I remember seeing mason playing for the u23s last preseason at north ferriby! He stood out that day in a side that had all the new u23s and some u18 youth team players in,
I said then to a member of the management team that he was the player that really wanted to make and he really stood out in that game.
I have watched him grow into a decent left back and would be really sad to see another bright young player get moved on.

It is always the safe option worrying about the opposition not the way we can beat them, play the attacking options before the defensive ones.
Yes as supporters we don’t like us losing, but it is the manner in which we lose that is so frustrating.
We need a striker like barrows today (quigley) he knows his limitations and plays them to his best roughs up and unsettles defenders into making errors that ultimately lead to a goal or a sending off.

Concentrating seems to be something that has become are Achilles heel! Unfortunately our players loss of concentration always seems to lead to a goal against us, When your top of the league players always seem to get away with it.

Novak along with madden put so much work in all over the pitch that their main perpose was all but forgotten! I have listened to a few podcasts by ex notts forest players who all said cloughie would go mad if a striker didn’t just concentrate on the job in hand.
One even got transfered for do fancy flick that lead to a goal scored against forest, not saying we should transfer people for for such things just that a striker is a striker not a extra midfielder or defender.

The difference there is the two people buying Grimsby have been trying for two seasons now, mr Fenty is no mug he decides to sell when the club needs the most investment due to a poor side and no income.

We on the hand and as far as we know have not been put up for sale! I think mr Swann would gladly sell at the minute if someone came in with a worthwhile offer but I said that will not happen at the minute.

Unfortunately we can all post on here at the minute that mr Swann, and his management team needs to go but in reality no one with one brain cell would even think about buying a football club in division 2 at this point in time.

I very much doubt if the season will come to a complete conclusion with all the postponements happening and with tougher restrictions almost certainly coming the season IMO will be called null and void.

The lad that Stevenage brought on that scored their third showed how to play as a lone striker, he controlled the ball and held off three of our players before moving the ball at least three times.

For his goal he never gave up pressured cordner knowing he is prone to a mistake and profited with a goal, mr cox should show our strikers his 20 or so minutes on the pitch as an example of how a strikers plays.

The Stevenage radio reporters were saying what a big side we are but did mr loft at 6’ 4” actually win a header? And his first touch is awful meaning he is already facing our goal two yards closer then when received the pass.

Having been at Tottenham and Leicester he is clearly no mug but someone needs to get hold of him ASAP before he drifts away as he has at times showed he can be a decent striker.

Jordan Hallam along with Andy dales deserve a chance wonder! Both have shown they are good enough for this division, and after Tuesday night I have heard mr macatee was told to get his finger from up his arse and stop sulking.

Surely with this pandemic players can see what position clubs are in act accordingly, if you stroll around like mr macatee did then it’s time to bring in players that will at least give it their best.

Time will tell wether the so called better players leave in January, but they in my opinion have been given enough chances and it’s now time to give Hallam, dales, Jessop, barks ,shrimpton and joey Dawson a chance! at least they would try.

Mr macatee answered my question last night! He gave absolutely nothing in the 20 or so minutes he was on the pitch, he looked totally disinterested and even Tom newey was suggesting he would have taken him off before he had been on the pitch for 10 minutes.
For another ex professional to suggest this tells you all you need to know, he is stealing a wage at the minute and if he is not interested play someone who is.
Unfortunately for us I don’t see how anyone could take him on his performances this season, we have seen he is a very good prospect but someone has turned his head
IMO it’s time to either get rid or a shift in the u23s might help him understand that you can’t just sulk if you don’t get what you want in football or any other employment.

That was was 100 times better then the Grimsby game but we were still shit! No pride, passion or a sign of wanting to play for this club.
Only O’Malley, Clarke, spence and beestin are good enough, oniarise is clearly not fit but he would also be in they.

Remember watching mason very early on playing for the u23s I said then that he was a very good prospect and one that would make it out of the 8/9 they had.
Charlie barks is another one I think could become a very good player at centre back along with Finley shrimpton in midfield.

Can’t fault the players tonight! it was one of those nights a keeper having a great game and if he was beaten the post and crossbar saved him thought Colchester were a very average side.
Once again beestin was outstanding think we have a very, very good player in him who you can see playing at a lot higher level reminds a lot of Ryan Yates.
