Be saying for a while now that Rory is a much improved keeper, he has improved his kicking, comes for balls and commands his area now.
It’s a bit to soon to say higher division clubs are looking but if he carries on has he is and we get a defence that can protect better (which will help the club as well) he will surely move up the leagues.Brigg was very busy yesterday and are top of their league scoring plenty of goals along the way, if things carry on mr Swann could rent out our stadium to a local side.

Today performance just proves we are in deep trouble and for the sake of his career and the club cox IMO should resign and save the ignominy of the sack! He is surely the luckiest manager in English football to still have a job.
He record during the last 24 for games is one win three draws and 20 losses, yes he is a scunny lad and has scunny in his heart but unfortunately he is just not the right man.
I think his choice of assistant was wrong and he has again IMO not brought anything the club, thought with mcmahon coming we would at least but harder to beat and earlier this season I thought we had turned a corner but the last 4 games have proved nothing has changed.
We need something very very quickly because I can see us continuing to slide down the leagues if we drop this season, experienced players in Taft,Davis, and bunn (which was always a massive gamble with his injury record) look devoid of ability, ideas and seem to just be going through the motions.
I have also never seen a scunny side that doesn’t seen to care as much has this lot in 50 years of supporting them, even the late 70’s team had pride in wearing the shirt and realised they were lucky to have a bit of football ability to allow them to work in a job they enjoyed.
I have a season ticket but I just can’t go at the minute as it is sole destroying sitting through teams out playing, out thinking, working harder and damm well just caring more so feel I cannot give the club anymore of my hard earned money.
So all in all it is a f@%£ing mess from the top to the bottom, we won’t see mr Swann leave so mr cox and mr lillis i’am sure not be in charge for the game against forest green next Saturday, so his next choice as manager has to be 110% right else we are doomed.

No, no, no please do not go back to laws if cox gets the sack! Going back to previous managers very rarely works, we have said the club needs fresh blood from top to bottom so surely that means someone who does not have previous dealings with the club.

Only words I can think of after that are SHOCKING, DISGUSTED, DISGRACEFUL! Time for a clear out i’am afraid Messers cox, lillis are totally out of their depth.

If real this is the reason there is so much hatred! Said before race and skin colour or your religion is not a reason to abuse people!!!

I was talking with cliff Byrne last night at a local game and he said hull city really rate wood! So we will see how these two players get on.
I hope they aren’t just bench warmers as seems to have been the case recently.Daruius Henderson, Chris Iwelumo, Ian ormonroyd, Tommy Johnson and Geoff horsfield didn’t exactly tear up any tree’s whilst with us.
Every player should be at least be given a chance to show what they can do, Aaron was criticised before he even got chance because which is unfair.
And has as been said he will probably not score 20 goals a season for us but after yesterday you can see he will be a handful, as they say one swallow doesn’t make a summer but Saturday he did ok.

Well that was a refreshing change today all the players put in a shift they lifted the supporters before and after the game so a massive well done to all concerned, 41 More performances like today’s and things will be looking a lot better.
It’s so nice to be writing positive things about our club instead of the doom and gloom, it proves if you try your best the supporters will be 100% behind you so well done again for starting my weekend off with a win.

Think you can see the influence of Tony McMahon is starting to kick in! The defence didn’t panic and kick it straight to the opponents when under a little bit of second half pressure.
They defended like a league two defender should no nonsense just get rid reorganise and make it difficult to break us down, also I thought Rory (Watson) was outstanding today he dealt with all the crosses and never looked troubled.
I have not posted on the site for a while as i’am in totally at a loss to know what to say anymore! I try to be positive and we started to see some signs of green shots but then injuries come along and kill those off.
We just seen to lurch from one crisis after another wether it’s injuries, COVID, players not good enough, fans battling with the chairman, fans calling for the managers head and the list goes on.
All in all It’s a total mess right now with no end in sight! today the attendance will probably be ok as tranmere will bring a few but its catch 22 we need the fans to help the team but also the club and the players need to try to help the fans by going out and being the best they can on and off the pitch.
In supporting scunny for 47 years this is the lowest point I have ever been at, but I will be there today and all the other home games as it’s my home town club that need me.
So please show us some fight on and off the pitch to get back to those green shoots that will eventually lead to us being back together both on and off the pitch.

