, and feel that most of the blame can be pointed in the durection of the board room. We have lost most of our best players, have signed on an assistant manager from the National League who stated that he would have his team playing attacking entertaining football, we are all aware of the shite that is being served up, but no remarks are fourthcoming from the top on what is going to be done to alter this rubbish. At the end of the day, we can all see us ending up being a none league team, this is for sure. And the managers attacking football can be seen in the teams record, last week ONE SHOT ON TARGET, this week TWO SHOTS ON TARGET, how the hell is this entertaining football Mr Cox???

After supporting and watching Scunthorpe since 1951, home and many away trips, we deserve better, no matter if we are 68 year supporters or first year fans, we are all bloody fed up with the way things are being run, this one player up front when playing at home, and the 70 minutes of defending when playing other shite teams is pathetic, and WE WANT SOMETHING DOING ABOUT IT”!!!!

And if and when the chairman sacks the manager, please have him get someone in to select the replacement, because Mr Swanns record of choosing managers is bloody terrible.

i am very glad to see the return of Junor Brown, he played well forus last season, but I do not know how he will fit in withthe present shower, and the Cox tactics, and being a full back playing in front of a knightmare keeper.

On the plus side of things, we had TWO SHOTS on target, we normally only have one.

Just to highlight how rubbish we have become, Sanfran had Scunny to pose 0-4, I cannot ever recall him predicting a Scunny loss!!!!!!

Well every single person is giving the same marks, I gave Watson a 3 because he did get his keepers shirt on the right way, Hippopyle got 3 marks instead of 1, because he now gets suspended and even Cox will have to leave him out of what he calls his best available players.

There is no hope for the present squad and management team, they total about 40 members, but effort, skill, system and will to give their best is miles away from this disjointed bunch.

Why CANNOT SWANN SEE WHAT ALL SUPPORTERS ARE SEEING ????????????????????????????????????????????

You are 100% correct lesgeo, and like myself, have given Peter Swann my 100% support all to time he has been Chairmam, but he has to take most of the blame for what has happened to our club, and it is getting worse week by week if this is at all possible, the players are not even putting any effort into their performances.

Non league is a certaity with is manager and staff, we may get a win agains Southend when ever we play them, but who else is as bad as our team, just one lucky win out of nine matches, and now two away trips to follow.

Mr Swann, please get rid of this manager and the so called goalkeeper coach, are request advice when you nominate your next manager, because you do not have a clue.

Manafwes select the team and playing tactics, we have won ONE bloody game out of EIGHT, and we were battered ithat match, so it is the manager that is standing outside of the dug out nd has control of what his team is suposed to do on the pitch. Swanns prob;em is that he has no idea when he selects his next manager.

I fully agree with the above two comments, the big question is “how long will Mr Swann allow this situation to carry on”, it is well past the time for him to take on some advice when the next manager is appointed, he obviotsly has no idea himself when selecing our managers.

The annoying yhimg is that they all start off with the same old bull shit, “I want my team playing attacking and entertaining football”, the trouble is that this has only happened once, and that was when Alexander took over, and that was then ended for some unknown reason half way through a season when we had promition in our hands, until we don’t know why, but he changed it completely and we gained 3 points from our next nine matches.

TIME TO SORT THINGS OUT MR CHAIRMAN, BECAUSE RELEGATION IS ONCE AGAI LOOKING US IN THE FACE, AND THE SAD THING IS MR COX THINKS THINGS ARE OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same again, geting his team to all drop back in defence when winning, same agin on Saturday, 2-0 up with little time remaining, all back into their own penalty area, result 2-2, does that bring back memories??????
He is a silly guy that will never learn, probably should listen to the fans more.

No one is happy the way Scunny are playing, bu what can we really expect when we have two poor full backs, and the worst goalkeeper in the league, he will not come for any crosses in our goal area, he justs stands on his line on all attacks, he was to blame for three of Saturdays goals, the first he fumbled the ball to their player, the second was a cross into the centre of our goal area, probablt five feet from his goal line, but as usual he was rooted, the fourth goal went through his hands on its way into the net, he is really very poor, and with all his errors he will get worse if thats possible, but the biggest problem of all, the manager and Peter Swann thinks he is a good keeper, Christ sake. Musselwhite must surely be in line for a slot on the dole.