That’s where the problems started! the day the chairman sacked graham for some reason only known to the two of them, it has been downhill ever since that day.
We look like a side that doesn’t have any confidence at all, I believe we have some decent players and they are good enough for this league.
I still think we need a young recently retired attacking coach as mark lillis for me is not in touch with the modern game, sometimes you just out of the game for to long to be in touch with the game anymore.
There is another great prospect in the academy called Oliver lobley been with and around the youth team since he was an u14/15
Neil as come into full management at a very difficult time for the club and with the virus making things almost impossible for them make long term plans.
I have spoken to him at speedway which he attends and he seems to know what he wants for the club I hope he can turn things around for his long term future as a manager.
I can’t wait for Saturday and as long as we put in a decent performance and really try as a team to make things happen it should be a good day all round, one that’s taken 18 months to happen.
something no one would have thought on the shit day in March 2020 when we lost to Grimsby in game we just didn’t turn up to and was outplayed.

Don’t think the club would even consider getting rid of john if it wasn’t for COVID-19, but it’s just to risky having someone walking between the supporters on match day.
I would hope he can do his usual 50/50 near the club shop/tickets office as long as you wear a mask. Not sure if Rochdale even have a manager as Brian Barry Murphy quite.
I too thought all the trailists looked of a better standard then we had last year (except gillead and Karacan) if we can get those 3 and a goalkeeper and striker I would be happy, I think Tom Collins should be loaned out to gain some experience as I believe he will be our keeper for the future.

Got some tickets today and they said certain rows were unavailable, so it looks like the numbers are being restricted
Castore is the same company that supplies the Rangers kit and is partly owned by Andy Murray but would think if you get to the bottom of it it is a Mike Ashley owned company

I would too but can’t see it as Swann wouldn’t sanction it, And after wondering around non league for a while now it would be a gamble ! But a fully fit colclough would be head and shoulders above what we have at the minute
This is not a transfer embargo! it was a loan for day to day running of the club and not to be used for transfer funds, we can still sign players or loans but we have to stay within the 107% rule

Everyone has they own opinion on things and if people are so against certain people at the club they have the option not to attend games, myself I just want to see some football in grounds again giving my support to the team.
Sanfran 1 year deals are not the worse thing in the world, Morecambe and Accrington use this model and they have been successful recently especially Accrington who at one point last season looked capable of getting promotion.
The two above offer deals with options of another year so it’s up to the player if he plays well he knows the deal is on the table, we offered and gave out long term contracts that certain players just abused them and almost stopped playing and certainly didn’t care.

Northumbiron i’am not saying the toxic atmosphere is down to this site and I deliberately didn’t point out certain peoples names, I agree with lots that’s said on this site.
Scunthorpe United is the club I have supported for 47 years (since I was 7) and now is one the times it needs my support more then to give the team the best chance of a decent start to the season as we all now results breeds confidence in players.

Jem only told us what most of us already knew! Most of the squad didn’t give a flying f@£k what happened to the club and they should hang their heads in shame.
If we did this in our everyday jobs we would have been sacked months before, But because the club only had limited players with experience they got away with it.
You can’t blame him for walking away but wish we could have kept him and like Misterton said made him captain, we now know why the signings have been slow as Cox is making sure this doesn’t happen again.1 user thanked author for this post.
Isn’t it amazing how all these players apart from Jordan wanted higher grade football but they have all ended up in league 2
June 16, 2021 at 12:40 pm in reply to: Not flagging for offside until the ball is in the net? #208738Unfortunately the premier league like it or not runs English football, and money talks so people don’t want to make mistakes because of it.
June 15, 2021 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Not flagging for offside until the ball is in the net? #208714Both Jarvis and turan have one more year on their contracts, so unless they want to leave they are here next season.