The team was once again outplayed, but they started well, but it only lasted for 15 minutes, after that they just lacked any skills, ran about like headless chicken, and worse of all this week they did ot put in much work and effort. I will give my rating marks, but fter last weeks only having 5 comments, its not worth doing a rating thread section.

WATSON–4–Again rooted to his goal line, a very poor game and must be a nightmare for our defenders.
HORNSHAW–4–Poor game, passing was bad and did not help Gilliead when we went forward.
CORDNER–6–Put in a lot of work, but he has little chance in this poor Scunny side.
BEDEAU–6–Only one that showed any signs of effort, but where is the guy we signed from D&R
O’MALLEY–4–Their winger had far too much space, and the young lad is not league standard.
GILLIEAD–6–Had a few good runs, but never anyone found any space to receive the ball.
VINCENT–5–He still does not impress me, rans about a lot, but no end produt.
SPENCE–6–Did ok in a very poor team.
EISA–5–Nedds game time, ran ok but his final pass was terrible.
TAYLOR–4–Playd well last week, but was not in the game today.
JARVIS–5–Took his goal well, but did very little after that.

McATTE–7–Showed some signs, and got involved, but far too deep.
LOFT–3–Waste of space and wasnot involved at all.

Manager–3–Shows no sign of getting the team shaped into anything but a very poor defensive outfit, if Clarke, McAtee and the guy from Dagenham are fit, they should be in the starting eleven, if not fit why are they on the bench, poor selection and tactics (if we had any).

REF–5–Was to pickey, and not as good as recent refs, but we have had worse.

OUTLOOK–bleak, and the signs are that this rubbish will continue, fans said give it 10 to assess the teams performance, well we have had 8 of them and have had just that lucky win against Carlisle when we were outplayed, so what next, it could be non-league heading our way!!!!!

Surely if this is our player that is in the news, but people must be 100% certain of this before one word reches our forum, if completely true, surely the club must take action and bin him and then move on, because he makes it obviouse that he does not want to be at Scunthorpe.

On the other hand, it could be someone else with the same name, if this is the case, I would think that the forum would be in big trouble.

Spot on Mike, and glad to see hat you finished up watching the game, but it was very poor the way we started well, then as usual dropped back and let a poor team take over. But there are big problems by the looks of things, when we have players like Watson, Hornshaw, Hippolite, Loft and Turan in the squad, and McAtee, Easa, Coulclough and the lad from D&R cannot get selected, and how the hell can we win matches with one shot on target again. A few fans say give him 10 matches, well after four league games and three cup matches, we have WON ONE, and we should have lost that one against Carlisle, who battered us.

Surely our Chairman reads what his supporters are saying, many cannot be bothered to sit at home in comfort of their homes, so what chance has he got of fans turning out even if they were allowed, he stated that we have about 800 paying season ticket holders, I wonder how many there would be if the season was just starting.

Mr Cox got the backing of most Scunny fans including myself when he was appointed, but he must have sold his plans of attacking entertaining football to the Chairman, I do not like this manager change every few monyjs, but it is Peter Swann that keeps making the same misstakes when appointing a replacement, surely he must take advice the next time.

Why do Scunthorpe managers always have trouble getting on with some players????

Wondergoals is 100% correct is what he is saying, Cox is happy with the way we played today, yes we passed the ball well, but showed no intent of attacking or attempting to win the game, ONE SHOT on target once again, and we are heading for another one of those seasons where interest of fans is again being drained from us game by game, I have fully supported Mr Swann through out, but surely he can see what rubbish Cox is trying to sell us!!!

The only plus point for us , is that we are not sitting in the Cluggy stand watching it live, Surely what is being presented to us is going to eventually going to kill the club, because not many hardened fans are going to pay their money to watch it.

SORT IT OUT MR SWANN, QUICKLY.
